As every good thing has an end, we have come to the end of this beautiful thing. As I said at the beginning, in the first episode, I have never watched Doctor Who. Except this season of course. As a first time watcher, every episode is better than the other. I wondered so much about Ruby's mother that I never thought she would be such an ordinary person. "Ruby's story is over, but the horror for the doctor is somehow over," he said. I guess it's a reference to the other season. In short, they did a very, very good job. Even though some scenes were a little slow, I liked it. If you watched this far and see this comment, you probably liked it too. Thank you for everyone's efforts. It was a perfect season.:thumbsup:
I had high hopes for this season... key operating word being, "had". I was hoping this season would be better but it's somehow gotten even worse than last season. I truly feel sorry for Jodie Whittaker, it really feels like the writers are setting her up to fail.
Craptastic storytelling/ supporting actors (The New Master) has made an avid Who fan not want to watch the show anymore. And the ignorant are going to say "because they made The Doctor a woman!" When it lies solely on the writers, directors, and producers not Jodie in the slightest.
3rd most likeable version of The Doctor (imo) yet the last 2 seasons are the most disliked seasons I've ever watched and I've watched every episode of the New Who at least 4x, these last two seasons are single watch only if that...
halfway thru this season and this season really is just... not hitting :/ 5th season slump?
This show never disappoints! I absolutely love it!!!
After the long wait for the new series what we got wasn't worth the long wait.
Jodie is good as doctor, but the writing. The "new" doctor tries too much historic lessoning (Rosa, Punjab) and too much political correctness (female doctor, the companions) - not that that's bad for itself, but it seems the season had it's heart not enough in the "right doctor-ness" (fantastic stories, great-to-strange solutions for the problems, ..).
I usually needed some time to bond with a new doctor; so far the bonding with Jodie was quite fast, but the bonding with the stories and the writing will need some more time/seasons for me.
