Black Mirror: Bandersnatch

At first playthrough I went pretty deep in the choices but got an unsatisfying ending to my taste. dead-end > toggle for other choice in splitscreen > automatic kill and bury dad > call psych > jail

Went back changed some choices and got a better ending but boy, was it sad...found bunny > choose to die with mum

After that I stumbled upon a very complete flowchart someone had made and I was amazed by the complexity of choice and consequences for a video format. Used it to see the "Netflix action scene" ending and that was as amazing as it was meta

All in all some good fun, but don't expect too much story and character development else you could be in trouble.

Rememory

Found it to be a rather slow movie. A bit too predicable for my taste. Especially with a premise like this, you have a platitude of directions to go in, but unfortunately the potential is left untapped.

Godzilla

First off; I didn't see any trailers of teasers, on purpose, did not look up any reviews or score cards when it hit the theater, just because it's so easy to create a hype around something these days and therefore you'll end up disappointed by default.

I just went to see a Gojira movie and enjoyed the ride. They chose the keep it closer to the the original story and completely ignore the 1998 remake, like they should. If there is a follow-up, I will go see it, and I'm sure I would enjoy that one also.

Resident Evil: Retribution

I expected more.

Though the pace of the movie was OK and it was filled with over the top action, gun fire and explosions, I honestly thought 2 or 3 times "Fade to black -- the end" to discover I was about 1/3 further in.

All in all I watched it 'till the end, but I'm glad it wasn't shown in theaters here. It would've been a waste of my money, especially since it would've been a 3D only release.

The Amazing Spider-Man

What MajorMercyFlush said. Really. One sentence synopsis you ask?

"It's a people story, rather than a superhero story and I liked that"

The Terminator

Gotta love those 80s special effects :) Stop motion, miniatures, grainy picture and that typical flat 80s audio. Soundtrack seems a bit inspired by TRON, which is also great. A good film.

Rubber

Different, but not in a bad way.

Rango

A graphical masterpiece. A bit like ratatouille: Not the best movie I've seen, but a it includes decent story; It can make you laugh a couple of times and overwhelms/amazes with a lot of incredible details.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

A strong and worthy ending to a great saga. I particularity enjoyed the sound track of this motion picture, which added a lot of depth and emotion to a lot of scene's. Also the use of silence (as in: lack of background music) managed to add duress quite well. I haven't seen such thing in a blockbuster for some time.

Overall a nice movie adaptation that managed to reduce the impact of some major plot lines that where neglected in some of the previous adaptions to a minimum. But as always it could not take the time needed to unfold the plot as strong as Rowling did in the novel.

Insidious

I watched it the way it should be watched: Alone, in the dead of night with the surround sound cranked up pretty good and complete darkness surrounding me.

This movie can be split up in a 2 or 3 parts and it starts off very strong. The only problem with that is, because the first part of the movie was that good, the second part just can't live up to the standards set by the beginning.

To put it simple: Overall I really liked it, although the beginning was stronger than the end.
