Good casting with nicely flawed characters, solid/great acting (mostly, Tommy is a bit...odd), no political agenda to be seen (as of yet), interesting premise, nice episode length, fairly decent production value for a new series.

The writers of this show really take their time in these two opening episodes to explain the what and how of this world within fair boundaries. Something you rather rarely see and something I appreciate. It shows a level of care for the world and story but also that they mean business with what they want to do here and get the groundwork out of the way in a solid way.
If they can keep up this level of writing throughout and do not delve into "soap opera drama" like most shows do after some time this has the potential to become really big. I'm looking forward to that. The only thing striking me as odd is the accent of several actors, including Moretz. Sounds often weirdly unnatural but I am a non-native speaker soo perhaps that's just me.
