"The Hanja of his name are the very pretty 王黎. His personal name Yeo (黎) has the meaning of "many", as used in describing the people of a nation. He was probably named to always keep his citizens in mind, to always remember to protect them and play the role of a king well. This he did, when he trusted in Shin and sent him to pacify the borders. Stopping the ravages of a war would qualify him to be a good king for sure.
But Yeo also has the meaning of "darkness". We know that the king succumbed to his dark side when he allowed himself to be swayed by his conniving eunuch. And this very darkness that he now embodied was brought upon Goryeo when he decided to indiscriminately kill Shin, the one general he seemed to be simultaneously proud and envious of, and the love of his life, his queen Sun.
The last meaning of Yeo is "until". Now that he's a grim reaper, he needs to repent for that grave sin until the end of time. He needs to hurt so badly every time he sees Sun's portrait until the gods decide to show mercy. He needs to not remember until he's paid off his debts to both Shin and Sun. Wang Yeo needs to wait until the gods smile upon him, and they are capricious."

things finally progressed. i love the dilemma that Dokaebi was in, either he, or his bride would die. Which way would he choose? And finally, Euntak got to know what would happen to her ahjussi, things would therefore progressed more than just misunderstanding and love being hidden. gosh i was like, please euntak, get some sense, stop jumping to conclusion and realized your true emotion. And you too ahjussi, please rip off your image or whatever and tell her everything = =
as usual, i would have missed many many things implied if it hadn't been for dramabeans recap :'( things got so much sense after reading commentaries theres :'(
"although I can’t help feeling that this drama saves all its plot for the last ten minutes of every episode. " can't be more true = =
"It’s a pretty fun world with interesting fantasy elements, and I like all of that, but I’m having a hard time getting into this show, and I keep wanting the plot to mooooove. The overlong episodes and the slow pace make me antsy, even though I keep waiting to fall in love with the show, like I feel like I’m meant to. But the plot tends to run in circles and waits a lot, pausing frequently to draw on the melo line. Which is great if you love the melo line, but not if you don’t feel the romance, which is where I am."
"SHARE A SUBWAY, SAVE A LIFE." omg i loled so much at this comment. seriously the timescreen of those ppl is REAALLLLLY.... i guess that's why this drama could have done so many amazing overwhelming scenes
"The acting of subway makes other actors' acting look like nothing, subway keeps the relevancee in every drama, that's why subway-ssi gets casted, to keep 'em classy." omg these people =))))
"I'm hoping for a Truck of Doom with the Subway logo painted on its side" "OMG YES. Here is your order of "PARADISE". AND ITS A SANDWICH" omg =)))))))))

btw i think i have to change the channel to watch this drama. the one i'm subscribing is so bad in translation that leaded me to misunderstood that this drama had bad convo = =
a great historical drama that i would not hesistantly recommend.
though a lot of people have to die, but the ending is so touching and hopefully. i'm amazed by the scene that everyone is gaksital, everyone can be the national hero. an ocean full of white on the national hatred day is so overwhelming.
so to sum up, i rate this 8/10 for these following reasons:
1. Context: this one based on a comic, so the context as well as story is undoubtedly well-built. no need to reconsider
2. Film set, costuming: will bring you back to eighteens', nineteen's. everything is so well-handled, you couldn't even find a single glitch. The Kyungsung Imperial Police's uniform is a big big plus point, (Joowon looks really great in it :'( ), and apart from Rie and Madame's colorful but still gorgeous costumes, the others' are so simple in design but still meet the quality.
3. Cinematography: This drama got filmed a lot outside, which is also another hugh plus, since Korean nature got potraited so well through that. Some amazing scenes can be named such as: the flower field (where Kangto and Shunji rode the bike and cry together), the wood near the circus and Shunji's elementary school (where Mokdan used to await Gaksital - a totally green scenery, very beautiful), the rice field in winter (in their young days' scenes), the Geumhwaseon
4. Action scenes: Quite good if taking into consider that this is a Korean drama (not Chinese ones whose everyone learns kungfu...) Some is a little bit distracted since Gaksital and the pioneers in the army all have a tendency to jump so high and the opposite still couldnt avoid it. Sometimes i was even like wtf... but I have to admit that the action director did a great job. Kicks are really great and pleasing to see...
5. Music: I especially love the one sung in Latin, i think it is some kind of bibble...
6. The pace: good, no dragging too much, some first eps have nice cliffhanger that provoke your curiosity.
7. Characterization: It might be cliches that heroes used to be jerk, and bad guys all have their stories, but when being potraited by 2 main actors, things turned out so well that nothing is awkward anymore. Park Kiwoong did a really good job, his transformation is even much more impressive than Kangto's.
What i really love is that scene written had involve love stories in this historical drama so well that audience wouldn't find it annoyed at all. Love became thing that tied all the lead actors in such complicated relationship, where one loves one, but that one loves another. A circuit with no ending, and leave great impact on what they did after.
