One of the funniest and entertaining movies I watched in my life. And I watch loads of movies!
AMAZING movie! Brad and Joey are just brilliant. This is a MUST-WATCH!
That was ridiculous.... But brilliant!
Best movie 2022. Best actor: Ryan Reynolds
If you love Coen movies, this one is a must!
It reminds me of Pulp Fiction
Genuinely loved this movie and blew past my expectations, loved every character in the film, totally colorful production with the right kind of thriller. Loved the way the story line went and connecting the dots, getting introduced to the bad guys, a story within a story and figuring out how it all came together with Brad Pitt in the middle of this entertaining rollercoaster.
I bought all of Kotaro Osaka's novels after watching this movie including Bullet Train
I liked the movie so much I watched it twice, and just as fun the second time around.
This was the wildest ride. It completely blew all my expectations. Watch if you want a fun, great action movie.
Captivating, well put together, hilarious, top noch performance from the cast. A movie I never new I needed.
Such a treat to watch in the cinema. One of my favourites of the year already, funny and great acting by the cast. Great soundtrack as well!
Haven't laughed this much during a movie in a long time.
Fun, crazy, fun, fun, crazy, Brad Pitt, fun, wild, Sandra Bullock, funny, outstanding performances by every member of the cast, outrageous, fun, crazy. Oh, I really liked this movie. It's entertainment!
Good old fashion crime action film on a bullet train.
Not quite a "10" , but pretty darn close if you're looking for a fun actioner, where even some of the "bad" guys are kind of likeable, and the lead (Pitt's "Ladybug") is pretty much perfectly cast. Based on Kotaro Isaka's best selling novel, the film version does take some liberties with the characters as far as their ethnicities are concerned, as well as (IMO) the only glaring miscasting of the big bad which lacked believability, and caused me to briefly discard my suspension of disbelief, but overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, which I can wholeheartedly recommend. Hiroyuki Sanada is ALWAYS a welcome addition to pretty much any film he's ever been in, as is, of course, Miss Congeniality herself, Sandra Bullock, although she is used sparingly as "Ladybug's" handler.
The rest of the supporting cast, especially ("Kick-Ass" Himself) Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry are comically villainous counterpoints to Pitts charmingly successful but at times unlucky character, and, I liked the way the story intercut their backstories to tie their present situations all together. Again, if you're looking for Shakespeare, best catch another train, but if non stop comic mayhem is what you seek, grab a ticket, and take a ride on the this express train to chaos-town.
@Lazo - .....or, action-wise at least, a more gender mixed version of "Gunpowder Milkshake". ;-)
Hmmmm....,Will THIS be 2024's "Bullet Train?:

Such a blast!
Personally, I wasn't expecting much from 'Bullet Train' at all. The (most overplayed) trailer didn't fill with me with much interest and I thought the bullet train aspect would be gimmicky and perhaps even too limiting. However, to my surprise it's the exact opposite to all that. It's supremely entertaining and very amusing!
I love the whole style of the film, the editing is top notch. the bloody visuals are class and the music is superbly chosen - every track hits. Then you also have an excellent cast. I thought, again based on the trailer(s) that I saw, it would be a run-of-the-mill Brad Pitt feature, but his performance is terrific throughout.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry are a quality double act, I thought their accents and dynamic would get tiresome but if anything I enjoyed them the more I saw them - funny guys! Joey King was the only character I wasn't sold on during the film, though by the end I dug her performance too.
Andrew Koji and Hiroyuki Sanada are also very good, while Michael Shannon, Benito A. Martínez Ocasio (aka Bad Bunny) and Zazie Beetz are welcomed cast members as well. There are also a few other noteworthy people involved, including two that Pitt knows well from a different 2022 flick. Seriously, what a cast!
