The episode itself is ok, not special. What I really liked is that it shows, very early, the risks regarding holodeck use. That you could loose yourself between fiction and reality. In a way you can build a bridge into todays world and how people live in social media and/or the internet in general. I wonder what would really happen if we had holo-technology.

@finfan I would probably lost myself in a Holodeck, exploring new worlds, play famous characters, meet interesting people...
I liked the episode and the new species. What I liked about The Original Series was the relationship between characters. Picard and Riker are not Spock & Kirk, but they are good fellows and I liked the fact that this episode had them at the helm.

@andreas1138 The holodeck is a cool concept to play with. I, too, had my ideas of what I would do with it over the years. Overall TNG wasn't supposed to be a coppycat, they did start with the literal sheet of white paper. You could say that Picard and Riker are parts of what Kirk was like. Data took the position of Spock in terms of looking on human behavior from the point of a non human. The whole dynamic in TNG was different from TOS.

@finfan After watching Before Sunrise I would probably recreate the movie with me as the protagonist in the holodeck :) I liked the aliens too, here. Their way of thinking was interesting.

@andreas1138 Don't know that one but after checking the plot I think I understand why. Yes the Bynars were interesting. I found their explanation as to why they didn't asked both funny and logical. I guess Spock would have liked them, too.
