Rewatched recently, genuinely one of the best MCU films to date
I was excited when I heard that Black Widow was getting her own film. Unfortunately, I was disappointed because the story felt too generic and failed to capture Natasha's unique character and personality. I wished they focused more on espionage rather than generic action scenes.
actually really loved the Black Widow movie I just really wish there was a scene that explained why Nat was able to survive getting blown up in her car and falling off a building and evading multiple broken limbs.
Like the Red Room injected her with some super serum or something. My only complaint.
20% stealthy secret agent spy stuff, 80% explosions
Which part of Russia is Cockney exactly Ray? Lol
Scarlett Johansson finally gets her solo film in Black Widow. Set after Civil War, with the Avengers broken up, Natasha Romanoff (aka Black Widow) teams up with her estranged foster sister when she learns that the Black Widow program has been reconstituted and attempts to find the facility and take it down. Johansson gives a solid performance and is backed by Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Rachel Weisz, and Ray Winstone. Unfortunately, the story isn’t really about Black Widow and little is learned about her. And of course Disney forces in their liberal politics in rather blatant and obtrusive ways. Still, the action-sequences are incredible exciting and features some impressive fight choreography. The special effects are also especially good, and there are some fun bits of humor. It’s a bit disappointing (given its potential), but Black Widow delivers all of the thrills and adventure that has come to be expected from Marvel.
The MCU is just not equipped for this type of story and subject matter
Scarlett …….need I say more??!!! Bath her and bring her to me!!!!
Scarlett and Florence’s Not So Excellent Adventure
Started off good. But went south as it went on. Something was lacking. However, I'm just happy she got her well deserved movie even though it was late. Overall a 7. Hopefully we see more of her sister in future Marvel films.
Haven't watched iron man 2, I couldn't understand some parts of it. Though I enjoyed it well. It has family emotion, comedy, feminism, action, but the villain character is so weak that even teenage spiderman could easily defeat him.
Okay but too talkative, too much focus on family feelings, not well suited for a superhero movie
10 year's to late
And neither here nor there
But I will say one word
YELENA...wow.. wow
And wow again.
(Total Goddess).
And may I say welcome to The MCU and I absolutely can't wait to see you with the Cool kids
in future movie's.
YELENA is super freaking awesome amazing and for me was the damn highlight of the entire movie and the only person who kept my interest and
entertained me throughout, I am in complete
Awe with her.
I hope one day she to gets her own solo movie's because I would pay good money to see them.
HELLA YEAH.
FLORENCE PUGH'S back must be killing her after carring the hole damn movie. She was an absolute scene steeler and quite right to.
If not for her this movie would have been a complete flop and a messy bore fest,
Thank-you YELENA THE NEW QUEEN
OF THE MCU.
#THENEWBLACKWIDOW
I HAVE A NEW LOVE IN MY LIFE AND IT STARTS WITH "Y" AND ENDS IN TOTALLY FCUKING AWESOME.
YELENA see you in the
D+ HAWKEYE show and in future MCU MOVIE'S
WOW I CAN'T WAIT.
I NEED MORE MUCH MORE
YELENA IN MY LIFE.
(Lots of Love heart's)
7/10
would have been a 4, 5 at best
if not for the new QUEEN OF THE MCU
This film could and should have been enough much better than actually turned out. Scarlett Johanson's worst MCU film, forgettable actors and a plot full of holes like Swiss cheese.
Movie is saved by Florence Pugh who's taking over from Johanson at the right time. The Black Widow character deserved a proper send off, instead she will fade into the background like much of her roles in MCU ensemble movies
The fact that the entire storyline is rather jumbled (would have been more suitable for a series adaptation) is not the issue here - what I found really entertaining was the fact that the character of Dreykov corresponds 1:1 to the Ice King from 'Adventure Time'. Funny!
I expected more from this movie! But it was dissatisfying, don’t really know what to say or think, but I’d rate it as poor
Not what I was expecting. Tbh I was hoping for more...