If I had to mention one gripe, it would be the run time/pacing - this is me nit-picking, though at like one or two (no more than that) moments I did feel like it wasn't paced incredibly. Again, no biggie though. All in all, I most definitely had a great time with this and would certainly recommend it.*
*still, if you want an even greater film set entirely on a train then you gotta check out the outstanding 'Source Code' - one of my favourites!
Premise - 17/20 - I was definitely opting in early based on the premise and the trailer. I could always use a good original action movie with a good cast.
Cast/characters - 19/20 - I knew most of these actors, so that was a good start. It was great to see Joey King hold her own against the big boys. I love her! Quite the diverse set of characters, and they all had a back story. You know it's a great ensemble when no one person takes over the movie.
Story - 17/20 - Don't look away, that's all I'm saying. So many character stories all coming together a bit at a time.
Dialogue - 18/20 - The sarcasm ran rampant, and the intelligent discussions were enjoyable. You can really learn about the paradigm of Thomas the Tank Engine.
World-building - 15/20 - You don't have to understand or learn anything to get this movie, but the incredibly complex storyline forces the viewer to get engrossed in the characters' lives really quickly.
86/100 - 4.5/5 stars - It starts quickly and it goes fast. As Ferris would say, "If you don't stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it." I loved it and I know I'll be watching it again.
I am aware that I am more positive about "Bullet Train" than most critics. But I had so much fun watching it again that I can overlook a few inconsistencies and a slightly weaker final act. The script is clever, and the characters are delightfully quirky, as well as perfectly cast. Furthermore, the humor is consistent throughout. The biggest draw, however, is the action. It's perfectly staged, easy to follow, and the emphasis on stunt work is refreshing in comparison to many other genre representatives. What more could you ask for in an action film?
This was a fund movie indeed, and quite woke-free at that. The fact that the woke crap site Rotten Tomatoes has marked it as rotten (despite it having more than 50% positive critics reviews) was a good sign of course.
It is an action/comedy about an unbelievably unlucky (and a bit stupid) assassin played by Brad Pitt. The movie mixes action, comedy, a bit of suspense and a fair amount of gore in a quite enjoyable package.
The movie balances the comedy bits right on the line where it would turn silly and cringe-worthy but there was really only one place where I went “Oh no, what the f…?”.
The action bits are overall quite good but this is Hollywood with their armada of clueless script writers so sometimes they get a bit ridiculous. Like being able to hang on to the outside of a bullet train while it speeds away.
Although fairly unbelievable and over the top, the core story actually makes some sense but then, it was not written by some Hollywood hack but instead based on a novel.
Overall it was a fun movie with a lot of laughs. The end twist with the tangerine truck was absolutely hilarious.
Hey, really good movie. I‘ve seen it twice at the cinema. Action with a lot to laugh. And a interesting setting in the Japanese train.
fantastic movie. Brad Pitt plays a great role
What a great movie! Starts out slowish, and is super confusing, wife left halfway through to her detriment! That's when things start coming together. Watch the whole movie! All of it!
Great new gen version of a comedy action movie!
The worst thing about this movie is the CGI. Great plot, cool action scenes, an over the top crazy characters.
It amuses me that the three reviews prior to this were a 4, 6 and 10 because I think that sums it up perfectly. There are going to be some that dislike it, some that find it meh but those that like it, will probably love it.
I'm in the latter group, by the way.
What if early career Guy Ritchie was asked to make a happy-go-lucky ensemble version of John Wick? Bullet Train. And that's no knock on the film. It was tremendously fun with a near-perfect cast, great banter, and plenty of action. Heck, even the big name cameos are riot instead of a distraction. I had low-ish expectations going in and was just blown away by how much I enjoyed this, even with some of the dodgy CGI at the end.
In the genre "Tarantino style copycats" this is the best I've seen in a while. Better than Tarantino's last 2.
"Bullet Train" is a Japanese film directed by Ryuichi Hiroki and based on the novel of the same name written by Kōtarō Isaka. The film tells the story of two passengers who travel on a bullet train and begin to talk about their lives and their problems. As the conversation continues, they begin to connect emotionally and realize they have more in common than they thought.
