The transition between Marc and Steven (and also their suits) during the episode was definitely something else that I'll be obsessed with for the rest of the year.
And thank you, Mohamed Diab for finally showing Egypt without the "Hollywood yellow filter". He’s doing an amazing job directing this show, I absolutely love the soundtrack and the visuals.
Shouldn’t the TARDIS have caused the Cyrillic sign in the underground tunnel to appear as English?
This show is not wasting a second of screen time. I don't think I've seen an anime move forward so fast. Makes you wonder how massive the story must be if our hero already meets his nemesis this early on.
The show is so good so far. The only downside is the hopping back and forth between the present and the past without warning,
Nice tension but if there's one thing that I hate are situations crafted to precisely to get the story going while being completely unbelievable: yes, I'm talking about the CO escaping right into Scofield's cell and grabbing exactly the sink so that T-Bag discovers the tunnel. It's a potential element of further problems so it could be interesting, but arriving to it in this way it's just cheap writing, come on
The funny thing is that after the episode ended, I came here to give it some stars.
I don't know, the show is still decent but we continue to just rush through areas / locations way too quickly, I don't feel like there is any danger or threat as they just deal with everything so quickly. I think every episode so far would've benefited by being 10 mins longer
The baby laser is the best thing I've seen this year. I burst out laughing!
I absolutely loved the montage of their traveling. Best way to get to know each character, their habits, and illustrate just how different they are. So much better than the first episode!!
[silently] I'VE BEEN STUNG BY A WASP
Sister Maggie and Nadeem are the true heroes and stars of this episode, let's be honest. If something happens to them or his precious family and they don't survive the season I WILL FLIP.
I consider Doctor Who to be very similar to Star Wars. In the sense that it’s all Star Wars, you can have favourite characters and episodes, but saying things like “I don’t like the prequels they ruined it”, I’m sorry but you’re not a real Star Wars fan. This mentality can be used with Doctor Who. People who don’t skip whole seasons because they don’t like the person playing the character or the show runner is bad is not a real Doctor Who fan. This is what the show is, complaining about it won’t make you enjoy it more. Jodie is an amazing Doctor, Yaz is a great companion. You’re all just complainers.
I love this return to serial style set up. This episode is obviously all setup and there was a lot of characters to keep track of, but I really enjoyed this. I’m excited to see where it goes. I love this. Is it my favourite Doctor? Companion? Show Runner? No. But I understand and accept those things are out of my control. It’s all Doctor Who. And it’s all good.
Wow, good thing that company didn't deactivate that hi-tech, security ID badge of that worker they fired....
Great premiere, remove the flashforwards and it could have been an amazing episode.
I noticed that the note Juliette found at 18:50 reads "Remember where you were the last time you saw this? I found what I was looking for," whereas the note she handed to the sheriff at 27:45 reads "Remember where you last saw this?" (and then it's cut off, being torn in half). Production error? Feels kind of sloppy for a show that otherwise has amazing production design and a very keen attention to detail.
Overall, so far I like the show! I don't remember much from the books, but the looks and atmosphere seem to have been captured incredibly well here.
Adena may be a 'muslim lesbian living in today's America' but Kat is a black woman who was about to be arrested in an America where black individuals get shot by police for jaywalking... I would've liked to hear her argue that counter point.
Wow, that aide storyline did not work for me at all. Melissa was not wrong to expect Ashley to be helpful and not distracting to her students. I also didn't love Ava laughing about Jacob's mode of transportation being stolen in the cold open; the show walks such a fine line with that character and this was on the wrong side of it.
Nick is such a sweetheart. He's the most adorable, thoughtful guy ever. I'm terrified this show is gonna ruin him :( Please, don't ruin him
Also, I'm not digging Roz and Harvey dating. Don't date your BFF's ex boyfriend. It's just messy and unnecessary.
Melanie Lynskey's storyline feels like filler. The rest is good.
Lot of issues with this season so far. English dude is super unlikeable. (are we supposed to suddenly love him coz he volunteers at a soup kitchen?), Alex and Whatsherface have terrible chemistry. Lena becoming a cliché villain?
I just hope they find a way to recover and build towards something more meaningful.
I’m a sucker for an alternate reality storyline — and I loved this episode! The eldridge terror stuff gets a bit muddled and convoluted at times, but this was a fun romp regardless. All the references to both this iteration of Sabrina and the old 90s TGIF staple were an absolute delight.
For a show that can be so silly and over-the-top, it was great to see it parody itself here... with jabs at obligatory shirtless scenes, Lilith’s never-before-seen bedroom, the set model with artwork pending legal approval (which I’m assuming was a reference to the show’s real-life Satanic Temple lawsuit), and television rating stunts.
Much of this season, for me, exhibited why Sabrina ultimately succumbed to cancellation, but this episode showed off its creative potential — and reminded me that I’m really going to miss it.
I don't buy this ending that ties everything up so neatly. A veteran teacher with this mindset would tend to dig their heels in to resist change. But it's a show, so everything needs to resolve by the end of the episode.
Why does nobody notice a man with red eyes and claws
Wish they'd done a bit more with the impenetrable wall , guess we'll have to see it it's brought up again later.
I still do not understand why the flashforward storyline exists.
I'm so in love with all of the three Snicket siblings
"I'm the devil"
Me: YES BABY YOU ARE, SHOW 'IM
Lucifer breaks the dude spine
Me: WAIT NO-
Women getting their revenge against someone who abused them is my favourite genre.
l love how they dramatised Keylith's storyline with the fire ashari. I felt it was kinda odd on the actual tabletop show when the whole group got to help her lol. This honestly made more sense and was truly a challenge for her. I overall really enjoy the changes in the story so far, it makes sense for a series to change it around a bit and they've done a real good job of it imo.
Oh damn that's a rough one for Bella but at least she recognises it's of her own making. She's the character I vibe with the least but I admire her drive. Hope it works out next year wherever she ends up.
The Leighton stuff seems a bit like they suddenly remembered her stuff with the women's group last year and quickly changed gears to jam it in.
And as for Kimberly and Whitney.... Damn Kimberly really should have spoken to her about Canaan before making any moves. It's the respectful thing to do for your friend.
