USA USA. No thanks. Removing from sickbeard. Only wish I could delete the memory of this show from my head.
Over cheesy lines
Bad accents
Terrible stock footage
Cliche
Usa rammed down my throat
Religion rammed down my throat
There's a world of difference between the season one and two. I was getting really frustrated with the way all the characters were saying and doing dumb things in season one but kept watching 'coz the series was shot really well. The locations, the ambience.. like that gothic rockstar's place.. were all great.
Season two has kicked things up by quite a few notches. I had no complaints about VFX in S1, yet it feels so refined in S2. The camera angles, the vampire encounters like the one with lights out in the storage shed.. it just feels like watching a different show altogether. Except for the kid Zach (which I'm 100% certain will get on your nerves), everyone has started to talk more sense. The main plot - the plan about how to get rid of the vampires - as well as the little things - like how that woman in-charge of Staten island has no problems convincing the public that the infected must be exterminated but has a hard time putting her own relative to sleep - they all make sense. Even the characters don't fail to surprise you. That whole sequence with Dr. Goodweather taking a train to Washington D.C. was great.
It's hard to believe how much a show can improve with the same cast just because some thought has gone into its writing too. So, if you couldn't bear to complete season one, persevere.. binge watch if you have to 'coz you're in for a surprise when you start the second one.
... a rocket scientist ?!?!
One of the best TV sci-fi programmes to date, and maybe of all-time since the start of on-demand streaming. Complex plots exist throughout but are still understandable. There are many different groups of people in the show to focus on, including different factions. So glad that Amazon saved the show from SyFy who wasn't renewing after season 3, despite it being the most successful season to date. Season 4 (date TBC) will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video. Many thanks to all of those who participated in the #SaveTheExpanse campaign on social media.
Syfy finally got the message and has finally produced some of the smartest, boldest proper sci-fi any one could see in years. A very conceptual show, not a big one on characters. I know some people are drawn to different types of shoes like that - definitely one to check out either way.
Just finished watching the pilot and I have to say, WOW!! This show is so much better than other sci-fi/space related shows that came out earlier this year. The first show has gripped me and I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the reason. Do NOT pass this up. Must watch even if you aren't a fan of space related shows!!
Station Eleven rewards patience, but that's a big ask for the cellphone / social media generation. Story progression within an episode is sluggish and it requires an alert mind to notice the important little things you'll probably miss if you're feeling bored. Throw Lost and The Leftovers in a blender, add a very mild hallucinogen, mix well, and pour out a nice glass of Station Eleven. Enjoy, but drink slowly. The taste is subtle, but the kick will be stronger than you think.