The film is a reflection on life, love, and human relationships, showing how people can have an impact on each other's lives through small actions and words. The dialogues are deep and well-written, and the actors do an excellent job in conveying the emotions of the characters. Additionally, the direction and photography are excellent, creating a relaxed and reflective atmosphere that perfectly suits the tone of the film.
Overall, Bullet Train is a highly recommended film for those who are looking for a reflective and emotional story. It's a mature and thought-provoking film that invites the viewer to reflect on their own lives and relationships. The rating of 9 out of 10 is well-justified, this film is a gem of Japanese cinema.
One of the most entertaining movies I have seen in quite some time. Funny all the way through, amazing action scenes, great actors (and cameos!). 9
Shockingly amazing movie!
:star_struck: The Casting
:boom: The Action
 The Comedy
:exploding_head: The Plot Twist
:astonished: The Cameos
From beginning to end this movie had EVERYTHING! I highly recommend this movie for anyone looking for a refreshing storyline filled with action and comedy!
Don't understand the bad reviews. For me it was insanely good entertainment that reminded me of Tarantino again and again. The cast was really good and made up for the rather poor storyline for me. The movie doesn't take itself seriously at any point. Sure, if an often blunt humor is not for you, this whole movie is not for you.
I just love Brian Tyree Henry in combination with Thomas the Tank too much.
Such a great movie from begging to end.
Everything was amazing.
The action
The comedy
The cameos
The plot twist
The Casting
My only gripe is the physics. (yes I'm a nerd) The train goes 130mph so some of these scenes triggered my ocd. Other than that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE
This was stop and go for a while there. I wasn't sure if I was gonna end up liking it. I'm particularly sensitive when characters I like die for seemingly no reason.
At the end of the film though I struggle to find anything I didn't like. I wasn't a fan of Joey King but whatever her character was fine, the writing for her was fine, and her acting was good enough. I just, didn't like her.
Brad Pitt fit the role like a glove. He just inhabited Ladybug. Everyone else was excellent the production design was colorful and well lit and cinematography did some interesting things. It kept me interested all the way to the end which not every movie can do. Love it had a good time. Kinda wanted more Zazie Beets because her character was hilarious.
It was great, enjoyed every second.
This movie is awesome..must see
In the words of Thomas the Tank Engine,"The simpler the better!" The adventures of an iron suitcase and a bottle of water, or How to learn to live in peace with yourself. A cool nod to the best works of Quentin and Guy in the form of a slasher on the train, where the sinister yakuza lured their offenders.More Tarantino-logs would be here, but Lemon and Mandarin were close ...
This was such a good movie. One of the few I've actually enjoyed this year. Will definitely watch again!
It's not the kind of movie that's gonna win any award (probably), but if you want something to switch your brain off and just sit in for some action and laughs at the end of the day/week, it's absolutely perfect. Big budget, high production value, and of course totally nonsensical without much in the way of realism, but all that is exactly what makes it awesome. Definitely hits that Kill Bill vibe in all the right spots, and dilutes it with a touch more humour. Recommended if you want to be entertained and don't mind a bit of gore.
This movie is incredibly stupid in so many ways.
I loved it.
Overall, quite a fun movie, I did quite enjoy it. But the whole time I could not shake a feeling. A feeling that I'm watching a US remake of a better Japanese movie. There have been many in the past. This one feels the same, as an American movie with a Japanese backdrop. And that just makes it feel fake overall. They did not even bother to hire Japanese actors for the Japanese yakuza. Just why?
I think I will just read the book next time. Should be better.
For me, this is the last movie I'm watching with Sandra Bullock. Her scary plastic face will haunt me forever in my nightmares
Edit: After watching it two more times, I still have the same issues with the movie, but I have to up the rating to 9, as it's just too much fun and you notice so many things when you watch it again.
If you don't like this movie, you're probably no fun to be around.
Is it just me or is this really a satire on fate?
