Yes Dave is the GOAT, but this was not his best. I would not watch this with an expectations. Only watch this when you are extremely I mean extremely bored. You are not missing out on anything.
The very end was a little goofy. What happened to Grace is Cal’s fault. He even told Angelina where the extra key to the house was.
Every episode this season is absolutely Terrible! CBS, please just stop! Discovery is done. I love the Star Trek shows & this ain’t it! Just call this prog discovery & leave the Star Trek bit off, coz discovery isn’t even close to the high standards the normal Star Trek series has set.
For someone who has dug graves before he sure doesn't know how to use a spade...
Otherwise a fine Episode.
Great cast and great writing so far.
Dam that was an uncredited Tom Hanks buried in that make up!!!
A story about two men and a woman written by two men and a woman in which the feminine gaze prevails, the "truth" is assumed from the beginning, so the other "versions" seem somewhat unnecessary. But there is a perfection in the representation of a medieval society so masculinized that it's difficult to argue, and it has an extraordinary contribution in the very intelligent soundtrack by Harry Gregson-Williams.
Jaime’s narrative arc is really impressive. The most curious thing is that we don’t really know why we are empathizing with him. The important thing is that this period that Jaime spent with Brienne was enough to make him evolve as a human being, and the dynamic between them is special.
Nope, not as dope as the other comments suggest. Sure it was kinda unexpected, the ending, but this season has been such a disappointment. Elizabeth wants to kill Reddington, then a few episodes later she is fine with him, then again pissed that he doesn't share the secrets, then suddenly everything is all good in this episode suddenly.
The introduction of an old character to nudge Liz in the direction she ended up choosing. What rubbish. Any normal headed person would have just said screw this I'm done and I can finally leave with my kid so I will. The writing has gotten as bad as it can get during this season. I'm horrified to think of what they're going to do next season. At least no more horrible acting by the person who ended up dying.
Unfortunately, it’s becoming harder and harder to root for June. I get she’s flawed, I get she’s damaged and I get that she’s got a score to settle. But nothing about her character’s portrayal is even remotely likeable anymore.
That said, utterly enjoying the season and looking forward to what the following episodes may bring.
I can't believe neither doctor stood to the side of or behind a patient that just had hip surgery. That's not an operational error, it's just common sense. Not to mention if she had hit her head, then the hospital would be facing a huge lawsuit.
That was good and quite amusing. What is Megan doing now anyway? I did not bother doing a web search. The producers could have tried harder to make Liz more real in this episode. I prefer the Cyranoid woman over the real Liz. I don't mind if we never see Liz again.
Quetzalcoatl. Do you know what I'm talking about?
When I first started watching this I thought yeah it's ok but the more and more episodes I've gone through the better it has got. top stuff.
Jokes apart the live crowd was pretentious. This show wasn't even funny.
Dave is transphobic. Good, that he admits this by himself. He definitely lacks empathy for trans-people.
This isn't his best work.
This was personal for him and something he felt he had to do.
It isn't, however, high on laughs. As a consequence of needing to clear his chest and speak to criticisms, it feels drawn out. And as somebody who does care either way about much of the subject matter, it felt labored.
It ends on a sad and poignant story. Chapelle's own feelings and the telling of the story came across - to me at least - as a touch contrived and had a vague whiff of insincerity lurking in there.
As a stand up special, this cannot stand next to something like Bill Burr's last 3 or Chris Rock's first 3 and be considered strong. It just isn't in the same ballpark.
Dave has made a resurgent career on speaking wisdom under the guise of stand up. Until now, he was excelling. This one just didn't tie together.
6/10
This episode is greatly underrated and over criticized. It sets up many plots for seasons to come, May not be nonstop action but its an absolute must watch for the series.
If you don't like this movie, wait for next parts. They will be released in the following order:
Father iOS
Brother Linux
Sister Windows
Grandpa Cobol
Uncle DoS
Nephew Basic
Pet Python
Ruby on Rails
Aunt Symbian
Niece Unraid
Brother Java
I didn’t need to see the movie from three different perspectives it’s just a way to drag out the movie. It was good to see the hairstylist from Joe Dirt finally get back to work. I see Dr. Facui was the technical advisor for all things medical keeping things 100% accurate. Great fight scene with Matt and Adam otherwise waste of time.
