I thought that as a series finale after only a second season, they did very well tying up loose ends without causing the wrap-up to feel rushed. Most shows I've seen that have been canceled either fail to have closure because the story is unfinished, or have been canceled early to be given a budget to wrap the season, but most still feel rushed. They couldn't have pulled off being able to tie up so many loose ends in any unfinished story, let alone with one with the inherent complexities that come with the intricately interwoven threads of time travel without having planned as well as they did. This is a reactionary comment to watching the two-part finale, being so surprised since thinking that another story was left unfinished, and thrilled that the story didn't end with episode 10, then to feel so satisfied with how the pieces fit into place, questions answered well, and the decisions the characters made in context to their circumstances showing some of the best, and worst, qualities of humanity. Nicely done!
It is sad to lose another quality show, and an educational one as well. As a kid I wasn't thinking anything about the fact that I was learning something while watching Schoolhouse Rock between Saturday morning cartoons, but when I was in school I found that I already knew the preamble to the constitution, the Gettysburg Address, and other historical events, and even knew that 3 is a magic number when I encountered them in class and didn't have to study for what I had learned through short cartoons years before (a few years ago I ordered the DVD set for a girlfriend's daughter and another copy for myself that I can see sitting on a shelf right now). Anyway, I really enjoy a show that can teach without teaching, with characters who make us feel, while being able to make us believe in the best in people. Goodbye not-so-old friend, and thanks for the journey.
This show was about to end and I had completely forgotten about the mystery surrounding Jessica’s murder. The identity of her killer it’s not exactly the big reveal, but the reason why instead. We had to come this far to fully understand Flynn’s course of action and while his choice was incredibly heroic, his passing was just as sad. Who would have thought he would turn out to be most complex character on this show? Not me for sure.
Also, it was highly satisfying when he pulled the trigger one last time.
That is horrible, I feel so bad for Fred's mom. She has suffered way too much for one person!
Well, yet another case that I remember already seeing but I don't think it was from this show, but I suppose that it's possible. The mom is despicable. It's bad enough to murder her two husbands, but to attempt to murder your own daughter to frame her? I hope she gets beaten in prison on a regular basis!
I think that she has a learning disability though and can't read, spell, or speak a lot of words properly. She somehow slipped through the cracks and never learnt how to pronounce or sound out words and is missing some early childhood English skills. I say this because I have a friend who is similar with these issues.
A lovely tribute to Leslie and such a great way to farewell the actor as a cast. RIP
That was such a beautiful tribute to Leslie. the way they did it in the end, bringing his chair and jacket. Simply lovely. That was such a great farewell to him and his character. I loved how they addressed him in the end, as a cast, as a colleague, as a friend. He never failed to make me smile in anything he is in. I'm gonna miss him very much. Nothing else to say, beautiful tribute for a beautiful soul. RIP
That was one of the most beautiful send-offs I have ever seen on a show. Very touching and respectful.
I'm glad they made Phil live happily ever after.
What a tragic story. I feel so sorry for the parents.
Yup, he's guilty. I was open to it possibly being sleepwalking but not with all the things that he did. The one idiot tried to say, if he wasn't sleepwalking then why would he leave the bloody evidence in the trunk of his car? I would say, if he was sleepwalking he wouldn't have put the bloody items into a container so blood wouldn't get in the trunk or even put it into the trunk in the first place. He also left the items there because he was going to dispose of them but he was not expecting an officer to all of a sudden show up out of the blue that same night that he was committing the murder and get interrupted and caught with all the evidence.
The lawyer Peter Barbee said it, corrupt stupid cops. Lol and a incompetent coroner. I'm glad that Alvin is free, what was supposed to be his motive anyway, the one life jacket that he wasn't wearing and risking his own life without? Peter was right Capt. Chris Pelas is a punk and that is a very polite way to put it, he should be locked up.