The way they kept bringing up that topic makes it feel absurd and even comedic at times. But it is even most evident during the ending when the elder said that everything was fated to happen but then got beat the shit out of him and would have just dropped dead if not for some plastic bottle. And the White Death? He planned everything only for it to be ruined by a stomach problem. So yeah I think it was a diss on destiny until I thought that you can also use that argument for the other side, like those silly coincidences happened because fate needed it to happen. Yeah, I don't really know. I'm just spouting nonsense here. The only thing I know is that it's a good casual fun action adventure movie and I'll leave it at that.
Pretty darn close to a 10 … and I pretty much never give out 10’s. Action was excellent… plenty of comic relief. Characters are interesting … conversations in between the action … excellent. When done well … this type of film is as much fun as you can get watching a movie. And this was done well.
I really like this movie but I completely understand those who don't. The actual plot is lacklustre but it has a repeating chaos that never let's a single moment go boring. The directors were not going for Oscars with this one.
If fun is your objective, constant chaotic fun, watch it.
Highly recommend this movie. So much more entertaining than I expected it to be. And even had me laughing my ass off several times, too. Well done!!
What a fun movie! The fight scenes were some of the funniest parts of the movie. I thoroughly enjoyed this one - even with the crazy web of a plot that brought all the characters together on the train. Definitely worth a rewatch.
A fun watch at the cinemas. Audience was laughing throughout. I think a good crowd can certainly impact one's own enjoyment. A fun actioner w some good comedic chops. Some over the top silliness of course , but that's part of the charm I suppose. 7.9. Highly recommended for folks that know what they're getting into. Surprised critics are under 60% on rt. Too silly I suppose for some.
It is the action fun package with fast scenes. This is what you expect to see. Watch, smile and move on. 7.5/10
Gave the movie 8 of 10. It‘s a good action and comedy, 2h non-stop get a punch in a face movie with too much green screen scenes. Overall ok, but not really worth to see it a second time.
aaron taylor johnson and brian tyree henry were the absolute best part of this movie. that and all the cameos i had no idea about because i went into the movie blind.
Action was fast as bullet, on the right tracks with the cast and the plot was the right destination, loved it from getting on the train to getting off the train, a fun film with also some great effects along with a cool sense of humour.
I really liked it. If you like that British comedy that’s comparable to Shaun Of The Dead, than you’ll love this. It’s just a action movie instead, but the humor is so on point.
Really good! It doesn't get boring for even one second, couldn't look away. Loved all the goofy characters and jokes. Strong Tarantino vibes. It's more 7.5/10 but I'd rather rate it up than down.
Good fun movie. The brothers were great. :thumbsup_tone1:
Excessively good movie.
A bit of Kill Bill with a bit of Pulp Fiction and a lot of Tarantino!!!
Very promising director, I want more!
It was a good once watch movie. Definitely 7 stars. +1 for Brad Pitt's performance. He just nailed it for me.
This was a very refreshing movie. It has been a while since I have enjoyed a movie this much. The characters kept coming one after another, each more interesting than the previous. The story was also carefully put. Cinematography was top-notch. The movie kept giving till the last scene.
When I saw this trailer originally, I was not impressed. It did not really seem like my cup of tea, but I was certainly wrong. It’s a chaotic good time that is packed with cameos. It reminds me of a similar vibe as Scott Pilgrim vs The World. I don’t think this will too many movie of the year lists, but it will be enjoyed by many
Rating: 3.5/5 - 8/10 - Would Recommend
Goofy, funny and cool. This movie just worked for me. Likeable cast, cool action and most of the jokes landed.
I loved this movie, it was so fun!
I really recommend This movie for anyone who want to have 2 hour's of action comedy, really this was so funny and like u don't have to think about plot or feel stressed or anything
the way of camera moves and soundtracks ( thoseee so good song's), besides the chosen lights make it really awesome
liked
andddd may watch it again later
this surely was a surprise. i expected nothing and got almost everything. i was afraid i will see another 0815 big budget action movie like almost everyone we got the last years. but this movie was clever, fun, suspenseful, really enjoyable and hat a fantastic soundtrack. i will definitely rewatch this. several times.
