Good and bad, I'm enjoying these "Twilight Zone"-esque style episodes that have been happening. We got a handful here and there sprinkled throughout the past season or two, but something happened and now they're on a roll. Sadly, since I'm from the future, I know that this will end and the show will pivot in the worst direction yet, but these have been my favorites. The pseudo-serious, rudderless and self-contradicting "mythos" episodes are the least effective and enjoyable.

Granted, even this episode is unsatisfying in that it introduces elements that are, as is the MO of the series, never followed-up on. In this instance, I'm actually referring to the side plot of the wholly corrupt, ladder-climbing and unethical FBI agent murderer that Scully was partnered with. Perhaps a future episode will wrap that up, although, to date, none of the veritable library of loose ends have been touched.

Overall, this was a nice, if grim, episode. It could've taken different paths, but is what it is. Oh, yeah, even though it'll never be touched on again, Scully is now immortal. No, not a joke. I probably should've led with that.
