Fallout: 1x01 The End

A strong start, setting the scene for what’s to come. Faithfull to the games.

Jonathan Creek: Season 5

I think it’s fair to say the fun and the magic has gone in season 5. Sadly, this is what made the earlier seasons and specials great.

Why would he marry someone that would want him to give up on his life passion of devising ingenious tricks, even if he did have to move on and find another day job. It makes little sense, like the episodes of season 5. Rating meh. Rewatch seasons 1 to 3 to find J.C. at its best.

Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor

Note to the writer and director: you can stop making these now. Ok, it’s better than the third instalment but only because that one was utter trash.
You’ve added nothing to the franchise with the same “Ooo, the clowns have moved” jump scares once again. Even the origin story was dull.
I realise this won’t be read, and the ending hints at what will come next. So go on and make more shit as it’s your cash cow but for heavens sake, watch your films and learn that you have added nothing to the franchise after the first two films.

Juggernaut

Far too many long, drawn out scenes which killed the atmosphere for me. They were dull, not thrilling as should have been.

Terrifier 2

Not as good as the first. The film went on for too long, the scenes seemed unnecessarily extended. The pre credits ending was likewise dull, and the post credits bit was just daft. Meh some it up well.

Amityville Scarecrow

If only you could leave a rating of zero... All round badness exudes like the smell from a festival toilet on the last day of the event.

Interceptor

Shite. Utter claptrap. If this was based on a book, what idiot read it thinking it was good source material for a film? Ohhhh, Netflix :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Summoned

Wasn’t a great film but I would have rated it higher if it wasn’t for the final 10 minutes, which were terrible. Turned in to a cheesy flick that you’d find mid afternoon on CBS Drama. No thanks!

Run

Very predictable. It was OK but don’t expect anything original. Shades of Misery, just bland ones.

Killer Campout

“Jumpin’ Jesus on a pogo stick”, best line from a terrible film :joy: Bad acting weird dubbing. It’s like they filmed the scenes then later went back and recorded the dialogue. The lips don’t seem to sync quite right. Oh and boobs. Lots of boobs. Also, the special effects team looked like they had fun with the fake blood and guts  The killers must be very hungry as after every kill they start munching body parts straight away lol! Cannibal munchies!

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Not a patch on the original, just a cheap slasher with no depth. I’d avoid if you haven’t seen it yet.

I Know What You Did Last Summer: 1x06 Least You Had a Spare

So people are being murdered in a gruesome fashion and the police don’t take a missing girl seriously? I’d like to think even in America this is bullshit.

I Know What You Did Last Summer: 1x01 It's Thursday

Starts off with some pretty annoying characters and hoping it improves. Hasn’t grabbed me in the same way the TV series of Scream did.

Counter Measures

Thoroughly crap. Thoroughly enjoyed laughing all the way through it, from start to finish. Another one for “How the hell did they get the budget signed off for this?!”.

Just how big is the interior of this submarine, did the designer develop Doctor Who’s TARDIS technology? Have they ever seen inside a sub? And why does the outside of the submarine when they get out towards the end of the film look nothing like the models or the external stock footage of a surfaced sub? All just laughably bad!

Bingo Hell

I went in with high hopes for this thinking it might be something like a bunch of oldies taking on demons in a bingo hall. No. It’s plot is so bad it barely makes sense. Someone will come out with some tosh that it is a reflection of the disintegration of established communities by hipster companies. Nope, it’s a really REALLY bad plot with terrible script, unfunny “jokes” and dull 2D characters. It so could so have been a fresh twist on a film like “From Dusk Till Dawn”. What a missed opportunity and what a waste of my time. Rating Boring as Hell.

24: 2x19 Day 2: 2:00 A.M.-3:00 A.M.

I didn’t want to put this comment against the last episode as I consider it a spoiler. But wouldn’t shocking Wallace with, say, 250 joules to try to bring him back to life have fried the memory chip? :face_with_monocle: Imagine what the amount of energy would do to any electrical item. I’d say this was a plot hole! Even the tracker would be fubar’d.

C.H.U.D.

A true classic horror/sci-fi of the 80s with some future big name actors. The 80s synth soundtrack is worth it alone! Silly, absolutely. Dodgy effects and dubious plot, that’s a yes. It’s what this kind of film should be but in a good way :)

Elevator

Pretty much covers all the elevator tropes you could think of. Nothing original about it and guessed the one with the bomb within minutes of the film. Dull stuff.

Shiver

Boring. It felt like a bad episode of a crime series than a standalone film.

A fun sci-fi/action romp that never takes itself seriously. I’ve watched it several times over the years and it always entertains.

Megalodon Rising

Omg, what was the budget for this film? $100? So low budget it could pass as a mediocre college student's film submission.

Examples:
Tuan clearly has no glass in her glasses and is wearing frames.
The CGI boats look like pc graphics from 2001.
The boat is supposedly cutting edge hardware judging by the CGI model. Yet you can tell its old and a WW2 era craft (I looked it up, it's a museum ship docked in San Diego and built in 1945!).
Early in the film when they are already out at sea, you can see through the porthole what looks to be buildings, probably a dock.
The controls in front of Moore are PC flight sim controllers. :joy: Probably Logitech or Thrustmaster.

The plot is ropey and the acting is typically bad for this kind of film. Tom Sizemore really doesn't look well either, I hope he's actually OK.

Beaster Day: Here Comes Peter Cottonhell

A terrible film. The effects are some of the worst I've seen, F class film student material. Gratuitous nude shots added to appeal to a male audience that isn't really watching the film anyway. Take a look at the directors films to see what your dealing with here.

It's not even funny. They are relying on bad acting to achieve the comedy I think. And women with their boobs jiggling about. The director probably funded the film himself. I can't work out how else this could have been made.

Stratton

Neither great nor terrible. It ran like an average 2 party Sky drama rather than a film. Predictable plot line with the usual betrayal. Several times throughout you'll be left thinking why did a character act in such a way. The way of the villains in these films always seems to be to go the most convoluted route. There were several chances to have executed his plan in the centre... You'll see what I mean!

The Swarm

First and foremost, this is a drama with very little horror. I found the film to be extremely boring from start to finish and didn't care for the characters.

Just when you think something might happen, it doesn't and I was glad when the end credits started to roll.

The poor man's Wicker Man. Scheiße. Just give up after Wrong Turn 3 ( or maybe even 2 ) as the last 3 are crap.

Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines

Better than 4, but that's saying nothing as it was rubbish.

Predictable film with no surprises. What happened to all the townsfolk though? Why did it suddenly become a ghost town?

So far, the first one is still the best followed by 2 and 3. 4 is utter garbage and I'd put 5 on par with 3, maybe slightly worse.

On to 6 to round the original series off! Let's hope it improves, though after the 3rd I'm guessing they ran out of ideas.

Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings

Weakest film in the franchise so far. They could have called this film anything other than "Wrong Turn" as it feels completely out of place alongside the other films. Director, "Hey, let's take the characters out of the woods and put them in a snowy environment".

Yet another dull, cheap horror set inside a sanatorium with annoying teens/twenty-somethings. Offers nothing. Delivers nothing. I hope it returns back to the original films premise.
