Pointless story. I only watched it because of Race and stuff. It didn't give even one feel of rush during races. Ordinary story, Acting is also poor.

Racing scenes are hilariously shot. Apparently they overtook each other about 7 times in the last lap which is laughable.
Really enjoyed this one. The visuals look great, music was perfect including the sound effects. The story is good, and you will root for the characters (that even change and progress as the story goes). Godzilla is scary and menacing. I can't think of anything I did not like. Can't wait for a streaming release to see it again.
Predictable and laughable. Who could have seen the cold grizzled veteran photographer turning into a scared child, while the petrified newbie becomes fearless in a matter of days?! The young fearless photographer is directly responsible for her hero's death... SHOCKER! -"Would you photograph my death?" Whoa!! What a plot twist! I love how Dunst pushes the young photographer out of the way from the imminent gunfire and then just stands there and waits to get shot in the back. Then once she collapses from being shot multiple times, not one member of the press even checks on her. The movie had potential, but the writing got stupid and lazy in the most crucial parts.

It was everything they said it would be and then some! Supreme spectacle with otherworldly intensity. Fan first was an experience I’ll never forget. A film for the ages. Long live the fighters!
Another one the censors at letterboxd probably hate. Dave's not backing down to offended inc. His bit on Chris Rock was decent, the long joke story he ends with was the weakest bit. But every jab at the alphabet mob was well deserved.
If you use the term "punching down" you're stupid, go away.
My wife acted like she did not like this movie, which is usually a good indication that I thought it was great…which I did. I will say that in a room with all the lights shut off, stretched out on the couch while watching a movie over 2 hours long, she stayed awake, which I don’t think she has ever done, so at the very least this movie should engage you. Visuals were stunning, and helped give the movie that magical feel that I think they were going for. I was entertained.
What an incredible film. The Green Knight is truly a coming-of-age story, disguised with the trappings of fantasy and suspense. The acting, directing, cinematography and music are all done as superbly as one can expect. While some may not enjoy the pacing, as it does slow down at times, it always adds to the suspense that makes this film so compelling in the first place.
You either love him or hate him, there's no real in between with him. The thing is: one needs to understand his way of storytelling and sarcasm and cerebral deep diving he does to dissect human behavior/thinking. If one takes what he says at the surface level, one will likely be "offended" because one does not understand his perspective and one will cast him aside as an "ist" of all ilks. It behooves those who want to watch his sets to do their homework, find interviews with him explaining his comedy and then watching with a humble and open mind, no expectations.
Simple but poorly written light comedy, with a terrible climax, but overall quite entertaining. In some scenes it takes quite a good snapshot of the current social situation in the US.
I really need one uber driver
I don't stand a chance of articulating how this movie made me feel, but I ran the gamut of emotions watching this unfold before me. Wonderment, unease, angst, anger, disgust, disbelief, sadness, despondency, anger again. It's unfathomable that this even happened, let alone how little it's known about by the wider masses. An important movie that is beautifully composed; it's just a shame the subject matter is so ugly and disheartening. I must rally against the negativity surrounding the runtime. I'm usually the first to call out a movie for crossing the 120-minute barrier, but Scorsese's ability to weave such a succinct story makes this one roll by so spritely, I barely realised the time going. I'll probably never watch this again but I’m glad I saw it through, it really is a masterful piece of cinema that proves Scorsese is more than just a name; he’s still a master of the craft, and I hope he’s still got many more projects left in him before he folds up the chair for the last time.
The fighting scenes are off. The pacing is weird and some of the scenes feel rushed. I’m even more annoyed that the military actions don’t seem to make much sense: we’re attacking a base but we don’t do any recon up front despite having a huge drone in space, we’re sending in a single guy to do an extraction, we’re sending a walking robot instead of all the rockets. The world building is really cool, but for me I got distracted by how forced some of the innovations were that didn’t seem logical in many places
It's not like this movie is bad, it's more like it's so mediocre there's not much to it. They took a whole bunch of old cliches from other sci-fi-ish movies and put it all together, but it doesn't work. It's more like a soapy love drama in sci-fi entourage. And all that woke agenda doesn't help either - all good characters are either black or asian, and all bad people are whites.
