Ok, I gave this show 3 chances. I am done. Boring, too slow paced, nothing like the comic. I understand budget constraint, but this is just like season two of The Walking Dead.

@phobic stuttering stanley stuttering stanley - sixth sense ... jk
I really enjoyed season one. The idea that God was going to destroy the Earth and that these people that worked for God were trying to save it was interesting. The ways that they went about trying to create the event that would save the Earth was entertaining.
season 2 is confusing. after successfully saving the Earth from destruction they are suddenly all in the dark ages. But they're not the heavenly deities that they were in season 1. they just seem to be people that are living in the dark ages.
why wouldn't they have done something to the effect of after saving the Earth God says he wants to have more of a fresh start. then bring everyone back to the dark ages. to try and create a better future. But instead of doing it from heaven where they look at monitors and try to direct people. God tells them that they need to be directing the people they're trying to save face to face.
this could have made for more of a season 1 similar situation.

@bookfreak season two was a completely separate story that had no affiliation to the storyline of season one. this is an anthology series. season three will have the same actors playing different characters placed in the old west.
I have no idea what's going on with the second season, it's completely unrelated to the first and unexplained. But It was also a big surprise and honestly I enjoyed it much more than the first season! Definitely recommend giving it a watch for some light entertainment.

@adonael it's an anthology (entirely new story each season) w/ the same general cast/leads. season three will be "set in the year 1844 - old west"
yesterday, 5/21/2020, Schooled was officially cancelled by ABC
very disappointed, as it was a great easy little sitcom to enjoy with a fun cast of characters.

@kahomer sadly, yes, it's true.
Hej guys,
I just finished watching the show, and my two cents: watch it. Here is why:The main characters. Clarita, her husband and her daughter are living in a small town. Their neighbors are a bad ass cop, and a funny weed smoking good cop. The setting reminds me a little bit of Desperate Housewives.
They are a nice family but suddenly something changes. Clarita has no pulse, her body is cold. She cannot eat regular food. She is undead. The family to get through this together - in a funy way.
Can't say too much, because I do not want to spoiler anything. But its rly fun to watch, for example when she is eating a foot like a snack, or drinking a Smoothy.. but instead of fruits... its human flesh. I like the way they try to treat it as normal. All characters are played well. I just don't really like her husband. I won't say its bad acting (well it is not the best), but something is wrong with this guy. It does not feel right. Even the boy next door feels more authentic than her husband. Thats rly the only downside of this TV show I can't find.
I wouldn't call it a Zombie TV Show, because there are so many Zombie movies and TV shows out, and it is very different to what I have seen so far of this "genre" ... if u want to call it like that.
If you are looking for a fun comedy show, which is also a little bit weird and crazy:
Go for it. Have fun!7/10

@ketu Drew Barrymore's character is named Sheila Hammond...Santa Clarita is a city in LA County, California, where the fictional family resides in the series
Natasha Lyonne (Orange is the New Black, American Pie) is trapped in a Psychoalphadiscobetabioaquadooloop until she learns to swim, and catches the rhythm of the strokes..... COMPLETELY clichéd, but oddly watchable, if only for the creative ways she keeps managing to off herself, in spite of desperately trying not to.

i haven't watched the original, but the US version was average, slightly dull/slow, at times, but i binged the entire season in two days, was very disappointed it ended on a cliffhanger, when it could have been a limited series and ended properly, i think A&E mishandled this show
loading replies
@mvx S01 ended on a cliffhanger that was never resolved because it was cancelled. it can be both things and why i included the statement (that still stands) that the network mishandled the show, obviously.

