Perfect Sense 2011

Perfect Sense is a very different watch post Covid. Even though Covid-19 only temporarily knocked out smell and taste, the idea of a virus that can entirely kill the senses doesn't seem like science fiction.
I wasn't really sure what to expect from this movie, and I was pleasantly surprised. This is an outbreak movie, yes. Science fiction, sure. Horror, in a manner of speaking. At its core, this is a romance, and a rather moving one at that. Much like the people in the film, I felt so many emotions, and they were cleverly written into the proper moments to move the acts along, which would have been cliche otherwise, but worked beautifully here.
The closest movies I could relate this to would be Blindness (2008), and Contagion, which released the same year as Perfect Sense.
Truly a unique movie in its ability to be both uplifting and, at the same time, terrifying.

Highlights: 1. Seeing McGregor, and Bremner in another movie aside from Trainspotting. 2. Eva Green's rack.
