Has a really strong start but unfortunately drops off towards the end.
The girl introduces him to her father as his "boyfriend" out of nowhere and he doesn't even object? Not even weirded out by it? Lol. She acted like a bitch the whole time, lied to and used those around her, and the MC still says he was in love with her all along. Wtf even was this
If this is good, then I don't think there is a superhero trilogy that will be able to compete (maybe only Nolan's Batman) with this one. This will join LOTR as one of the greatest trilogies ever, in any genre.
I guess it was pretty shocking for when it was released, but I personally didn't find the story enjoyable. There are a few pieces of the story they slowly reveal, but nothing was really interesting/exciting to me. Maybe I have seen too many similar movies that have improved upon the formula since this was released.
This movie had beautiful writing, incredible moments; but throughout it I couldn't stop thinking about how I bored I was. Something didn't quite click with me. To be honest finishing it was a chore, and it took three separate sit downs to will myself to the end. I don't know if it was the way they chose to present the storyline...or the chemistry between the actors, something made me deeply aware of the time I was spending not being entertained. The choices in music; however, were incredible, and created a perfect environment for whatever the story wanted to portray in that specific moment.
Dont believe critics.Its really boring.Worst screenplay.Nothing interesting
Well, I love Lakeith, Dawanda, Gina, and RuPaul as actors. But I wanted to slap this sappy movie off the screen. I wanted to like it so bad, why did it suck so much? sigh. Best scene by FAR was the subway interaction between Jenny and the stranger - it felt like an authentic subway platform situ. It is a NYC film thoroughly with neighborhoods and venues called out. But the lines are said too fast and Jenny is too cry-y. Otherwise liked the racial diversity and leading lesbian. sigh.
Straight up snoozefest, finishing the movie felt like a chore.

Great cast, good acting, somewhat boring/tedious script
Despite the good cast, the screenplay wasn't, the movie was boring...
I loved this movie. One of the best Christmas movie on my list :christmas_tree:
There are multiple themes and I loved the way all of them are presented. The friendship between Jesper and Klaus, the father/son relationship, the spirituality around Klaus’s wife and his way of dealing with the passing of his wife,...
All the little details that makes this movie a Santa Klaus origin story is gold.
The animation style and the drawings are a bit old school but as soon as you are used to them, you are taken in a wonderful journey.
This was so much fun, predictable but lovable.
A great, feel-good, Christmas movie. Enjoyed this. I mean, you can see the ending coming a mile off, but that doesn't stop you from enjoying the ride along the way.
I was really surprised by this movie. Nothing was entirely original. It was like ZombieLand meets Fall-Out. However the movie was ambitious, fun, sweet and exciting at times.
It was nice to see a dog used properly in a movie as well. I mean in most movies with monsters, the dog is predictably a goner. So that definitely was a nice change that he was utilized.
It’s strange to get a monster movie that I actually want to give a big hug.
Super fun watch.. woulda made a great tv series
Obligatory to watch after the original (2003) Fullmetal Alchemist series.
It's a beautiful work that closes this story arc, even if it fails to achieve all expectations - which leads to my 9 instead of a perfect 10.
The Neon Demon is a well directed film but it gets so frustrating by the time the end rolls around that I was ready to pull my eyes out. Nicolas Winding Refn is starting to assert himself as one of the most arrogant filmmakers around. There is a reason all his films get booed at film festivals.
I didn't really care for this film. It wasn't that interesting and it was very slow. The ending was really weird, the rest of the film was pretty forgettable.
What a weird movie. I really liked the style of the movie but the plot is so slow and nothing happens and what does happen never makes sense. The vibrant colors and trippy score make this worth a watch at least once. If it had a halfway decent plot then this could of been great.
Disturbing, stylistic snoozefest. Painful to get through the whole movie.
This is not really a movie, it's more like a giant music clip for the album of the DaftPunk. I don't recommend to watch it as a movie you would be disappointed but more if you want to listen to their album, then you have this as background with the adventures of this alien music group.
To be honest, the animation is nice, there's a huge work made with it and the sounds choices, the technique is good. But the story is boring as fuck and way too long for what it is, ok it's poetic blah blah blah but tooo looong! I don't understand all the critics that says that it is insane and one of the bests, for me all these critics sound so fake. After finishing watching it, I had the feeling of having lost my time. It would have been better in a short film format. Not worth it to watch, I advice just to watch to enjoy the animation but not the story, and no need to watch till the end just to see how the guy lost his hand and tries to seduce the girl --> lost it with a wood engine, work he has started because he was stalking the girl and her uncle is the owner that's it.
Would you rather watch an animated film about a disembodied hand that has to fight to understand what caused it to be severed, or a film about a disembodied hand where you don't really see the disembodied hand but instead a long series of banal flashbacks?
Because if it's the latter, man, have I got a film for you.
(That said the voice acting is particularly good here.)
Beautiful art and animation but really just boring throughout.
