I watched this again today because I forgot if I saw it already. And that's not good, being so forgettable. The cast is good, the effects ugly, the 3d very annoying. If they removed the 3D stuff and made the rest scary, it would be an ok movie. They should learn from the older iterations of the series. Sometimes what you don't see is scarier than something right in your face.
There are a few ok moments, but too many meh ones. It just feels very generic and not really scary. All the interesting parts about Sadako are missing. No videotapes, no 7 days, nothing. It's no different from any other generic horror movie monster.
I prefer the first one, as the whole claustrophobic feeling from the single location made it more disturbing and scary. Still, this was an entertaining, gorry fun, exactly what I expected from this kind of movie.
Did they forget to add "part 1" to the name? Like it's not bad, but I feel like I watched a 30-minute act one stretched to 2.5 hours. The whole time I was waiting for something interesting to start, and all I got was just the initial setup.

A very obvious copy of battle royal. It feels a lot like a student film. The lack of budget and the bad acting really did not help here. Maybe if it was gorier (Like lessons of Evil with the same actress) or the game was not just luck-based and included some tactics, it could at least be interesting. They could have at least included some introduction to the characters, to give you a reason to root for them a bit.
This would be an OK movie, not being there one issue. There is a big disconnect between what you see and what you are told. You see this character getting popular, writing a book, going for TV appearances all about his experiences. But you see nothing, a few moments here and there. He visits one apartment, sees a ghost, gets hit by a car and that's what he wrote a book about? Show, don't tell is something the authors should have thought more about here.
I do enjoy single location movies and also killing game movies if they are done well. And this one mostly is. The setup is good, the resolution also, there are good actors here. You can see the inspiration from And then there were none by Agatha Christie and from the game Clue which is not bad. To bad that even though the rules of the game are told, they are mostly ignored .
What I did not like was that some of the character motivations were very vague, some of the dialogues felt really forced, and you can predict a lot right from the beginning. . Still, I enjoyed it from start to finish.
An anime version of the movie Alien. That's all this is. I don't remember the last time I saw a movie that copied a different one so much as this one did. Without that and with few changes to the story this could have been quite good actually. Shame
This was a surprise, I ended up watching it all in one go. In a way, it is similar to Shin Godzilla, where it focuses more on the people than Godzilla itself. And here it's even more focused on the science behind the whole situation. And it mostly felt like somebody really thought about it. I completely did not mind all the exposition, as I found it really interesting. But this is not for ones that just want mindless action. This is something you have to think about.
The characters were quite good, maybe just too many of them. But there are quite different so you don't get lost. The soundtrack is also great and the song (you know which one) will haunt you in your dreams.
Actually, there were only two things I did not like. Some of the animation, especially the 3d looked just horrible and was a real low point of the series. Secondly, a lot of the characters here are these genius scientists, and they can't help themselves and do stupid things. At least it does not happen that often here.
As good, maybe even a bit better as the first one. Still likeable characters and very good fighting scenes and action. The only thing I was missing was some of the characters from the first one, as those were relegated mostly to cameos
I turned this off after 15 minutes. I value my time more than this is worth it.
Movies like this make me feel old. I can remember the times when Bruce Willis would mean a good movie or at least an entertaining one. Now it just means that it's trash one can just skip. Good old times.
Definitively better than Army of the Dead. But even here the DOF feels off in a lot of scenes, but not as bad as before. Somebody, please teach Zack how to change the aperture on a lens.
The movie is at its best as it follows the main character. He is realistic, funny, relatable. I wish the movie would follow him all the time and the whole movie was from his point of view. The moment it goes to the other team members, it's not as good. The "team" is stuffed with a superhero, a caricature, and two throw-away characters. Especially I would really like if they stopped dressing hackers as clowns. I think this stereotype should finally die.
Not really a criticism, but as I visited a lot of places where this was recorded, I know that some of them are not close to each other, and the characters "teleporting" between them in the movie was very distracting to me.
Nothing new here, but quite ok dark comedy.
A fun comedy series with very likable characters. Really enjoyed this one. Now I just have to hope that someone really makes the Express bus to Busan :)
Not sure if I would call it a comedy, but I enjoyed it quite a lot. Takes a bit to get going but that is just better and better.
Ok mystery, a bit slow-paced and bloated, but a rewarding ending.
I don't know if I have seen so many movies already, but the killer was almost exactly what I thought it will be. But the ending left me with a bigger question. Was the ending the reality, or it was a created fake memory? So a Total Recall situation. Because the premise and the ending could be easily explained in that way.
Some great action, mixed in with a bit of military propaganda.
I was really surprised when the main cast lost their plot armor. Did not expect that at all.
Interesting movie, but very obvious. The first idea that I had about what will happen, was the conclusion to the movie.
An ok movie, but lacking in any motivation. Why are the characters behaving as they do? Where are the reasons? Where is the backstory? You are thrown in a middle of a story without any explanation. And I don't count those two throwaway lines about the antagonist (you will see which ones, as that's the whole description about him) as a motivation. Could have been better if they made characters, not just cardboard cutouts.
I just could not force myself to finish this movie. After the first hour is just skipped most of the rest. Bloated with annoying characters and horrible acting. The only plus I saw was the design of the mechs, nothing else. Just watch Predator instead.
An ok, space horror movie. A bit short, and harder to follow in the beginning.
Looks like they took a big inspiration in Prometheus, some plot points are quite the same. The alien virus, the plotting android that tries to kill them. Maybe not the best movie to be inspired by.
One of the weaker Jackie Chan movies. A bit meh overall, and the Watson character was just so annoying.
I don't know if it's a lack of good space sci-fi movies in the last years, but I really enjoyed this one. Good actors (not all), good CGI, good plot. Good one
I seen this movie few time, and even on repeated watching is still captivating. the idea behind it is great and makes you think. There is s bit of overacting here and there, probably due to some parts being adlibbed, but overall it's not that bad.
A fun action movie. Is it a masterpiece? no. Will you enjoy the time spend with it? yes. Exactly what I expected from the premise
No story really to speak of, but the CGI and the fights looked great. Ant that's really the only reason to watch this movie, and what I wanted from it.

A cross between Dantes Peak and Jurassic Word. Entertaining, but with quite the shallow characters, that like to behave like idiots.
