Everything is a joke, even this movie.
It would be great if the total length would be 20 min. Really boring.
Why was this movie ever made? Why??
Disappointing is putting it mildly, DiCaprio good as always, but the movie is really bad, with silly humor that didn't even bring a smile to my face.
Stellar cast, wasted on a bad movie... I wonder how they got them to participate.
Don't watch it, boring as hell.
I have trouble understanding how this movie is so highly rated. It started off strong but i really disliked all the social media, pop culture and political climate parts.
To me its badly balanced between trying to be funny and trying to be entertaining in other ways.
:heart:x0 (yes that's correct zero stars)
DO NOT WATCH!!
This is simply said - just an absolutely horrible piece of crap!!
First, it's trying to be a political and social satire - but it fails. But it somehow also tries to be a disaster movie - and again it fails.
It's like watching a couple of level-headed people dealing with an entire world of Trump clones.
This is nothing more than garbage.
DO NOT WATCH!!
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
So desapointed with the movie and its messages
Imagine, if you will, your typical low-budget film. Then imagine that movie had its budget cut in half. Furthermore, the movie had to hire a (former) A-List actor, so ANY money they had went to that end. The director, now pennyless, has to fire the prop crew, any and all vfx artists, en most of the camera crew. Editing is farmed out to a nephew, and stunt coordination is done by an art school student on internship. There wasn't even money left over for a plot, or decent actors.
This movie doesn't even tickle the "it's so bad it's good" reflex. It's just a very badly made, straight-to-vhs, low budget pewpew action flick which happens to also star Bruce Willis for reasons unknown. Horrible cinematography, atrocious audio, it really has NO redeeming quality I could find. Would rather be rodgered by a rhino than watch this again,
This movie would have worked if it was a comedy...... An actual comedy with funny bits, lines or people. Otherwise it's just an E grade horror.
The original Kingsman were action packed fun movies that were very entertaining and surprising with some very colorful characters, and I had the same expectations for The Kings Man but they just took too a historical route which made it too long to get to the origins of the Kings Man - I wanted to love the movie, and enjoyed the first too and this was fun but not nearly as good and funny as the originals, that's the simplest way to put it.
Well, so I just saw this movie for the first time yesterday. Almost 40 years after it was released. A bit late yeah, but it never really seemed interesting enough to check out. And what can i say? To be honest, I expected the movie to be pretty bad considering how much praise it gets (usually in horror that's a sure sign it's only trendy to like it somehow). But I never expected it to be this bad.
The characters are just a big mess. The acting is atrocious and the casting choices are very weird. Everybody looks way to old for the role they play, and the dialogues are just some of the worst I've ever heard. My favorite being Laurie saying "was that the boogeyman?" which had me burst out in laughter. Great stuff. Anyway, none of the characters ever sound realistic in any way. And there is NO chemistry with any character and I mean zero. Michael Myers himself is just nothing special at all. The opening scene with him is pretty great tbh (when he's a little kid), but after that, it's all downhill, and we don't get to know anything about him at all whatsoever. He's truly lacking any character whatsoever. He doesn't speak or even have motives. He just goes around strangling people. Yeah very creative.
The story is among the worst I've ever seen. Almost not a single thing makes sense, and it becomes very slapstick at times. It is the perfect example of all the archetypes everybody hates in horror movies like "go randomly into the closet" and "stab the killer and toss the knife away afterwards and sit and wait for him to get up" or my personal favorite "just give him the car". The main storyline itself is extremely narrow and it truly feels random. For like 70% of the movie there are no real interactions of any kind between anyone and some overgrown babysitters just sees spooky things and gets killed in (extremely) predictable and stupid ways. There is a doctor too, but that part is so ludicrous that it almost seems to be for comedic relief. He's sure funny when he breaks out his doomy and gloomy speeches, I'll give him that. Especially when he's peeking on the kids from behind the bush. That was hilarious. The ending is atrocious too. Worst end sequence I've seen in a while. And that brings us to...
The directing is simply awful. Some shots drag out for a laughable long time, so much that it gets really awkward. And there is so much repetition too, and some parts that (I guess) is supposed to be scary just looks very funny. Like the times when Michael collapses. Or when they are being tailed by a car accompanying the "creepy music" for like the 5th time in like 10 minutes. The editing is poor also, like when Michael cracks the car window. And the movie is shot in such a way that not many scares are unexpected. It's a very predictable movie. Like the music will always let you know well before hand when something creepy is about to happen. Which brings us to...
