This movie is entirely cliches/tropes, but you never think it's tired or bad. The action scenes are great, the story is good (for a robots vs monsters action movie) and it all holds together with great style.
I felt the action scenes were too flashy, and at times the ocean waves/splashes made it hard to enjoy the mechanics of the fighting.