It had incredible action, awesome CGI, and some fun. Marvel pretty much never fails to deliver in these regards. However, I didn't really like the story. I'm not quite sure why but I'd say it's too messed up, dark, and silly. Obviously Natasha had a very bad past but she still has a lot of heart and love. I was hoping this would shine through more in this movie but I wasn't really feeling any real family vibes :D
Edit: Oh no, that post end credits scene... :o
Girl your anticommunism is showing...
I'm not a big fan of black widow when it comes to avengers, defo near the bottom when it comes to rating the avengers but Scarlett Johan does a good job with the character and pulls of a good show in her solo film along with the rest of the cast but i did feel the film was rushed and some of the effects were close to looking fake than real but other than that i enjoyed the action, the cast and the plot and bloody hell that ending credit that i didn't expect.
Amazing how Rachel Weisz still looks like when she played in the mummy. Other than that the movie could have been better. Maybe it just felt off due to it being released so late in the series and then the after credits were like past end game. Hopefully the Hawkeye series will be better again.
I felt like this movie had the build up work against it. Because of the pandemic, it was delayed so many times that when it finally came out expectations were just too high. It's a good movie. But it's not the best MCU solo movie, it's maybe not worth the almost two years wait. Which is unfair because that's uncontrollable. The characters are good, the action is great, but I will admit it was a bit lacking. Taskmaster was not very well developed for such an interesting villain, and the main villain wasn't as interesting. It gives some background and creates complex relationships but also felt unresolved in some ways. So, yes, I understand the complaints, but I feel like a lot of them were blown out of proportion but two years of built up expectations.
3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Black Widow’:
Compared to other Marvel fare, this was an average outing. Nothing awful, but nothing particularly spectacular. And I think it all comes down to what was essentially a fairly bland story.
I thought David Harbour was somewhat underutilized here. His comic relief was one of the film’s highlights.
There was some solid action and some pretty stellar fight choreography, but it seemed to wane a bit as the movie progressed.
Bonus Thought: Did anyone else get Alias vibes? :pound_symbol:spyfamily
I watched in 10/09/21.
Kinda cheesy at times. But beat moments when Red Guardian made an ass of himself. Family humor. Kinda. The other Marvel movies were better. Lack of superpowers? Meh.
More like Black Widow Presents: Florence Pugh’s character.
So, after a long break of Marvel movies, with 2020 having zero Marvel properties, due to the on-going pandemic. I believe the last time we had no Marvel movies was back in 2009, but without the modern plague. It was a nice break from things and smaller movies got more of the spotlight. But now after things have calmed down a bit, Marvel felt confident to finally release ‘Black Widow’, the long waited solo movie that fans wanted since her first appearance in ‘Iron Man 2’, the fan favorite, Natasha Romanoff. Now we finally got it, and the results are...very uneven.
Before I go any further, I would like to say a massive congratulations to ‘Black Widow’ for breaking three “Guinness World Records”:
1.) The first posthumous release for a Marvel character
2.) The first female lead superhero movie ever made, because no other female led movies existed until this movie.
3.) And Asian actor Scarlett Johansson for being the first Asian superhero lead in the MCU, way ahead of the release of ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’.
Hehe
OK, let’s get serious now.
This movie came out way too late. It should’ve been released immediately after ‘Winter Soldier’ or ‘Civil War’, either of the Captain America movies. The long wait for this movie is questionable at best, since we got two Ant-Man movies instead of something that people wanted.
Although, I’ve got to say, the opening credits with the cover song of ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’, originally sung by Kurt Cobain, playing over this chilling imagery of children being trafficked into trained assassins, which sets up a dark tone that I didn’t expect from Marvel, and it immediately got my attention. The opening credits was easily the best part of the movie, but unfortunately the rest of the movie didn’t match that tone, as it got too comical at some points and gradually fell off.
For over 11 years, we were blessed by Scarlett Johansson’s portrayal of the title character and it’s sad we have to say goodbye to her once again. Johansson herself fully commits to the role once again, even though I thought she was the least interesting part of the movie. She honestly felt like a side character than anything else, which sucks because this is supposed to be her movie.
