I am still unclear about the mycelium. sure, Alder was grieving. How that would create some sort of supermushroom like thing doesn't really compute for me. And what exactly it is about Raelle, that she is compatible with it. That she was chosen or whatever.
But I totally can see how the mycelium reconstitutes the General. It healed Raelle, so death isn't that much of an obstacle, since Alder was still alive. How she managed that (still being alive) is another question.
