Enjoyable Marvel origin movie from Kenneth Branagh (Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit) bringing the mighty Asgardian God played by Chris Hemsworth (Ca$h, Blackhat, Rush), who actually pulls off a great first Major Role performance as the Son of Odin who gets banished to Earth leaving Loki (Thor's Brother) to played by Tom Hiddleston (War Horse) to rather good effect (that's us British for you, evil mastermind's we are lol). Add a little love interest in Dr Jane Foster played by the ever wonderful Natalie Portman (Leon, Heat, Black Swan) and some rather spiffing Visual Effects and you have the making of a good (not great) fantasy movie. Luckily, we had Avengers Assemble and Thor Dark World which only cermented Thor's character in the new Cinematic Universe, good fun, little too long and can be very, very slow at times. Enjoyable but it doesn't make me want to see it often.
