[HBO Max] Wonder Woman is a supporting character in her own sequel. So much so that they need to recover a character from the first movie to be her adventure partner. Goofy villains are the protagonists, but the action scenes are poorly shot. The only thing from the 80's are the visual effects. At least, Hans Zimmer believes the epic of the character. This is what happens when a mediocre director becomes a star.
Just a shitty movie. When did wonder woman get all these extra powers? To bad good CGI wasn’t one of her super powers.
It's like a radio drama... but you watch it. Let's call it -- cinema!
The film plays out over four key acts and they feature some wonderful one-shots, period piece settings and dialogue. Jake Horowitz and Sierra McCormick are a wonderful pair. This is sci-fi without the pew-pew, but it made the ending all the more delightful when it came.
There are shades of Close Encounters here, albeit on a microbudget. Its quite stylish in parts, evoking the Twilight Zone with its setup, although the talky nature of the film might be offputting to some.
Almost a podcast on film, The Vast of Night is a gripping thriller with some of the most captivating scenes and style this year. Absolutely stellar work from Patterson, along with some awe inspiring long takes from both Sierra McCormick and Jake Horowitz (the switchboard scene and Mabels interview are some phenomenal cinema). Great work.
Personally, I thought the movie was great and should have ended where Peter jumped out the window. It could have easily been said or explained that this was a tragedy and became mental illness for the entire family for the two deaths (Ellen and Charlie).
But the whole coven/cult thing at the end just totally killed it for me.
A likeable cross genre adventure. Based on a 2014 short film BAGMAN (also written by tha Baker brothers - who created, wrote and directed KIN), this story is part SciFi, Drama, Chase movie. The characters have depth. There are surprises. It has a cast with a solid pedigree (Dennis Quaid, James Franco, Zoe Kravitz) but when Carrie Coon (a favourite actor of mine) shows up towards the an ending that sets up a sequel, my mind went to a stellar TV series. (I’ve since read that critics had a similar idea.) However, if the box office warrants a cinematic sequel that would be good, too. But, if not, producers, “Think TV”! The premise is interesting and could be expanded. Young Miles Truitt goes a great job. I give this movie a 7 (good) out of 10. [SciFi Adventure]
The forgettable younger sister of Black Swan. A bland Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton playing type, and one good performance by Mia Goth. The score and the choreography are more than solid, the cinematography is alright. The rest of the film is not even worth talking about: trash.
Dafoe is good and the cinematography is interesting but overall the movie is boring and dull.
Did he commit suicide at one point?
A story that is too predictable (and very worn in the superhero genre) in every way, Romeo and Juliet and their impossible love, the villains who want to be bad just because their life is full of trauma and emotional problems that they can easily deal with a good psychologist. The only good thing about this film is at the end: Lynda Carter's cameo. No folks, Gal Gadot and his pretty face can't handle the whole movie, it also requires a good director, scriptwriter and even special effects.
This was supposed to save cinemas? Oh my.
Pedro Pascal did steal the show though.
Huge disappointment. I renounce my wish to see this movie.
A Sci-Fi movie which doesnt emphasize on VFX nor action, but brings you into proper storytelling. Could be slow for some, for me it was a good effort. 7/10
Excellent storytelling. Well done. Bravo!
Really enjoyed this film. Its certainly different from most films, loved the long dialogue heavy scenes and the slow growing atmosphere.
This movie looks and feels like an 80's sci-fi B-movie. Its nothing spectacular, but it is good. It draws you in and you slowly uncover a mystery along with the main characters.
This is a good movie. The actores are excelente. No Need for Money to do a good movie.
despite most ppl here said it is boring i really liked it. the atmospehre and style was very good and i liked the overall fell to this movie. now i have to say you have to be in the modd for this kind of movie to like it but i dont think this is a bad movie in any capacity
It's always refreshing to see a sci-fi movie that isn't afraid to take its time to properly establish characters and the world in which they inhabit. The Vast of Space is an intriguing look at the human side of an alien contact movie.
Was a good action movie. The best thing about it was that the characters didn't make stupid choices and made sane discussions. The first half of the movie was better than the second, action lacked on the second half and was mainly about them arguing over stuff or making manly speeches. I was thinking the organizer guy was going to fuck them over at the end, I mean a plot twist like that, but nothing happened. Overall 7/10.
One part macho action movie.
One part heist thriller.
One part morality tale.
It's a triple frontier, and competent (if not outstanding) in all three areas.
First off, don't go into this expecting a pure action film. It's not. A few moments of action supplement the combination of a heist story that morphs into a survival story that takes turns giving commentary on greed, post-military life, and the value of violence. The cast is superb and the film is gorgeously shot, accentuating the film's themes. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the somewhat trite final scene. Barring that, I was engaged from beginning to end.
completely hated it, too long and unnecessary.