there was this one beautiful silhouette shot i really liked, it's around that chapter when he was in florida, then his fight with that man was good, especially the sound design, it was unusually quiet for a fight scene and that exact detail is what drew me in
also his internal monologue throughout the movie was nice, Michael Fassbender was great
Boring, then boring, at the en boring. 1 fight that is it, a real one, no a skinny girl who eats lettuce knocking a 250 pound dude, nothing more, no action, bad script, I think nowadays directors and actors just take advantage of Netflix, Amazon, 20 years ago, no one read the script and said, ok let's do this, but today the ppl could watch a show about someone inclusive painting a wall and saying , the best movie, the painter break the mold, he Is not a poor latino, he Is the new freedom, jajjaja. Skip it, I would like to see a korean cop movie or an Indian cop drama dance romance instead, at least those movies are something that i could talk during my lunch.

This looks like something how all historical stories should be told. The new documentary style. It's difficult to say if it will really be good, but the trailer is magnificently done!
The meanest thing I could say about this movie is ‘Has extreme Don’t Worry Darling energy’.
I have never seen a movie more desperate to justify itself. It’s trapped in this endless neurosis over what it is- a blockbuster Barbie movie in 2023 by an acclaimed art house director that is fun but also deep but also earnest but also self aware but also but also but also. Every point it raises it brings up a counterpoint to before the audience can, every frame is trying to prove it’s not just product but art. It’s never just Barbie. It’s never confident or even comfortable in its skin. You cannot for a second be immersed in Barbie because it’s not a story so much as a visual dissertation without a central thesis, it’s a student film riffing on the big dogs hoping it’s underdog audacity will carry it but given a budget in the millions. It so desperately wants you to like it, to know it’s in on the joke too.
Everythng is an ouroboros here: an endless loop of argument and counterarguement feeding itself. Isn’t it shitty how the Mattel boardroom is full of men? Ah, but isn’t it cool how Mattel’s acknowledged it with this niche? And it’ll mythologize Barbie’s creator but uh don’t worry she did tax evasion we know that, now let her impart into Barbie the experience of all women. Barbie helps women, Barbie hurts women, Barbie is told to be everything so isn’t she just like women, but it is better to be a creator than the idea, and in the end, hasn’t Barbie helped all these women? Oh uh why is this blonde white Barbie the centerpiece of it all and helping not only her diverse Barbie friends but a Hispanic woman and her daughter? Don’t worry we’ll have the daughter call her a white savior! But don’t worry we’ll have the mom say she’s not! It’s fascinating to watch, honestly. It’s a film that wants to prove to you so so bad that it works but it doesn’t and it knows it doesn’t and it knows you knows. It’s Gerta Gerwig wrestling with taking this job for an hour and a half.
The cast is more than game and able. Margot Robbie is doing her damndest to find the heart and soul in this role, and there’s one scene with an old lady near the end of the first act/beginning of the second that actually works, for just a moment, more than any of the big third act soliloquies or montages with emotional ballads. And as someone who’s seen Blade Runner 2049 and Drive, this is the best Ryan Gosling performance I’ve seen. The man commits and delivers a surprisingly compelling and entertaining antagonist. The movie can’t quite reconcile what he’s done with his ending, or tie it into the themes- is Ken letting go of Barbie and the need to define himself for or against her symbolizing the need for men to do the same, and if so, why play it so lightly and sympathetically?- but that’s not his fault. And the supporting cast are entertaining, but you just can’t have big laughs with a movie that feels like it’s constantly checking in the corner of its eye after every joke to see if you’re laughing, grin stuck in place. It’s not as funny or as smart as it wants to be, and the sad thing is, it feels like it knows that too.
There is some great set design, cinematography, dazzling choreography, popping colors, and some fun high points. But I can’t imagine many kids liking it. And we’ve seen how conservatives have taken this movie. And anyone’s who’s progressed beyond the politics of. Well. A feminist blockbuster Barbie movie will find it cloying or condescending or just incredibly basic. It’s aimed at a very specific crowd who will buy what it’s saying, the liberals who see corporate feminism as progress, who agree that it’s just about a little change sometimes, who are ready for something just a little more complex than a SNL sketch. I don’t regret seeing it, because I was deeply engaged the whole time seeing it struggle at war with itself, in pain for its whole existence. It’s not a boring movie by any means. It wants to say everything before the audience can say it first. It’s the endpoint of The Lego Movie and Enchanted- the corporations interrogating and justifying themselves, and the cracks in this formula are too large to ignore. It wants to be so much, and the attempt is as darkly mesmerizing as a fly thinking it can somehow and someway metamorphize into a butterfly and suffocating and struggling in its makeshift cocoon, but this is one Barbie that fundamentally just cannot break out of its box.
