A Star Is Born 2018

I just don’t get the hype. Was hoping this would blow me away, it didn’t. Maybe it’s unfair to review this movie because I fell asleep halfway through. I hated that the camera was always in someone's face.

A Star Is Born is so melodramatic (it felt like Bradley Cooper was beating me with a stick trying to make me cry) and cliché, the type of movie that tries so hard to be deep but simply does not achieve it. lt felt like there was no script written for this. I didn't think an agonizing American Dreamy love story just by itself could count for an actual plot.

Bradley Cooper really mumbled in a yeehaw accent through a mediocre at best performance, Lady Gaga acted like a singer, being an actress. 90% of her lines are just _"What? What do you mean? What? What’s going on?”. Her character has no real identity. And she randomly broke out into song more times than I can count. Their relationship was cringey as well. I don't find Gaga and Cooper's chemistry believable.

Besides a shallow, unimaginative and almost cartoonish critique of modern commercial music today, the movie has nothing to offer.