Sandra Bullock's face looks like a train wreck
This here is one of those rare gems. Brilliant performance from the entire cast, excellently written storyline, and packs a lot of action and laughs. A truly satisfying experience.
:heart:x8
That was a darn good movie. Lots of fun.
The whole time I'm thinking there's something about this movie that feels really familiar. Then, thanks to a special guest appearance by Ryan Reynolds it clicked and I understood why.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
Thoroughly enjoyable romp. Comes close to the line of ridiculousness on several occasions but deftly navigates to a satisfying conclusion.
8/10
Fun, insane, great story telling, great cast and great acting.....felt a little bit too long. But definitely had fun watching this one in IMAX. 8/10
Funny, serious with a well written plot and just enough crazy to keep it going.
Everyone involved did a fantastic job.
Best action movie of 2022 so far.
白死神太拉垮,选角味就不对, watched at 2023-05-12, imported from douban
Theme- 7.5/10
Rewatchibility- 8/10
Acting- 9/10
Kinematography- 7/10
Time- 7.5/10
Total - 39/5 = 7.8
This is a surprisingly great fun film. Love that it doesn’t take itself too seriously and is a bit OTT.
Was concerned it was a bit more generic action coming into it but this was so much fun!
7.8/10
The concept alone is worth considering. Everything is progressively intertwined and it becomes enjoyable, especially since we have to deal with a nice cast of characters and tasty dialogues. Mention to the visual of the film, very typical and which goes to the end of its delirium.
The most Guy Ritchie movie I've seen in a long time. Tons of fun!
Nice cinematography, good and funny characters, great directing a lot of humor and more good stuff. This movie was refresing and you couldn't be bored i enjoyed it from the first minute. 7.5/10
With continuous twists in the script, I would like the bad luck of Brad Pitt.
generally great imagery, awesome use of neon light. complicate and interconnect plots are explained masterfully and the narrative was easy to follow
good show
在现在的电影中特效少故事的情况下,能看到一个不错的故事还是不错的,虽然说很多地方经不起推敲,没有意义,但是还是值得一看。We have not seen many stories in the past two years. The soundtrack of this film is quite good. This soundtrack can help the story to advance. Let's take a look at the excellent performance of the veteran actors, which adds a lot of points to this film which is not outstanding.
Very enjoyable action pic that surpassed my expectations. Reminded me of some of the train journeys I have taken in the past, such as the moment when I hung off the back of a speeding train, like Pitt does here. Good times.
Bullet Train is a fast paced action packed adventure filled with great laughs and brutal fight sequences. This film is incredibly self aware, and I say that as compliment. It has fun with itself, and manages some serious story points with humor in a pleasant way. The cast is stacked and delivers excellent performances with some fun surprise cameos along the way. With the story being so full, I felt that it was trying to do too much and be a bit too cleaver. There were times where I had to backpedal in my head to keep track of all the characters and how they connect. I did find that the movie dragged on a bit towards the end, I'm not sure if this story warranted the two hour runtime. There were some lines that were mixed poorly where is difficult for me to hear what the actors were saying. Although, that could have been due to the bass of the theatre speakers. Overall, Bullet Train is a fun time and worth a watch in theaters.
Score: 75%
Verdict: Good
I went into this film totally blind and had a blast. An over the top action film with a Guy Ritchie-esque story and style? Sign me up. The writing was clever, there were plenty of genuine laughs, the performances were solid, and the action scenes that tied it all together were creative and fun. Brad Pitt was dependable as always, but the real standouts for me were Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry as Tangerine and Lemon. Their hilarious duo provided the most entertaining and fully fleshed out B-Plot, with stellar performances and humor/style to spare.
