6th or 7th version I have seen. It's ok, but should have added a bit of local flair, like some other versions. Still, the German is my favorite, followed by the original.
I so wish for a second season here. Such a fun show and Yui Aragaki in the role of Kyoko is just perfect. It's one of those clever detective shows that are quite common in Japanese dramas. But I love those. No running, no shooting, just logic, and intellect.
This show together with Time Taxi convinced me to give a try to Japanese dramas, and I never regretted it :)
The story and characters here are loosely based on Sherlock Holmes, and this is not the first show that's did this. But with good actors and mysteries, this is a great show. Just the ending of the overall story was a bit of a letdown. Happens actually a lot in Japanese dramas. Like they ran out of episodes and had to end it quickly.
Intriguing with nice animation and art, but too abstract without any real information for the viewer.
This movie is pure entertainment. It's fun, the action is good, the pacing is good, the actors are good, and all is as it should be.
Quite the funny show, even though they like to use mistaken identities as the source of humor a little too often. Also, one could use the characters' as an example for different neurosis and psychological problems. Especiall the character of Ildico becomes a complete psychopath as the season's progress.
Quite the enjoyable mystery series. One for those that enjoy locked room mysteries, like in many other Japanese shows. The only thing I found really off was the actress playing Dr. Magata. She did not fit the role, and the actress being even younger than Emi Takei (who plays a student here) made some of the scenes strange.
I do like time loop movies, but not even that will save this one. Writing is just bad here, with shallow characters and a very predictable story.
After two episodes, I have no idea where they are going with this show. Still, the main character of Torako is quite entertaining, and it peaked my curiosity enough with the hints of the overall story, that I will continue watching it.
I watched .. something. I already forgot what this movie was about. Just a meh collection of random scenes.
The movie is fine. For the run time it will keep you entertained. The actors are good, the effects are mostly decent. The story is a generic superhero origin story that you have seen many times before.
The biggest problem with this movie is not this movie. The biggest problem here is Marvel. With the factory-like mass production of superhero movies and shows, they are killing all interest in them. They definitively killed mine. Used to be: yeah. a new superhero movie (thumbs up). Now it is: yeah.. another one (rolling my eyes).
I love this movie. I saw it at least 20 times. Murray is great as Phil. Funny, relatable a bit tragic. There are so many great quotes in this movie.
After so many views of this movie, I just don't get one thing. What is so great about Rita? You don't see that much of her character in this movie, but what you see, she is not really that likable. The scene where she asks about what they should drink to always gets me. Why does she ask, when she always drinks to world peace?
It starts really well, especially the experiment footage was really funny. but it goes bad after that, with a predictable generic ending.
Imagine an action movie, where they got rid of all the "boring" stuff. So no character development, motivation, or exciting story. It's just left with a generic protagonist, generic bad guys and so many cliches that one would think this is a parody. And why do they speak English most of the time? What was the point here?
There were a few ok fight scenes, and luckily this is quite a short movie, so not that hard to finish. But it will be forgotten right away.
The Transporter, Korean edition.
The story and setting are really similar here. Nothing new, but still quite an enjoyable simple action movie overall.
Based on the description I expected more of a detective mystery, but this is not what this is. This is a drama, mostly a critique of the social system in Japan. And that is not really for everyone. The movie takes time to develop characters and tell the story it wants. The frequent time jumps, in the beginning, make it a bit harder to get into this movie, but as it progresses, it will get you invested in the characters and gets you to the finish. The ending was predictable, I think I guessed it halfway through, but not that bad.
I'm unsure about this one. The stories look fine, but the acting feels very stiff and fake. When Japanese dramas try action, it rarely works out. Usually, they are better when they try to be clever. I just hope it gets better. Especially the character of "Invisible". I like the actress, especially from Galileo, but here she just sits and eats. Can one even call that acting?
Also, I hope the Japanese police are better than what's shown here. They react like snails here and behave like idiots all the time.
The mysteries are well thought out, but the acting is a bit on the weaker side, and the always recording guy is a bit too convenient. Still another entertaining detective show.
A fun action movie, that's a bit cliche and entirely predictable. But it will keep you entertained enough for its runtime.
I just watched this for the 4th or 5th time and enjoyed it again. Such a great movie.
It's a fun thriller with a simple story and few inconsistencies. Still enjoyable, but don't expect too much.
Just watch Romancing the stone. Really, just skip this and watch Romancing the stone.
This was just bad. Boring, generic, predictable, bloated, badly shot, horribly written. Maybe Brad Pitt was fine, for the whole 5 minutes he was in the movie , and some scenery shots were nice. That's all. I had to force myself to finish this, I was so bored. And the worst thing was Sandra Bullock. What did she do to her face? She looks so creepy, more plastic than a plastic mannequin. She talks, her face stays the same, she smiles and her face stays the same. Her face always looked the same. Like bad computer graphics.
Best show ever. What else to say.
Ok, this was a surprise. Interesting story, great casting (I have zero problems believing that a punch from Reacher can kill you), the cast works well together, the story is paced nicely with minimum filler, and they don't behave like idiots. I expected an ending in the style of Commando, and that's what I got . If I had to find some issues, the flashbacks were pointless, and the antagonist is not fleshed out that much. But this does not take away from how good this show overall is.
Fun, but a bit generic. Nothing that really stands out. It will be entertaining for those 100 minutes, but then you will probably forget about it. I don't get why they used animals. It does not fit the world, and they don't use it in any way. Probably just done so it's easier to market to children.
Fun movie, but I feel stupider after watching it.
A fun movie, but the story lacks focus. It feels too random, jumping all over the place. Also, the random references to things take you out of the story a bit. Still quite enyoiable.
The premise and the styling are great. The story is good and hooks you in. But the amount of filler is crazy. There are so many moments when nothing is happening. And there is no ending. At all. If they removed the bloat they would have plenty of space to work on the story. But then nobody would pay them for the second season :/
This is a strange show. I hate every single character in it. They are all so annoying. But I do enjoy the story and the time travel aspect.
It's ok. But with a name like sputnik, I expected something else.