With this movie being a prequel before the events of ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame’, you know Black Widow herself is most likely going to survive the movie, but that doesn’t mean she can’t get hurt, right? Well in this movie for whatever reason she’s completely invincible and barley gets a scratch on her. There’s a handful of moments where she falls from a great distance only to land safely to the ground, which was too unbelievable to not at least suffer a bruise or a cut or any type of injury. She’s not even superhuman or anything. I guess Marvel characters are like cats with nine lives.
One of the comedic reliefs of the movie is David Harbour, who’s entertaining as the Red Guardian. Rachel Weisz is also there and she’s fine. But still, I thought Harbour and Weisz Russian accents were all over the place at certain times. However, it’s nowhere near as bad as Ray Winstone’s, aka the most British man ever, who doesn’t even try at all. And I can’t shake off that Winstone kind of looks like Martin Scorsese (thanks a lot Red Letter Media).
On the other hand, the best character and actor in the entire movie belongs to Florence Pugh, pew pew pew. This shouldn’t be a shocker to anyone if you have been following her recent winning streak. While her Russian accent isn’t what I call great, but it sounded better on her since she already has a deep husky voice that suits the accent better.
Everything on a technical standpoint is always good in these movies, expect for the action scenes which I found to be disappointing, as there was nothing memorable or exciting about any of it.
The final act is where things completely went off the rails and the CGI fight scenes looked bad. The visual effects during the final battle looked like one of those "director's cut" where they never finished the scene for the theatrical release but wanted to include it on the disc for completeness.
Oh, about the shocking reveal of Taskmaster, I really didn’t care. I guess we must wait a few years for the real Taskmaster, like the Mandarin in ‘Iron Man 3’.
Also, I feel like this movie should’ve focused more on Natasha's "family" backstory, because I think that would have been more interesting, but even with the 2-hour runtime, it felt rushed somehow. Marvel has been doing this for years now, but here I found the humor incredibly distracting and took away a lot of the serious scenes that could have had potential of being hard hitting. I just wish they let some of the tension or seriousness be exactly that, instead of throwing in a cheap joke to deflate the weight of the scene.
Marvel Studios seriously needs to shake up the formula a bit, because I’m starting to lose the will to live with these movies. Please, no more “grounded, concrete looking, superhero movies”, cause it’s getting so boring.
I'm sorry for coming across as negative, but the more I write the more negative I become towards the movie, as I can’t hide my disappointment and frustration.
Overall rating: Natasha deserves better.
I watched 2 hours of 2 chicks running to find the plot. There was no plot. It was some fat cat telling the public how they really use girls in Hollywood, except they don't become super heroes in real life, they become milk cartons.
Well if you are a DC fan and action fan this is for you. Some funny scenes and action packed. Not a bad watch.
Great beginning, with lots of action scenes. Seems really promising, but the middle it slowed down and became kinda boring, not only because it lacked action, but because the story and the chemistry between the actors and the development of the family as a whole is not strong enough, it doesn't catch your feelings, you don't really connect to the characters. And the final was okay, with more action scenes, but nothing beyond expected of the genre.
I’m no fan of superhero movies or tv series, specially Marvel ones. I usually find them extremely boring and dull.
So you may ask me why did I watch Black Widow? Because of Scarlet, if she wasn’t there I wouldn’t have given the movie a chance.
But to my surprise, and I don’t care if the movie is coherent with the character within Marvel universe, it turned out to be a pretty good action movie. I’m a pragmatic and thus I believe that a movie shouldn’t be trapped by dogma emanating from hardcore fans of a comic or novel. It needs to be first and foremost entertaining and If to achieve that it has to take any licenses from the paperback story, it should without a doubt.
A fine action movie, entertaining and well made. If you fancy action packed movies with a storyline, this one is for you.
Like all Marvel it’s fine and easy to watch. Just didn’t blow me away 6/10
Pros are:
David harbour and Florence Pugh carry the film adding much needed excitement and comedy to what I think is quite a dull character
Some of the set pieces are quite cool
Taskmaster is an interesting villain but has limited screen time
Added a bit more back story to one of the least fleshed out characters in Marvel
Cons:
Taskmaster screen time very limited and the backstory a bit strange which means it’s hard to care too much
I felt like there was room for more story as children but they literally just imply the rest with opening credits
Suffers from Marvels tendency to assume the audience knows the wider story and exactly what point in that story it is. This is set several movies ago so is confusing even if you have seen more recent ones.
