Started watching Good Girls out of boredom, nothing more than that. However, as I finished episode 1, I continued watching, and after episode 2, I couldn't stop watching, until I binge watched all 10 episodes. And as I have seen them all, I have to admit, I really love this series, and I am really glad to have heard that there will be a second season. It's not truly that original in terms of story, and I don't know how to tell about it without spoiling anything, but it is done in such a way that it keeps you hooked, at least, it did for me.
I really really enjoyed this show. Typically I'm not interested too heavily in shows without a procedural type feel, but with Salvation, the drama and intrigue kept continuing. It was a lot of fun with the conspiracies and drama and I really enjoyed the characters and their interactions with each other. I really hope for a season 2!
This was a wild ride from start to finish. I loved every minute of this (even if it leaves with some questions like "I need to know!!")
Wow, I almost gave up after episode 2. So glad I didn’t. This turned out to be a great series and a very clever take on this type of plot. Final episode is great.
For the most part, this is a wonderful show. There have been a couple segments over these initial 2 seasons where he made some questionable statements, but I'll write those off as well-intentioned mistakes.
The episodes get a bit sloppy/jumbled towards the end (the last 3 episodes, maybe) with a lot of threads left unexplored.. but yeah.. batshit crazy, that's what this is.
I must admit, I wanted to hate this show, simply because I loved the film so much! But I was proven wrong. I think Zoe Kravitz knocks it out of the park. The supporting cast is also pretty solid as well. Definitely a fun, easy watch
A much appreciated reboot of the John Cusack (2000) classic of the same name. Up until this point, I think I grossly underestimated the acting chops of the pint-sized hipster Zoë Kravitz. Performances on the whole were stellar and protagonist Zoë was subtle and empathic where needed …and angsty, sarcastic, witty where unexpected. Not generally a fan of character switch-ups, but she nailed the neurotic imbalances of Rob (aka Robin) and I felt totally engaged throughout each episode. Lisa Bonét (who coincidentally featured as a love interest in the first incarnation) would've been proud of her daughter.
With an approximate runtime of 29 minutes, similar shows of the same duration would have pissed me off. By the time you get engaged, the episode is already finished. However, Hulu's High Fidelity spin-off made for great binge watching as I collapsed one episode after another… good job!
[HBO] A disrespectful documentary that feeds on rumors and sensationalism to reach no conclusion about the death of actress Brittany Murphy. A movie that uses comments from gossip vloggers and interviews people like Perez Hilton has little credibility. The worst thing is the use of images from her movies to underline the comments in a way that seems comical, and that degrades the image of the actress.
[Initial Impression] In this opening salvo for Apple TV+, M. Night Shyamalan gives us a slow reveal on a bizarre situation. Immediately, we discover the foibles of this couple making them not very likeable. I found the obscured camera angles, that I assume were done so to tell their own stories, to be distracting rather than facilitating the story telling. The pace teeters between boring and suspense. And even the suspense lead to a predictable outcome, but the set up for what will happen next and what is the real mystery behind this Servant, promises an underlying greatness to this series. Let's see if it pays off. I give the opening episode an 8 (potentially great) out of 10.
[Season One Verdict] That was disappointing. We put up with a lot, in hope of a season finale payoff: unlikeable characters, distracting camera angles, a preoccupation with culinary gore, all on the promise of unravelling the bizarre mystery. I think it is a crime to renew a series without fulfilling a seasonal arch. It was a waste of effort. No hidden depths here, just false teases. I won't be watching the second season and wish I hadn't watched the first. I give this series a 5 (disappointing) out of 10. [Mystery Thriller]
too slow for me.i HATED it
I liked the first season and was looking forward to watching the second season! But season two is ssssssoooooo bad! I have still no idea where the series is heading to. Very slow episodes in second season. No thrills, no excitement. Nothing! Very boring second season!
First 2 episodes are pretty bad, but you think it might be going somewhere so you hang in there.. and then it becomes a Climitard series about ending all petroleum thereby eliminating travel, transport etc. with ZERO ideas on how to replace said petroleum, transport etc.
Completely idiotic... power is out so everyone has literally tons of candles burning all at the same time - while watching TV and operating their computers with multiple monitors... I'll need to see if that will work in my house - candle powered computer, hmmm
The blind kid it annoying as hell and irrelevant to the entire story other than why they actually went to Paris.
BTW... I'm not spoiler alerting anyone.. I'm saving them from wasting their time.
1/10
