People are starting to communicate! We need a whole lot more of it but it's progress.
See? The girls are super smart! Love 'em!
Once I saw the title of this episode I feared it would be a series finale... But, thank Heavens (or Science), the show has already been renewed for a 4th season. Hooray!
This was kind of a mess of an episode, but in a good way. Lots of stuff happening. I'm glad Andy came back, just like Grace said he would, but now he can see demons, too. And he already starts seeing demons in advanced mode: a full bastardization of the Nativity scene! Poor Andy, that would freak anyone out (except for Kurt, apparently). So, I wonder how much is he under Leland's grasp, and how much of the actual Andy is still left in him. I hope he doesn't become a devil worshiper nutjob, like Kurt.
I felt for Kristen, at the end. After getting Andy back, when things started to finally feel safe, again, she gets the rug harshly pulled from under her feet: she finds her mother, Leland and her egg, all playing in the opposite team.
A special mention to Sister Andrea, who keeps stealing all the scenes she's in (gotta respect someone who's able to maintain a casual conversation while shovelling a bunch of demons to death).
This was a nice "two in one" episode, ending the solid chapter that was season 3 and setting the tone for the next one, season 4 (David's divine riddle of the 38 days helps a lot with that, too). It'll be a loooong wait, but I'm sure the Kings will make it worth. They always do.
Also, nice to see George, again.
Omg, this episode is hilariously terrible. How is it possible to make something this terrible?
First of all, why the hell is Barry their father? Afaik their still themselves and "Nora" is the Speed force, a primordial force of nature who's been reborn, they even say that in the episode. So, again, why is he their father? Just because I create my dinner doesn't it's my child. Stop it, it's terribly cringe.
Second, how is Psych faster than Barry? He's literally a speedster supposedly faster than anyone, yet he's caught every damn episode, at this point you might as well take away his powers for good.
And third, why the f*ck does Barry need a stupid, sappy ass speech ever goddamn episode? God, just rehashing the same trash every episode, just do something different, just give us something good. The most exciting thing that's happened the last 4 seasons, apart from Barry meeting Justice League Barry was Frost vs Flash and him turning evil.
This episode was just so awful that I was laughing the entire time because of the stupidity of the episode with them being "family" even though they literally never met each other. I must say I did quite like Psych tho, he adds a much needed dynamic to the show other than the feel good, extremely nice characters of the show.
Honestly, if it wasn't for the Flash being one of my favorite superheroes of all time since I was a kid, I would've stopped watching this a long time ago. I sincerely hope this show ends for good at the end of this season, Grant is a great actor and deserves better than to waste away on this God awful show.
[7.2/10] A nice entry into the now-storied Bob’s Burgers Thanksgiving canon. The frame story, of Gene having food poisoning and thus needing stories to make him hate food on the most food-centric holiday of the year, is a sound one. There’s some gross parts, but it’s a solid jumping off point for the “three stories” approach to various food-focused, pun-tastic tales.
“Breadator” was my favorite of the three. It had the best pun, the most creative combination of the source material and the food item du jour, and did the best job at poking fun at the original. The design of Bob as “Breadator” was a particular highlight.
“Pear Force One” wasn’t bad either. I do like that they just call Gene’s character “President Gene Harrison Ford” and so on, and the weirdness with the first lady being Linda was amusing. There’s some chuckle-worthy additions with Tina’s usual “nudes not foods” focus, and again, some good puns.
“Parma-Geddon” was the weakest of them, but still had its moments. The imagery of the chef hat space suits was a winner, and the knowing way Bob told the story to make Gene feel better clicked for me nicely.
That was honestly my favorite part of this one, the way it’s stealthily a good Bob and Gene episode. Bob loves when his cooking is appreciated. Gene loves to eat. That sound simple and silly, but it gives the two of them a connection, one underscored by Bob telling his son that he was like that as a kid, and it’s a big part of why he got into cooking. It’s a sweet note to go out on.
That said, as much as the main event comedy-wise here was the parodies, some of the lines from Gail and Linda made me laugh like hell. Gail talking about how her psychic told her she was lactose intolerant, or Linda referencing Knives Out before admitting she didn’t see it, or Gail grousing that Bob makes turkey every year for Thanksgiving cracked me the hell up.
Overall, some creative spoofs and a nice Bob/Gene coda to them make this a sweet Thanksgiving Day episode from a show not short on great ones.
