I read the short story. It’s creepy and messed up but there’s not enough to it for a movie. There’s a creepy boy named Tobin, a special rock that changes people and tall grass. People get lost in for good. The movie is faithful, yet it adds more to a story that didn’t make much sense. I liked the movie more even if it’s not perfect. Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring) giving a fine nutty performance is definitely an upside.
