What a cheap Code Geass ending copy. Not to mention the insane plot armor for alliance group and plethora of plot holes. I swear people watch this with their brains turned off
Yostar Pictures somehow managed to adapt an underwhelming arc of the game look good. With that teaser dropped in the end seems like they will be adapting from ch4 to ch6. But 12 ep length is not good enough to cover character development and world building, I hope they do more episodes focusing on that.
Yostar nailed the pacing of this episode. A note for anime-onlies: Gunpowder doesn't exist in this world and there's more to just pulling the trigger. Guns are called wands and its users use originium arts for ignition in gun chamber and bomb explosions. Firing a single bullet takes a lot of skill and it gets even harder with rate of fire of weapon/fired in quick succession. Exusiai can use Vector because Laterano/Angel race are pros when it comes to "wands"
Great episode. Loved how they dropped that subtle "hint" from Talulah with black screen which was also in the game, was worried if it would be scrapped. As it would make much sense when rewatching after the entire reunion arc is finished.
Hoshi intro was badass couldn't ask for more. IIRC they actually showed how Misha gets kidnapped by W which wasn't in the game (only mentioned by Chen later on)
Doc throwing rocks at bullies is my favorite part. The whole Lungmen BGM reminded me of Hengsha in Deus Ex Human Revolution.
And finally, Kal ASMR.
Holy crap that catastrophe and overall "battlefield" theme was spot on just like how it was depicted in the game. Love the cameos in the second half including the kettle
I probably watched this like 50x when it was released. A nice new year special for the fans.
I'm glad they didn't scrap the initial mystery dialog and now we have a voice! Anime onlies get to see the Sarcophagus in full detail at the beginning whereas we had to wait until Ch 8 for that and also the known Terra geography after episode intermission.
Seems like animation is the same as Holy Knight Light special episode. The story pacing is a bit different than that of the game but it's more or less to suit "anime" pacing as it's already hard to adapt the game. Not sure which one is canon though and there are obvious parts that didn't make it to the anime such as the Doctor remembering some conversation with Amiya in the past and the missing date mentioned by the mysterious voice. But so far so good.
I still can't believe how they can cover everything till Ch 3 in under 8 episodes. Arknights is all about world building and I don't know how it would be if they rush everything.
It's best not to keep much expectations as gacha anime tend to fail in general. The lore is amazing and there's a lot to cover but it's equally important to convey it to the audience without boring them. If everything is done right by keeping the same tone like Attack on Titan (not considering the crappy ending), Arknights has the potential to go down as one of the best series in the history of entertainment industry.
I really hope they take their time in doing this project and try not to rush it to tell one of the greatest stories ever told.
Fingers crossed.
All the budget went to this episode. I'm so glad Mappa didn't disappoint. Kudos to Kohta Yamamoto for composing such a terrifying BGM for the episode. As expected from a student of Hiroyuki Sawano.
In manga, Eren getting decapitated was the end of the chapter and we had to wait for a month lmao. Some torture that was.
This is the pinnacle in the history of anime.
Even though the ending is dogshit.
I will miss this show and it's characters. Still curious about the whole protomolecule and dogs thing but well guess I have to hit the books
How is this show gonna end in 1 more episode? Nothing literally happened yet!
Lmao why did they kill off Eskel? He is pretty much alive in Witcher 3 iirc
To survive in this world you have to be as selfish as possible
Mindless, no brainer and no logic alien-action movie
What a waste of time lmao. I honestly like it at the beginning, but then it introduces the cheap cliffhangers to keep you watching only to find out that it's a complete waste of your time. It continuously shows the same old repeated "flashback" bits, Nina keeps on telling that she saw some horrific shit every time (in reality it's nothing but bs), you never see Johan do anything in action, tbh we don't even see him killing anyone lmao, and here we have Tenma and Nina be like "I'm the one who's gonna kill and put an end to all of this" bullshit but after when Johan reveals himself they second guess every time and tell each other "You mustn't do this!" bullshit and not killing him, TWICE, Johan's endgame plan is so flawed, that it doesn't even makes sense, just a killer on loose who is spared at the end.
Funny thing is even in the last 10 episodes, the anime tries to build up some useless plot in some random nameless town and characters that are pretty much forgettable and the other killers look up to Johan and say "He is the real one, monster , monster, monster" and yet we never see Johan in the action, pretty much like how he isn't known in the world. I don't really know how people like this one, only watched till the end because I thought the final "revelation" would explain everything, oh boi was I wrong.
Too much fuckin family drama in the second half
Why did they have to kill off Alex goddamnit!!
Where the hell is Amos and Clarissa even going
The opening intro was a nice touch. I can't help but think that the elevator pancaked that security guard...
God why is everyone so stupid.
With the opening foreshadowing the asteroid strike, I guess it was inevitable
Man I didn't know Amos could SLAP like that!
I really wanted to give this an 8 for a solid first half action but the second half and the ending was way too personal and unrealistic
Absolutely amazing. Instead of going complete parallel timeline bs quickly transitioned into a beautiful ending that I've never expected.
This is some Mirai Nikki shit right here. Please tell me this is not how it ends.
Oh my god. We've seen them saying Back to the future all the time but we didn't take any hint.
But still this is a complete jump in genre that wouldn't suit Mr.Robot.
That was like the grand finale now what's left lmao