The score is very amateurish and very often plain bad. Yes the main theme is kinda good, but not after you've heard it slapped on like 50 scenes. It starts to get funny after a while to always hear that tune. Not very scary.
Overall, the movie felt like a very bad low budget horror of it's time. But would it have been better back in the days? Hell no. It's a bad movie, no matter what time period it's from. It's just a very trendy movie, and now that I've finally seen it, I can safely say that I wasn't missing out on anything. Phew.
Wish it was a bit longer with more character depth and make it more scarier like the games. But I would watch a sequel!
this is a stand alone and great. Great zombies. characters
This is perfect. That's the level of art that Nolan, Woody Allen, Scorsese, Tarantino, Spilberg and Hitchcok have tried to achieved but failed miserably.
I usually love Statham movies but this fell flat for me. Too much story build up trying to be something better than it is and very little actual action. Compared to other Statham movies the fight scenes were lacking and the big finale was pretty pants. It just felt like it stumbled from scene to scene and while I was mostly bored I held out hope for a decent ending that didn't come. I guess this is to be expected from Guy Ritchie.... Disappointed. Finally what story there was, was just same old and uninspired. Nothing of interested to see here
This is a ridiculous movie. The thing of it is, that the plot had the potential to be a great movie... And they screwed it up spectacularly!
The ham fisted attempts at well timed, slick humour in tense situations in the manner of iconic films like Oceans Eleven are just too much to bear. As the movie rambles on, it's damn near impossible to make sense of these unfathomable plot lines and annoying characters.
As for the main character Connor? He is most definitely no Elliott Alderson.
Absolute abomination of a movie based around a genuinely interesting topic.
very boring. not very interesting just boring, and honestly a waste of time
It is stupid and silly, but friggan hilarious! One of my favs!
One of the worst movies I have seen!! Utter crap. 1/10.
This movie was painfully boring, and didn't contain a single likeable character. It was like watching a whiney CW teen drama. What wasn't boring, was borderline nonsensical.
Don't waste your time with this one, especially if you are a fan of the previous x-men movies.
The movie is a pretentious piece of shit, a James Bond movie with people walking backguards and time travels. But the protagonist is maybe the worst actor I've ever seen... and I saw a lot of bad actors.
It's quite difficult to understand this film, and I'm not speaking about the time paradox. Absence of plot, no character building, no emotions, poor sound mixing add to the confusion. Looks more like a bunch of demos of special effects put together to impress.
This movie is absolutely worse if you understand physics or are a student of physics. Nolan burnt hundreds of millions into this and didn't bother to consult even a high school physics teacher? Does he know what entropy is. Does he think entropy and time are same things? I understand we need to keep our brains at home when watching scifi but the plot is so convoluted and complex that I cannot forgive the stupidity of the premise. This movie is a stupid person's idea of what an intelligent movie might be.
Watched this last night with my daughter. The fight choreography was actually really well done in some of the movie fights. The story was cheesy but it was what I actually wanted. Overall the movie feels like the first Mortal Kombat movie. It is completely cheesy but is a lot of fun to watch. Also seeing Nicolas Cage in a crazy guy role wielding a sword was pretty bad ass.
I took a flyer on this (no pun intended) only because Joseph Gordon-Levitt was in it - he virtually guarantees a good movie. I knew nothing about the movie at all. As per usual Gordon-Levitt delivered a superb movie that was action-packed from beginning to end, which is particularly hard when the entire movie takes place inside the cockpit of the plane! Solid 10/10
Cash Grab: The Boy II
clearly a knockoff of Annabelle , at this point - this second installment, Brahms, completely disregards the twist of first movie even though the original Director and Writer return and has zero nuance of tension or logical storyline.
I thought that this was an excellent sequel to the original Frankenstein. The story was very interesting and entertaining, just like the original film. I actually think this film is better than it's predecessor. There were a lot of briliant scenes, I thought the scene in which Frankenstein becomes friends with a blind man who lives alone in the forrest was beautiful. The ending scene was great as well, after Henry Frankenstein and his wife escape from the tower in which he created the monster, the monster destroyes the building and kills everyone in it (including the bride).
