As an uncultured gay, it pains me to admit that I have not read the novel and I have nothing to compare this adaptation to, but my own expectations and this movie totally meets them. The chemistry between the two leads, the back and forth banter, the well-portrayed and sensual sex scenes; it is a 10 out of 10 recommendation.
Looks like a slow burn TV show. So far, I feel it's a good pace and hopefully will dive into the backstory of both characters. There is certainly chemistry between the two leads. I'm looking forward to the impending conflict between the master and his apprentice.
It is my opinion this show has so far got it right by ANNE RICE!!
The first two episodes were fantastic. It's silly to compare this to game of thrones or hotd considering how antithetical the source materials are to one another. The trailers and character posters looked like they had some spotty cgi and tacky costumes but it all looks stunning in this nearly billion dollar first season. It's already better than any of the hobbit movies and im wildly excited for whats to come after tempered expectations before watching.
This might have been edgy 10 years ago, but we're on the other side of this now.
Sarah Paulson and Courtney B Vance will be up for Emmys. Great acting and somehow compelling even though we all know what happens.
Very good drama... love it...looking forward the second series...
I want to see the second season very soon!!
I was really impressed with Matt Smith in this role. The entire cast was remarkable, but his performance was especially noteworthy. John Lithgow as Winston Churchill seemed strange at first, but really worked and was just as impressive. Claire Foy was lovely to watch and really came to inhabit the role of Elizabeth II.
I'm excited to see how the rest of series plays out, especially if its projected to have 60 episodes depicting Elizabeth's life all the way up to the present day.
Jared Harris and John Lithgow are amazing in their roles. And the high production budget (highest ever for Netflix) really shows. All the scenes look fantastic.
And it got Hans Zimmer doing the music. That should speak for itself.
You have to go in expecting it to be a bit silly and it doesnt have the most talented editor but if you can get past that then you'll find fucking salvation!!! Imagine supernatural if it wasnt a homophobic, misogynistic, racist fuck up of a show. With actually funny as hell lines and great actors!! watch this, its really worth it!
I'm quite liking this show. I don't think it's a particularly original idea, but it's entertaining and i quite like the characters.
Season 1 and 2 were absolutely amazing. Likable characters with a nice bit of humor mixed with the dark and sinister, villains (Henry and Abraham) you simply can't hate either.
Season 3 is rubbish, so so sorry... I hate trash talking a show that used to be my favorite but it's just gone down the deep end and not in a good way. I struggle to get through the episodes and the only thing saving it is Ichabod's humor.
