This episode felt (and sounded) a lot like a late night cable horror cheapy, but with just the right amount of humor. Agreed that this is the episode where everyone felt pretty natural in the main Scoobie Gang. I would have liked to see more brooding Giles in the series after seeing him complaining about the constant sunny and balmy weather. I'd get tired of it, too.

The cinematography and practical effects were actually good, with a fair amount of eye candy throughout, focused on the creatures and the cast. I laughed at the first shot with the monster, but it became clear that the episode was fully intending us to laugh it up while still maintaining a dark and creepy atmosphere. A very strong "six" with higher potential subjective value.