Erm... I realize that the protagonists can't be just fired... but are they really worth many other hospitalworkers? Why keep them and not somebody else? It would have been more realistic to at least fire one of them: Why keep Reynolds (the deputy) but not the chief? (Granted, the triangle situation was tiresome but in the hierarchy Batiste had a better standing...) Why fire the Head of Neurology? And that conflict between Lauren and Casey was rendered moot when he was let go.
And we know that Max and Helen won't leave - so all the "bad" decisions are going to be reversed anyway.
Damn, the last 10-15 minutes had me crying. I wonder if we’ll ever find out the contents of the letter to Asher from his father.
Oof... what Hope just did. There are teachers who will do whatever it takes to maintain 'control'. I felt so bad for them. Especially Lily. This is the sort of shit that will break a person. I hope we get to see her get her spark back!
Why why why must the writers toy with our hearts so much! I was so nervous when Eric was in Nigeria! and I'm so mad he kissed Oba! Adam is back home trying to think of ways to express how much he cares for Eric and truly making an effort. It's crazy how much I started to love Adam!
Boooring!!
I agree with most of what Marc's already said. But: Helen and Max are just boring. Sorry, but their appeal was the will they/won't they routine. Now that they're together, there isn't much left to tell about these characters.
What's missing is interesting medical riddles, handling patients which was once a strength of this show. But it all gets bogged down by Iggy's issues (which are the most boring of all), by Floyd's love triangle, by Lauren's relationship issues. And let's not mention all those manager-decisions... o no, we can't close down the ICU, we'll rather staff it with people who haven't worked in an ICU for a long time or not at all etc. That's negligent at best (especially since it doesn't solve the underlying issue of a lack of competent doctors for the ICU).
I still like this show, but some kind of upheavel is needed to make it interesting again.
I liked the scene of cooking eggs, it felt so oddly satisfying, in a way. Homage to the movie Big Night. Awesome! Wthout any dialogue spoken. What a brilliant scene!
You know what…. Fuck maeve…… I want ruby to be happy and with Otis ….. it’s probably not gonna happen tho
Another intoxicatingly rich episode.
Marissa getting kicked out i was like :cold_sweat::cold_sweat::cold_sweat:
Politics was brilliant
People are allowed to change up their appearance every now and then, but so many changes for Olivia happening right after they came back from the alternate universe? And no one finds that suspicious? It's so dumb.
Lol at the random zoom-in on the Ford Taurus text, and the lingering shot on the Sprint logo. There hadn't been such blatant product placement before now.
What's with all the rape attempts? Geez... I hope it doesn't get worse than that.
Also, the stuff with Podrick felt too sitcom-y.
Why doesn't he just run away to Canada with her ?
OMG Why do these shows wanna leave you hanging hard. The season finally was awesome, but I seriously hate when I don't have closure. This show should run in the fall so we don't have too wait lol cal is grown, mom is dead, the plane disappeared, and a plot to kill Ben! such an awesome end to the season, will definitely have you sitting on the edge of your seat until next year.
Why do the writers have to conflate gun safety with women's right to choose. Dr Glassman's concern about a gun in the house he lives in is just as valid as Debbie's concern about feeling controlled. Dr Glassman can be a controlling person, but he can also be right about not wanting a gun in the house.
If the genders were reversed, and a woman didn't want a gun where she lived, the storyline wouldn't be about the man's right to choose. It would just be about whether two people can find a compromise, and if neither side can compromise, then it's just bad compatibility and shouldn't be together.
I also don't understand America's obsession with guns. Could you imagine if Debbie wanted a super aggressive dog in the house, one that attacks, maims and potentially kills intruders, but also has a high rate of accidentally attacking and killing the owners of the house (which guns do!)... how is that allowed? And in that scenario, how would it be okay to force Dr Glassman to accept that the guard dog has to be allowed in the house?
Not so bad, but still not great either.
I think this is the first time I liked Megan Boone's acting, as she cried holding a dead person in her arms. Usually her acting is just cringey and one dimensional, but seeing her hold the person in her arms and cry felt genuine, the first time in 8 seasons, I feel.
