Yes this show is derivative, and the fact that it is driven by a former 'Lost' director should give you an idea of what to expect. The reviews seem to have divided viewers down the middle but as a huge fan of 'Lost' and Perrineau I enjoyed the two seasons and can't wait for the third. The show in my opinion didn't set out to emulate the previous creations as even 'Lost' and shows like it were barely original. I think it scores for me in the way it delves into the issues and concept of fear, just like Shayamalan's movie 'the Village' from 2004. I guess we all take different things from shows like this but I would highly recommend it.

The Walking Dead: Season 11

Got to episode 20 out of season 11 and decided, enough is enough. I have watched this show from the very start and I am so disappointed that it is suffering a slow lingering death of this magnitude.
It has been truly obvious for a few seasons now that the producers are trying to wring every last dollar out of this franchise before it finally ends. This is typified by the lack of budget used in the production to portray the 'Commonwealth.'
This is supposed to be a community of several thousand and yet all we get are the usual scenes where extras are shot close up in groups of thirty moving from place to place. I hope they never 'resurrect' this show and let it die peacefully!

Traces

Agreed that the lack of a local dialect was glaringly obvious but it was the scriptwriting that disappointed me most. Without resorting to spoilers I can honestly say that given a fairly good premise for a whodunnit the writers failed miserably in many ways to provide a story that was believable and intelligent. Far too many implausible incidencies throughout the script which were almost comical at times. Ecpected better from a program which included some very good actors but unfortunately they can only deliver the lines that are written for them.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond

This has to be the end of the franchise, truly awfull from the first episode. I know they are trying for a younger audience but whoever thought this one up really needs to look at a new career. For me TWD main series failed in some ways because it forgot that viewers like the "road trip' aspect of different locations and scenes of dystopia. This new series seems to have that aspect but lacks any credibility with pantomime lead characters and cliched stereotypes. Sorry, one episode was enough for me.

Money Heist

Started off with promise but I soon realised that the story was full of'padding' which really did not advance the characters or entertain. I can't remember when I watched a TV show where guns were pointed at each other so often and with the same predictable outcome. The dialogue is simplistic and banal at times although this may be down to the need for accurate lip syncing. The premise of the heist is very good but it is spoiled by a lack of detail, like the dead heist member breathing on the table and the sillyness of the captors counting handfulls of notes at a table when the are stealing several millions. Despite it's lack of sophistication in places the acting is fairly decent although some of the characters are almost pantomime in nature. Worth watching in my opinion but don't beleve the hype that seems to follow it.