Post credits scene getting a bit ridiculous referencing a minor character from the falcon and winter soldier show.
Black widow to me is quite flawed in Marvel, they have no super powers so they need something to endear them to the audience. Throughout MCU, the performance and script for Black Widow is relatively flat.
It was okay, but I was hoping for a lot more. The story was decent, but it definitely lacked some of the characteristics of other recent Marvel movies. My biggest disappointment is that for a supposedly amazing spy, there was no spying. This could have been a great story movie. Do some amazing spy stuff that you can't do in a superhero movie, but works great with mere mortals. There was nothing even remotely spy worthy. This is just a random generic action movie.
It's okay but could've been much better if they actually did something more character focused instead of EXPLOSIONS
5,5/10
H H H H H
Probably the best Marvel movie I’ve seen in years……. Way more enjoyable to me than the avengers movies or iron man 2-3. Guardians of the galaxy is still the best marvel franchise if you ask me though. If I never have to see another iron man movie, I’ll praise Jesus or allah lol.
DC forever greater than Marvel
My least fav DC film is still far better than my most fav Marvel film! Superman rules! Better production quality and CGI by far with DC. Lately Marvel is just massed produced shit.
LMFAO PHEREMONES?????? PHEREMONES??????
In all seriousness, this movie was pretty good. unexpectedly funny and emotional even if they are kind of retconning nat's past. Florence Pugh was the best part of this movie.
When we first saw Black Widow on an Avengers movie she was awesome, kick-ass and deserved a movie on her own. Well this was way too late. This should have happen years ago. Now she looked tired, old and way less cool. She didn't deserve such mediocre film. The story is a "Nikita" theme, way too predictable and with a few laughs here and there.
Too late for her.
"It Was Real To Me Too"
I enjoyed this movie, easy to watch with lots of action.
Pugh was the star.
Didn't understand the last scene after the credits. is Black Widow dead?
Full disclosure - I am not a fan of the genre so I am looking at the movie in a different context than those that love comic book movies. The development of the main character is a little bit odd, especially when you look at her across the Marvel movies. It almost feels like they were trying to change what had been done in the past. The movie is easily at its best when Florence Pugh is on screen.

I recently watched this film in the movie theater, and I found it a pleasant viewing experience. It certainly wasn't a masterpiece that transcended the boundaries of filmmaking, but it was undoubtedly an enjoyable action film, coupled with some sentimental undertones, and helped to end a beloved character's journey, while also hinting at a sequel in the upcoming future. In general, I do understand the criticisms for this film, which have some merit, but the film has an abundant amount of positive qualities that outshine these criticisms. Of course, the acting, chemistry, and overall atmosphere produced by the cast were splendid. Furthermore, I loved the action, cinematography, and while there were certainly some questionable CGI scenes, the film overall looked beautiful. I will concede that the writing could have been stronger, but the resolution was just enough, which is why I gave this film an 8. It was a fun viewing!
Like always in a super hero marvel movie : the baddies are just badly acted/written + this movie really seams to be very predictable.
All in all a solid effort and maybe even warranted a mini series like Loki/Wanda Vision
I was not interested in this movie at all since announcement, but because pandemic and limited free time activities I decided to watch it... And I cannot say how surprised I was! This movie was one of the best MCU movies released. Very entertaining plot and so much action combined with funny lines, even better than in GotG. And into sequence with that choice of music was perfect.
Yelena singlehandedly stolen the show. Perfect.
