Bridgerton: Season 3

Bridgerton Season 3 Part 1 wastes no time in diving into all of its storylines. There’s plenty for everyone to focus on, but the competing storylines are more often distracting than not. Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton are at the heart and soul of everything. In the midst of all the chaos, they captivate.

Fallout

Fallout is just a damn good sci-fi series, regardless of the lore that already exists.

The series can stand on its own as a brilliant take on the inequities of survival, the constant evils of capitalism, and why you should always have a good dog by your side.

Turtles All the Way Down

While Turtles All the Way Down deals with serious issues like grief and the toll of mental illness, Hannah Marks imbues the movie with such color and humor that the highs and lows feel even more powerful.

Turtles All the Way Down tells a moving story about a teenager's isolating struggle with mental illness, and her resolve to build a life for herself despite it.

The entire cast of Turtles All the Way Down brings something distinct and wonderful to the movie. However, Isabela Merced's performance as Aza will likely go down in the books as one of the most impressive of her career.

The chemistry between Merced and Cree as Aza and Daisy is perhaps the film's greatest strength — and certainly its greatest love story. Their effortless comedy and obvious care for one another make the friendship feel totally believable, and it makes their fights all the more devastating.

Fallout

Fallout is somehow both the best “mystery” show — with multiple twists, clues, and reveals — but it’s also one of the funniest sci-fi shows in a long time.

Season 2 can’t come soon enough!

The Girls on the Bus

It’s been a while since MAX (formerly HBO Max) released an original show that I’ve actually liked.

That’s finally changed though. The Girls on the Bus is incredibly enjoyable to watch. The talent and chemistry amongst the cast is magic. Melissa Benoist shines in every scene she’s in.

Code 8 Part II

With a better story, better special effects, and better character development, Code 8: Part II builds on the core concept of the original film and expands the action.

The edgy buddy chemistry between Robbie and Stephen Amell is where this film succeeds.

Both characters represent the alienation of the almost caste-like system for powered people in a repressive socioeconomic society. The franchise is an X-Men homage, where both men feel they know what may be best for someone with powers.

Echo: 1x01 Chafa

Echo leaps bravely into place, daring to tread a path reminiscent of the gritty Netflix Marvel streets we all fell in loved with.

The raw, brutal, hard-hitting series deeply rooted in Native American culture offers a refreshing shift from the extravagant, CGI-heavy narratives of recent MCU releases.

Its TV-MA rating allows for a darker tone and sets an exciting precedent for the anticipated Daredevil: Born Again series currently in production.

Marvel Studios Echo gets it done, delivering a strong character-driven story that also honors differently abled people as well as the Choctaw Nation.

The Marvels

The Marvels is far from perfect. But, it’s nonetheless entertaining and it's difficult not to get swept up in its infectious energy.

It’s exciting to see three women superheroes actually work together and get none of the Endgame “female empowerment” scenes.

The chemistry between these three leads is a joy to watch. Their comedic timing and warmth make this trio one you immediately want to see more of.

Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan is the heart of the film and she delivers a warm, big-hearted, charming performance.

No one's having more fun in this movie than Kamala Khan.

As an enjoyable entry into the MCU, The Marvels proudly celebrates being unapologetically wild and funny.

Gen V: 1x01 God U.

Gen V is the perfect example of exactly how spin-offs should be handled, the new series extends and enriches the world that is so well shaped in The Boys.

Veronica Mars

Veronica Mars is an excellent. Filled with creatively snarky characters that make Veronica Mars shine with her intelligent quick quips.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

The jokes, my god, the jokes—every syllable is dead on the comic beat. They’re bitter and bright as a stiff gin cocktail.

Supernatural

With clever dialogue and two incredibly-charismatic leads, "Supernatural" rises above most of its genre competition.

Supernatural continues to be one of my favorite shows on television/streaming.

It’s not just the dialogue that's clever, it’s also the way it’s delivered perfectly by each character that makes the it work as well as it does. None of this would be possible without the sensitive, emotional, subtle, and often hilarious performances of Jared Ackles and Jared Padalecki.

It was a show that knew how to expertly balance the overarching plot with monster-of-the-week stories that kept you wanting more.

The Winchesters

I feel the CW has become very censored in being viewer friendly. This would be better developed on a streaming service with the current state of that company.

Supernatural had an edge and darkness to it, but The Winchesters can feel almost juvenile and underdeveloped at times.

I started watching Supernatural when I was 15, and I still love it. It’s been great having a spin-off and seeing this universe live on but damn! Age up the dialogue

Please drop a “son of a bitch” somewhere in the script!

WandaVision

The best thing to come from phase 4 by far. An ode to television that's told in such a unique way.

Marvel maintains their ability of creating relatable characters by humanizing emotions.

Wanda's journey of grief is on point and provides the audience a teachable moment that one is never truly without it.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania continues Marvel Studios path of experimentation. Yes it's a big budget superhero movie but this installment of the Ant-Man movies pivots from the previous two.

It changes the narrative and how we interpret the characters we've come to know.
Marvel is building an overarching story that pays off in time. This is only the end of act one... I think people forget that.

There’s definitely some highs and lows in this film.

The spfx are outstanding. I found myself being reminded of Star Wars at times with he multitude of different creatures and settings. Jonathan Majors is brilliant. Kathryn Newton portrayal of Cassie felt relatable and humbling.

The story seemed a bit underdeveloped and I feel we missed out on some major character development in regards to Cassie. I wish we got more of her story during the blip.

This movie pretty much leads directly into Avengers: The Kang Dynasty an I’m curious to see how these characters get tied back in.
