I'm already fascinated by kitchens behind the scenes, but this shows acting and dialogue take it to a whole other level. I relate so much to the flaws of the main characters.
a show that haunts me in its dark tragedy of a story. A wonderful story of two stubborn people who are not bad people but end up making bad decisions that end up making them bad people. The Asian representation is apart.of the story, but also normalized to where it's not the main attraction of this show.
What a beautiful, heart breaking film. Still holds up after all these years. Film making at its finest in regards to the visually dense and meaningful backdrops that contribute to the storytelling and world building. The only true flaw is Julianne Moore's acting and lack of chemistry with Clive.
The social experiments and bizarre situations are what have me crackin' up!
A classic. Shaped my childhood by the goriness that unfolds.
Still holds up. Still evokes an intensity appt of other horror films don't match.
I don't even like super hero films but this to me is easily in the top 5 best super hero films. Granted it helps that I knew a good amount of the backstory, but otherwise a thrilling show.
Everyone I watch it, it still engages me. The visuals in several scenes are becoming dated, but the pacing and structure of the film still holds up.
My personal favorite from the Disney Renaissance
Such a beautiful film, story wise and visually
The first half of the film is a masterpiece. The other half, starting at the snakebite, is all over the place, with an unnecessarily mawkish film montage at the end. I think dismissing this film is a travesty. This may be the Heaven's Gate of this current generation, but Damien's visually dense scenes are what keep me drawn in. If this was turned into a mini series, and the character development was more focused, this would have had rave reviews and accolades. Alas, this is a flawed masterpiece that should have had some additional script revisions in my book.
Im not even a fan of marvel, but this was actually quite enjoyable. A dose of nostalgia wrapped around an unfamiliar concept.
Like a really long episode of Bob's burgers
A good old romp of a time
A good time, especially if you're a young white dude.
Hated it as a kid because it wasn't gory enough. Now I can appreciate it for what it is.
The character development isn't as strong as the first one, but Jesus the visuals alone are bonkers.
Alot of heart and snow crazy animations and at design that made this a fun one to watch.
As cliche as allot of things may be, they execute it well to where youre along for the ride rather than rolling your eyes. Fun to watch even on multiple watches.
I was resistant to watching this for a long time, but it actually was a well done movie. Some jokes don't agree well, but as a whole, it kept me engaged.
Still a fun watch that holds up
I didn't think I would like it, but this is a classic
Still mesmerizing in its unsettling grip of reality, while feeling scary and sexual at the same time.
I dont get the hate for this film. A well paced whodunit with great acting and even better delivery of jokes. I admit I had low expectations going in, but I was actually impressed with the end result.
Fast paced, yet dense with content. Olivia Colman is having the time of her life hamming it up and it shows! Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz were a powerhouse duo together. Granted, the ending left me feeling empty, but on reflection, that was the point. While this film doesnt strike as close of a chord as Poor THings, this is still a fun romp of a period drama thats witty, brooding, and tense all at once.
the over the top barfing and goriness, along with the happy music and corny interactions really set the tone for this fun watch of a show. perhaps the Bohemian approach to life or the lack of concern for etiquette is what's really appealing about this
While it seems Sony said, "Lets ride on the success of The Last of Us with our own video game IP adaptation", but ended up with this. Its 90s nostalgic out the wazoo, feels like the humour of a 16 year old boy, but then injects solid storytelling and gore to provide an overall quite enjoyable experience. Anthony Mackie's humour reminds me of Chris Pine from Dungeons and Dragons, but more gruff.
While it took a while to get engaged, this film accomplished it's main goals (don't want to give anything away). This felt like it could have been produced 30 years ago and still be relevant. It's not flashy or fast paced, it's grounded in reality and it's slow in its pacing. It feels like I'm following an average man, mired in his black identity, while experiencing wholesome as well as heartbreaking moments.
Childhood nostalgia fuels the rewatching of this film. Honestly, this film is starting to show its age. The dialogue is flat when Bruce Wayne is present, theres no chemistry between Basinger and Keaton, the sound mixing could be better with the low volume of the dialogue, and the lighting is not nearly as moody as its future sequels. But Jack Nicholson's performance is still a delight to watch. There are action scenes that intrigue me. And back in the day, this really did lay the groundwork for a moody, dark superhero movie to be in the mainstream.
7.5? Visually, this film is iconic and inspired so much (especially Mortal Kombat). It’s a fun, action filled film, although there were some moments that could have been tweaked that would have made this even better