Why is this under shows? The new IT movies should therefore also shows..
loading replies
@hildebread
"Why is this under shows?"
it's considered a TV mini-series because it was made for & aired on television in a series of 2 parts.
"The new IT movies should therefore also shows"
that makes no logical sense. there is a difference between a theatrical movie released in parts; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1 & Part 2, Kill Bill Vol 1 & Vol 2, The Hobbit; An Unexpected Journey, The Desolation of Smaug, and The Battle of the Five Armies...compared to a TV mini-series released in parts on a network channel like several of King's adaptions; The Stand, The Shining, Rose Red, which may feel like movies, but are classified as television series.
Just because there are seven fertilized eggs doesn't mean all of them have to be carried to term (they do commonly freeze excess fertilization in IVF treatment). I'm only about 30 in, but going to call it. Their father was a horrible person who sacrificed his wife and the happiness of all his children rather than abide by the law and be happy with a sustainable solution.
I was right.
loading replies
@w13rdo within the first 5 minutes of the movie >>> the woman made the decision to go full term and died, at that point, the doctor called her contact , which was her father who agreed to care for the children instead of freeze 6 out of the 7 already born babies - the doctor specifically asks the woman's father where the babies' daddy is and he says he didn't know - so the issue you have is, basically, invalid
While it was filmed, it was filmed in Spanish language in the night another time. For this reason, there are two versions of the same movie. Both of them very goods, in Spanish versión the movie seams more dark.

Never tought this was a vampires show!

@nescobar-a-lop-lop you dont have to be a "King buff" to be familiar with 'Jerusalem's Lot'; there are several movie/show adaptations as recent as Castle Rock from 2018/2019 - the source material is what i assumed would be the draw to watch this on a floundering network (Epix) with a cast not known to have a large fan following. the nosferatu hands were in reference to the vampire trope used since 1922 clearly visible in the poster art and finally, the trailer(s) showed the vampires. at no time, do i think the WHAT was the big reveal, but it was the WHO, that was the mystery.
Never tought this was a vampires show!
loading replies
odd, since it was advertised as based on 'Jerusalem's Lot', it's titled after the house and there are nosferatu hands visible in the poster art.
i Do not understand this, is it a movie ? a show ? two movies appeared on Amazon, not shows of 42 minutes. is that it ?

@great_vc same format as Blumhouse's other tv series of full length movies on Hulu called "Into the Dark" - it's just a marketing gimmick
Well... not my favorite edition of this challenge but Symone, Elliott and Gottmik nailed it!
In my opinion Kandy wasn't as good the rest of them in both challenges but obviously they kept her because she brings it to the show, but how many episodes are we going to see that happen?loading replies
@david0542 another Silky Nutmeg Ganache on our hands? i think so.
The dialogue is flat, the plotting random, really bad acting. Nothing was believable to me.
I had a hard time keep watching it to the end.
To me this movie was just awful. But, I guess if you are kid or a teenager, you would like it!!!

Yes, I agree, this episode was rather pointless... seemed to me like a waste of a good episode near the end of season with pointless flashbacks which intended to let us know how the zombie apicalypse began for all of them in the group, but it brought nothinh new and worthy of our interest. The only interesting part of this episode was the Last minute of it. I also do not know why they made flashbacks for everyone except for 10K which os one of my favourites.

10K flashback begins at approximently 22:40

VIPI'm not grading this one so low because I didn't like the death at the end. Heck, seeing that stupid loser die was the highlight of the episode. I'm just so sick of loser Vic and her dysfunctional loser relationships, especially the ones with her loser parents. So of course this episode was something like 95% loser family soap opera and loser decision-making with only about 5% plot development. That prolonged opening eulogy just summed up the problem so perfectly. This is not how you produce an entertaining show, and it's definitely the last season that I'll be watching of this dreck, whether it's renewed or not. I'm a huge compete-ist, but every once in a while something comes along that makes it easy to make an exception, and this show has become a perfect example of it.

@jimgysin im a completist, as well, and i really considered ending this show, at several points, but knowing that it has been officially cancelled has me drugging through these final few episodes - it's been a real struggle.

It is just an okay film. Respect the effort for exploring the new concept. The female leading actor is very young. So, it is like sister and sister the whole story not mother and daughter relationship. They are talented but that’s a bad role choice.
loading replies
@makara-nou the female leading actor, Lupita Nyong'o, is 36 years old and the correct age for the character, in which, she was cast. in fact, she's 4 years older than Winston Duke who plays the father in this same movie. imo, there was a lot you could complain about in this film, but casting was not one.
