With the episodes centered on Clyde and then this self-aware, funny episode, it looked like the season was really looking up, and it looked good for the future of the show. And then the main star, Elizabeth Sladen died in 2011. It seems like a long time ago now, and only 6 years after doctor who came back on air, and yet it's been 10 years since then. I remember watching the sarah jane adventures as a kid and really liking it. Because the show is definitely aimed at a younger audience, but it's still pretty enjoyable even as an adult. I remember as a kid wanting to watch every episode, it captured my imagination, and wasn't so dumb or immature. I think that's why it was a popular show, and the show had a warmth and joy to it.

The dialogue was getting sharper and funnier and more self-aware. The future stories and ideas looked like they were going to be really good. Especially the next episode, which was going to be Mr. Smith in human form. He had been getting a lot more personable dialogue lately and it was really enjoyable, so that next episode would have been really good. And the episode after that, where Clyde and Rani would finally get together. That would have been so good to see.

9 years later, RTD wrote this farewell with the cast members coming back to reprise it. It's a touching goodbye to Sarah Jane and The Sarah Jane Adventures and the cast. I highly recommend it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8sU45ax2Hs