The movie's message is very hypocritical because it claims to promote feminism but actually promotes female supremacy (women ruling over men, not the equality message that feminists tend to preach). The barbies getting their world back from the Kens is seen as fair and equal even though it is literally a matriarchy where the men are just there to entertain the women and don't even have their own houses. They switch from patriarchy to matriarchy but never mention it.
I am a very liberal person and I am completely for equality, but not female supremacy. And besides, if it was just a few references it would have been fine even then, but the problem is it is the film's main plot. The whole point of the movie is to lecture to men why they shouldn't be the ones in charge and make them appear as buffoons, as morons who can't do anything right, that's what I despise about this movie. The women are never portrayed as idiots except when they are in a brainwashed state, yet the movie claims to promote equality. That's the problem with radical feminists like the film's director (Greta Gerwig).
I guess next time, before I pay for movie tickets, I am going to actually read the critic reviews and make sure that the filmmaker is not a radical moron before I make my decision. This time, I just foolishly picked the movie based on the eye candy I saw in the trailer. And yes, the eye candy was there throughout the entire movie, but that's the only good thing about the movie, everything else was horrible. Ryan Gosling is a great actor but in this, he is portrayed as a weak spineless man, and the few times where he is portrayed as strong, it is only in a stereotypical way to make fun of him. If the movie really preached equality, it wouldn't be so focused on making the men appear as idiots or promoting a female dominated society, it is because of that kind of stuff that plenty of people (including some women) are against feminism.
I completely understand wanting to tear down the patriarchal aspects of society or calling them out, but by replacing them with ideas of female supremacy, it makes the movie's message lose its credibility, because feminism tends to be about equality, not trading patriarchy for matriarchy, which doesn't even work in the real world. All matriarchal societies are either failures or they are stuck in a very undeveloped state and never make any progress. Also, there is a reason why some jobs are more male dominated than others, very few women want to work in construction, because it is dirty, it is a lot of heavy lifting, and it can lead to broken nails and even serious injuries.
During 80% of the movie I thought that I didn’t like it. It’s basically about the perverted relationship of a nymphomaniac woman with her cuck husband. It’s disturbing, sado-masochistic and sick.
Most of the movie I was in disgust, because I do believe that these kind of people really exist. At least, whoever wrote the story, is a genius and a very sick person for sure.
Yes, I was disgusted and annoyed by nearly every character, but yes, in the end I like it because very few movie characters do that emotionally to me. I will never watch it again of course…

This is a masterclass in how to portray subjectivity. I was absolutely immersed in this character and could feel the amazement, horror, and divided feelings that he was going through. The directing was phenomenal and deserves much praise.
This movie is legendary. someday it'll become a classic. I don't know why someone is complaing about why they didn't get to explore more of Oppenheimer's character, or what he was. I think that person needs to rewatch this movie. Scene are not snippets, It is complete and well integrated. Yes, they covered a lot ground. Could it have been a miniseries? of course! but saying that this movie fails to integrate different aspect, is completely false. Even character whom had small screen time, did perfect. I think everyone needs to hit theatre, so Hollywood makes more fucking movie like this. which delves deep in character and dark part of human chatacter. Not everything is Pink and happy. I think, you must watch it in theatre decide for yourself. I think I have spent all my penny well. Thank you Nolan.
I guess I'm the target audience for this movie because I think it was an absolute masterclass in producing an enjoyable action movie. Cinematography was great, the story was paced extremely well, and the casting of ALL roles was absolutely perfect.
Cruise, Pegg and Rhames were awesome as always, Whigham and Davis were great additions, but the power quartet of Ferguson, Atwell, Klementieff and Kirby, really went above and beyond in making this movie perfect. Not to mention the chilling confidence of Morales as Gabriel, who practically oozed tangible danger.
From the pre-opening credits scene to the final act, you will be on the edge of your seat - especially during any fight scene that involves Ferguson or Klementieff - and whilst there are moments that the tempo slows down to advance the story, it is always completely captivating.
The single, solitary, disappointment comes as the credits roll, and you remember you're going to have to wait until next year to see how it ends.
