I called Black Panther "An overhyped and overrated forgettable mess..." the first time I saw it, and not much has changed.
For a movie that looks this beautiful, has these great actors in it, and generated an insane amount of hype, it falls through both when it comes to CGI and story. Both would be more at home in a low budget indy flick.
I do like some parts of this movie...like the locations, the good job they did with fleshing out the Wakandan culture, and how beautiful it looks...when there's no CGI in play that is, but it isn't enough to make this even close to interesting nor entertaining.
The story is weak on so many points. The pacing is so off some parts feel like they go on forever, and some of the more interesting scenes are over in a flash without enough information. The worst is still how incredibly boring it is. I had to hold back so I didn't skip through the whole movie.
Anyway...it's still an overhyped and overrated forgettable mess, and not worth your time unless you are trying to get the "whole" MCU story.

Ok...so this was one of the most hyped movies of 2018 so far.
I'm not particularly impressed...
Oh sure...it's a pretty enough movie if you can get past some of the worst CGI I have seen in a Marvel movie to date, but it made the cardinal sins of action/adventure movies...it was boring. The pacing was all wrong, and some parts stretched on and on and on, and some just flew past without much explanation. Clear signs of a bad script...
The casting and acting were good enough, but there's only so much you can do when the script is this bad. Some actors looked bored, and some overacted to compensate for the cringy lines. I can't say I blame them...
I can see someone watching this just to complete their MCU viewing experience, but other than that this movie has little to offer.
In the end, Black Panther was just a little stop on the way to Infinity War. An overhyped and overrated forgettable mess...
