Much better than Halloween Kills, and it gives the franchise a nice (temporary?) ending.
The premisse is nice and it has some great gore and scary scenes, I'll give it that. But aside from the good visuals, it's a parade of bad decisions. So many characters made stupid moves starting from the first 10 minutes till the last 10. It makes them unlikable (and yes, it includes the main character, which overreacts so much that I couldn't understand where was all that coming from).
And to top it all off, they make a huge thing about bringing the survivor from the classic movie to make her have 5 minutes of (also dumb) dialogue.
I don't know, I keep watching these hoping horror movies will get better, but honestly I'm starting to believe the genre is decaying..
Watched the first 4 episodes today and I am loving it. It's made by the same guy from all the chucky movies, including the originals, and we can feel the same energy in this tv series.
We learn a bit about the childhood of Charles Lee Ray, we have comedic moments as well as scary ones, just as a chucky movie has gotten us used to.
Some people are talking about the bad acting. I didn't noticed anything unusual, maybe because I'm from another country, I don't know, but so far everything about the show has been a delight to watch for me, as a fan of the original movies.
Nice visual effects and killings, but that's it. We've seen this over and over again, but now it has some actors from the classic movies. It brings nothing new to the story. I personally hated the ending and the characters choices are out of this reality.
Quoting the movie I Know What You Did Last Summer: "When you leave a man for dead, make sure that he's REALLY dead!". Obviously these characters have never seen it.
At this point, they are better creating some spin off of this franchise rather than dragging this dead body for 5 more sequels.