I did have some small issues with the film, especially in the final act. The big action set piece was way too much for my tastes, crossing the line into over the top Marvel-esque action that clashed with the rest of the film. I have to believe they could have come up with a clever, smaller scale finale that wouldn't need to resort to such a meaningless CGI fest (and save millions in the process). Additionally, and perhaps relatedly, the dialogue and performances during that portion of the film weren't quite as solid as everything prior. I don't know if it was the writing or the performances, but even Brad Pitt felt flat with some of his deliveries in the last 20 minutes.
Surprised to see actual fun plot and action in this movie
John wick but with more jokes
I just realized this is the type of action movie I want more of. Though it's still as testosterone-heavy as ever, it doesn't take itself too seriously and constantly points out the humor in its more ridiculous aspects. And it's fun, really fun.
Not as good as I hoped it would be. Not as bad as I expected it to be.
My Ratings
10 - I love it, regardless of quality
9 - Very good, might not love but very well done or might love, forgiving some issues
8 - Very enjoyable or Just OK for me but well done
7 - Good
6 - Watchable despite not liking the film/show
5 - Mid
3-4 - Not great, but got through it
1-2 - Very bad/You might be a communist if you like this garbage
What a crazy movie. Did not expect much and obviously it was justover the top. Still enjoyable and some things were so ridiculous they got funny. Also, many things were a bit predictable. Still good.
Based on the original story by Kotaro Isaka, Bullet Train is undoubtedly reminiscent of the formidable Guy Ritchie films in its direction and character presentation. This is a step forward - or backward, whoever feels it misses his personal mark - in David Leitch's career as a director, who already has a wealth of experience in action films (Deadpool 2, John Wick).
The editing is impeccable, and the personality and characterisation of each of the characters is excellent, except in two cases: perhaps we miss the actor who plays the White Plague being more physically impressive, but we can assume that it was intended not to overshadow the final scenes. Scenes that, by the way, are so exaggerated that you can only stand there with your mouth open. The other case is the role of The Prince (we don't want to go into details), given that someone 23 years old doesn't pass for an infant no matter how much make-up and costumes you put on.
All in all, it's a good film that allows Brad Pitt to play a character that doesn't demand too much and that surely allowed him a lot of interpretative licenses. Watch out for the cameos!
very fun movie, loved the whole Brad Pitt "therapy" advice that he comes up with here and there, funny little touch, and an amazing cast
Intentionally ridiculously stupid but has some great moments
"Bullet Train" is a fast-paced, action-packed thrill ride that delivers on its promise of excitement and entertainment. The movie is filled with adrenaline-pumping action sequences that are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
The film boasts some fantastic action scenes that are expertly choreographed and visually stunning. From intense hand-to-hand combat to thrilling gunfights, the action sequences in "Bullet Train" are top-notch and deliver the goods for action movie enthusiasts. The fast pace of the film keeps the momentum going, making it a wild and exhilarating experience from start to finish.
In addition to the action, "Bullet Train" features a talented ensemble cast that brings depth and charisma to their characters. With stars like Brad Pitt, Joey King, and Sandra Bullock, the performances are engaging and add an extra layer of enjoyment to the film. Each actor brings their A-game, elevating the film beyond just its action sequences.
The film's premise, which centers around a group of assassins on a high-speed train, is unique and sets the stage for some creative and thrilling action set-pieces. The train itself becomes a dynamic and visually captivating setting for the film, adding to the overall excitement and intensity of the story.
While the plot may not be overly complex, "Bullet Train" doesn't pretend to be anything other than a fun, action-packed ride. The focus is squarely on the adrenaline-fueled action sequences, and in that regard, the film delivers in spades.
In conclusion, "Bullet Train" is a highly enjoyable and action-packed film that delivers on its promise of excitement. With thrilling action scenes, a talented cast, and a unique premise, it's a must-watch for fans of high-octane action movies. Strap in and get ready for a wild ride on this bullet train!
