I was thoroughly entertained! Great story telling and outstanding direction!! This movie could have gone so bad had it not been for Director, Joe Johnston. I found no faults or had any eye-rolling moments. Don't go expecting an Oscar worthy film, this is pure entertainment, in every sense of the word.
It's well balanced and hits all the right senses. Laughter, heartbreak, CGI (!) and of course lots of action with great/epic fight sequences (I really liked the chariots scenes, you'll know what I mean when you see it).
John Hurt is his classic self, but Ian McShane, well now, he's the big standout in this movie. I kept waiting to hear "cocksucker" - but sadly it never came. :P
Go see Hercules, have fun and watch the bastard 'Son of Zeus' kick-ass + body-slam a horse. It was an easy to watch, enjoyable Summer day at the movies for me.
