The show is great. However it has some problems I'd like to write about. First of all, the plot. Everyone who has read the book will find out that the show has nothing in common with the original story. Maybe the main facts only. The second thing I didn't like was James Franco. He might be a great actor, but as far as I can see he has a couple of face expressions which is not very good. What is more, the pace is too fast, I see, it was done to fit the whole novel into 8 episodes. I wish there were more episodes but all the story was shown without unnecessary character such as Bill Turcotte - George's 'brother'. Lastly, the ending was quite disappointing, since some interesting things were not shown and it felt really wrong: after reading the book I cried, I was incredibly shocked; after watching this show I felt less than 1/100 of these feelings. On the other side, the atmosphere of the 60's is warm and satisfying and Sarah Gadon is one of the cutest actresses I have ever seen. After all, I'd like to say that the show is about 6-7/10 for those who have read the novel and about 9/10 for those who haven't. Personally, I'd recommend reading it, because you'll see how different the show is.
