Good Omens: Season 2

There are many comments here saying that season 2 is bad or woke. But it's neither of those.
It's not bad, it just hasn't the same world ending threat at the end, while being even more emotionally draining on the characters and watchers.
It's not woke, at least not more than the first season.

The first season introduced us to the rules of this world and had a pretty straight forward main story which developed the characters on the side.
This second season is more character driven with a mystery plot on the side. Many parallels, hints and references to its source material and other shows. Great new characters while still Focusing on the main two.

I can't write more without spoiling some things, just know that the ones moaning about how this show is ruined probably only enjoyed the apocalypse plot and did not really care about the characters who stopped it.

Riverdale

This show starts as sexualized glee and ends as a bad version of supernatural.
From high school drama to a show with a fire witch and a time manipulating angel

The Bastard Son & the Devil Himself

So I went into this with not many expectations, and every episode sucked me in deeper.
Every time a series has 3 main characters, I often only get really interested in one of them, sometimes 2 if it's a longer running series. But this series has me interested in all three of the main characters by the end of season 1. Great job and can't wait for more of this!

Mulan

In short: it is a good movie if you don't compare it to the 1998 animated movie.
If you expect a fantastic story about a daughter who smarts her way through a difficult situation to save her father, you're expecting too much. This Mulan already has strength inside which she hides because her father told her woman are not warriors (I really wanted her to solve more problems with her brain). And to show that she decided to show her true self, she throws away part of her not constricting armor and to fight with open hair (I guess because now she is more distinguishable from the other fighters), which most people who have long hair would not do when deciding to ride into a battlefield. Also her horse is magic, how else could it gallop through a rolling avalanche?
Also there were way to little scenes where she trained to pass as a man and interactions between her and the men she trained with, guess it was more important to show us that she had not been acting ladylike since she was a little girl.

Wheels

This movie surprised me in a good way. Though a warning at the beginning: it's not for the faint of heart. It deals with many difficult themes (only some of the triggers: depression, suicidal thoughts/attempts & drugs)
It's not something to watch on the side, it deserves the attention. The two main characters are fucked up, each in their own way. At the end I wished there was another hour of this movie, because it tells it's story in such a well though through way I really loved.
I don't understand it's low rating here. This low budget movie tells a better story than many of the big new ones. If I had to describe in one sentence I'd say: It's a dark, mature version of a Pixar Storyline.

Bonus Family: 3x01 Episode 1

I liked the introduction of the lesbian couple in season 1 and the wedding in season 2's finale.
I hated that one of them died one episode later off screen.
I looked the actress up and found out that she died in between seasons.
Rest in peace, Barbro Margareta Svensson.

You

This show breaks expectations. I LOVE that Joe's thought process is shown in important situations and that time doesn't just stop but other characters noticing how much time he sometimes needs to reply. As a character I just love Joe, though I am afraid about how many people romanticized him/his actions after season one and I think in season 2 he is even more "back'n'forth" between relatively decent and totally f'd up.

Season 2 sidenote
I also really LOVE Robin Lord Taylor as Will. I needed quite some time to recognize him fully, because I only knew him with black hair, I have to check if there is more with him in that I need to watch. :D

  1. It's not like 50shades and that's a good thing.
  2. Don't expect a 'real' depiction of BDSM (I cringed so hard about Mistress May binding her BFF's hands together and leaving him with her sub without his consent , but it has a few nice moments).

update after Season2:
They addressed that Mistress May is not an experienced dominatrix and that she didn't have Pete's consent in season 1. In my opinion this had to be addressed and I hope they keep showing what she did wrong, her way of learning to get better at her job and to develop healthy relationships without her domme side getting in the way.
I like the direction season 2 took and hope they will dive deeper into these characters and why they act like they do. Better than season 1 for me. To be fair, I mostly got stuck with this show because I love Pete/Carter, his Roommate Frank and the German man-servant Rolph, but I start to like Tiff as well.

Buster's Mal Heart

I watched it because of Rami Malek and I wasn't disappointed. His acting was amazing. And lets not forget about DJ Qualls who is

About the movie: It is a little confusing at first, because there are many time jumps back and fourth and it took me a long time to figure out what happened first, but that was never boring to me. Quite the opposite in fact, I already want to rewatch it like I did with season one of "I Robot" to see all the little things I might have missed the first time through.
It's not your typical cinema movie, but it did not feel like an indie movie either. It was something else, but I enjoyed exactly that. Something different from romcoms or superhero movies.

Jupiter Ascending

Two things:
1.
Caine: "I have more in common with a dog than have with you."
Jupiter: "I love dogs. I've always loved dogs."
2.
Caine: "You mean 'Your Majesty'?"
Jupiter: "That really works for me."
I can not be the only one who thought of petplay and D/s-Relationship, can I? XD
