I'm a big fan of Will Ferrell but this movie was horrible. I barely laughed at all. The plot was totally lame.
The first movie was mediocre enough but of course they had to cash in by making a Christmas-themed sequel. Horrible piece of shit movie you couldn’t pay me to watch it again.
These faith-based movies play very differently for people who have it verses people who believe in other things than God. The movie was okay but it by no means spoke to me or made me anything other the annoyed really since the word "God" repeats itself like 20-30 times in the movie. At some point it's like okay, I get it, and I can accept it and be fine watching it but it doesn't need to be shoved down my throat which this movie without a doubt did do in it's pursuit to it's predictable ending. A little less faith cram and about 20 minutes less time would've done this movie wonders.
I decided to give this a try because I've been watching too many horror films. I don't like this. Why it's so boring? Sloppy story, no clear direction, unlikable characters, not much going on. Even the action bits are bland. I had to turn on closed caption to understand what they're saying. I wouldn't want to be in this family. Extra star just for the puppy & dog.
The most pointless film ever made. Skip this & burn it if you happened to buy it on Dvd/Bluray. This is a movie about a guy moaning about his friends being more successful than himself. The only thing that makes him remotely happy is his son possibly going to Harvard,he thinks that will somehow make the last 13 years of his life valid. The ending was a non ending
16 minutes of whining about other people being more successful than him was 16 minutes more depressing than I needed to be. I wanted to kill myself after 15 minutes...it took me 1 minute of depression trying to find the off button.
0/10
Had the potential, but sadly 'Amundsen' underwhelms.
It's a fascinating biopic idea, given it's about the life of Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen. It holds all the ingredients to create a riveting film, but unfortunately it doesn't reach the heights it perhaps should've.
I think the biggest annoyance/frustration with this is how the story is unveiled. They reveal it in boring fashion through the voices of others, with it being told in both the native tongue and English. Both those things stopped me from creating a connection to the characters.
I like the cast, though. Pål Sverre Hagen leads strongly in the main role, while Christian Rubeck gives a good performance too. The rest of the support cast are solid if forgettable, with Katherine Waterston being the most memorable.
Cinematography is nice, though the ageing effects aren't the best. All in all, it isn't one I'd recommend.
How is it possible that some of them haven't learned any Greek at all? They've been living in Greece for quite some time now I feel like.
Humanity these days seem to need to remember. . .
There are so many things to think about with this movie. On face it seems so easy to understand, even rationalize, but the ending turns it all upside down. Christopher Plummer is incredible in this movie. It will stay with me for a while.
I will not give more then 1/10 with forced gay or forced racial equality. Juste hate when it is so forced. Grous!
IMO: mediocre, at best.