Bratt Chan in Psycho Train.
This film is a mixture of 7 Psychos and the Hong Kong action cinema of Jackie Chan.
On the one hand, the film is an ensemble piece where the Bullet Train sets the stage and all the characters are gradually introduced and meet each other.
The action is staged in the style of Hong Kong cinema a la Jackie Chen and everything that Bratt Pitt gets his hands on becomes a weapon. As with their role models, the scenes are fast and the blows have impact, but there is always a good portion of slapstick.
I don't want to reveal anything about the story, which is of secondary importance. The film should definitely be seen by anyone who is interested in one (ensemble cinema) or the other (Hong Kong action).
I have to write it and absolutely sincerely it's the most ridiculously stupid movie I've ever seen and it can't be saved because it has renowned actors it's a real one :poop: I've been wide of the icon
Anime Guy Ritchie with a streak of Good Value brand Tarantino, Bullet Train is an assault on the senses; a contemporary action-comedy-thriller-western-samurai movie for the Marvel and TikTok age of cinema. Did I have a good time? Absolutely, this is the movie version of a rollercoaster punctuated with more cameos than is comfortable and a sense of wit ripped right from Taika Waititi's Thor notebook. But is it good? Well, I guess that's up to the viewer and their tolerance for the sporadic, scatter brained, 7-second-attention-span production utilised here. Check your brain at the sliding doors and let this train whisk you away to Kyoto, you'll certainly have a good time getting there, but whether you'll have something memorable to take with you from the journey is another question entirely. Good popcorn fun.
Edit: Just finished another viewing and I think I prefered it the second time round. Lots of the foreshadowing is clearer and the details of the story click into place much earlier on, making the central plot feel much tighter than it did initially. There is definitely still a pacing issue with the intro firing on all cylinders just to grind to a halt around the hour mark. If the initial blowout of exposition was held to a little later in the runtime, the brakes wouldn't feel so harsh when the speed of everything slows so rapidly during the second and third act. But then again, that fits with the titular Bullet Train theme and it's eventual fate, so maybe it's intentional. I'll bump to an 8/10 because I got much more enjoyment from it on a second viewing. Great film, but another pass in the editing booth could have potentially made this a 9 or a 10.
If it was less star crowded, would be a better movie. It's distracting.
Lots of action and comedy...the plot is a little so-so, but it's one of those movies you don't watch for the plot, but rather to watch mostly to distract yourself for a couple of hours between adrenaline and laughter, and this one succeeds in doing that great.
Taken for what it is, a light movie, I really enjoyed it!
it was a fun watch.
Fummy and not really a thriller
If the writing and the script are as clever as the characters perceived to be, then it would have been a masterpiece.
I went into this with very low expectations, but by the end I was glad I watched it and will watch it again one day.
It's one of the most bizarre action flicks you will watch with a cast of characters that you can't help but like and a ridiculous plot that makes it just a fun movie.
It's not great acting, it's decent but not great action but it has enough going on to be a worthwhile way to blow off a couple hours to watch it and not feel like you wasted your time.
This movie really exceeded my expectations. Good directing and good soundtrack.
Glossy and empty actioner that continuously challenges the audience’s suspension of disbelief by violating all laws of physics and logic while at the same time throwing old Japanese stereotypes and pulpy exuberance into the mix. Sounds like the perfect movie, but there are some flaws indeed, like the intrigue being too convoluted for no particular reason, or the brawls getting a little repetitive towards the end. I doubt I will ever watch it again, but I would still recommend it as a solid, brainless fun actioner to enjoy with beer and popcorn. Leitch reconfirms himself as a competent action director despite having mostly dealt with highly derivative works up to this point.
Fun movie.
It's a kind of movie where You will have a lots of fun for 2h and then forget about it the next day.

This is an excellent movie that has completely surpassed my expectations. It has lots of amazing action and great comedy and wonderful performances from all the actors involved. The movie reminds me of Kill Bill.