It was an ok movie. For me, this was a watch once, and never look back. The action was well done but I feel like something was missing. This was the way I actually felt about the entire movie. Something was just missing. Taskmaster was a letdown. Where was the spy aspect of the movie? I actually prefer Captain Marvel over this one.
all these hearts are for florence and florence only. i’m sorry but she carried. honorable mention to that nerve severing scene tho. idk i kinda just dug that alot.
this movie was so enjoyable! florence pugh made her :frowning2: face so it's obviously incredible. as someone who hasn't read the comics, and doesn't plan to, I liked the taskmaster reveal.
the post credit scene!! i don't really like val so far she's irritating me but I hope yelena destroys clint. it should have been him.
one last thing I just think it's funny how I've seen people complain about how there's so few male characters in this movie, but don't say anything about iron man which has 2 female characters if i recall correctly
Wasn't unmissable but a great film to kick off the next Marvel stage.
Explains the past for the black widow good on a large cinema screen.
this film is not only have action screens but goes into depth about her past.
I did really enjoy it despite it being cringey and awkward at some points. The action scenes were terrible, it doesn't have the quality of some of the other Marvel movies.
Giving it a high score for that credit scene, it was so fu**ing emotional!
this movie was great and I am really happy with the ending!
theres so much emotion in this phase that i cant even handle it just pain
Solid movie but just cant get over taskmasters reveal....what a total waste :(
It's better than Captain Marvel I guess.
I was dissapointed, crummy MARVEL movie.
Yelena was more interesting than Natasha. she fuego.
First time back in the theater since the Sonic Movie. Pretty entertaining, I really needed a break from the MCU after 2019, so I was glad to finally be back in the theater watching an MCU movie. Would recommend, but not for $30 on D+, this is a theater experience.
I wasn't as hyped for this as I was for other MCU-movies, but it turned out to be an extremely entertaining movie. It's not the best MCU-movie by a long shot, but the character of Black Widow deserved this sendoff imho. Unfortunately, they didn't nail everything...
During the start of the movie, I thought this was a good example of how you make a female led action movie without cringy and on the nose feminist bs (like the Supergirl series), and I liked that a lot. Then the predictable reveal that Taskmaster was Dreykov's daughter hit hard and all that goodwill went straight out the window. It felt suuuuuper forced and added nothing. Natasha and Yelena were awesome at the start, but after that reveal it felt forced and cringy again. It was another example of: let's cram as much women as possible in this movie, because we have to nowadays. It's so disappointing and completely unnecessary. What's wrong with female heroes beating up a male bad guy?
Speaking of the bad guy, they could've done much more with Taskmaster. It was great to see Bucky's knife flip (I screamed a little when I saw it), but the character deserved more screen time. Regardless of his/her gender. ;)
All in all: great ending to Natasha's arc and if Yelena takes over her mantel in the MCU for the next decade, I'm on board with that. She's great too.
Overall awesome movie, welcome back marvel lol
Florence absolutely killed it! Was def the highlight for me. Her making fun of the hero landing was comedy gold. Also the taskmaster suit was stunning. That fucking helmet, excited to see what they do with her. The gender flip was a nice touch I thought Antonia lol.
one thing that annoyed me was how did Natasha get away from Ross in that last scene?
That after credit scene had a lot to take in. Yelena a thunder bolt, now hunting Clint? Okay. Also JLD is fucking perfect. Although her scenes are short, she nails it everytime. It was nice to give Natasha a proper send off.
There has been many movies made based on this plot. when have seen very strong villian in super hero movies dreykov kinda doesn't fill the shoes. Not a single element of surprise was there which puts you in Aww.
Real life has set backs, to which people connects more there weren't single setbacks which would have influenced movie otherwise.
pretty solid action movie
really enjoyed Red guardian along with the rest of the family they all added something equally entertaining to the movie
taskmaster was a really fun villain
the lack of having the character speak though was a little bit missed opportunity
I was really hoping the movie would dive more into the Red room and how the widows are groomed
Yelena and Red guarding were funny. Natasha was kinda boring and uninteresting. . Decent action scenes. Rest of the movie was average.. 6.5/10
Thank you marvel and Scarlett & Florence For a great action movie.
It was OK. A little bit of the Bourne Identity. A little of The Winter Soldier... The first act was confusing unless you watched the previous MCU movies recently. The least re-watchable after Captain Marvel and The Incredible Hulk.
The first scene takes place in 1993 and has Natasha as a little girl living in the mid west, Ohio. Her character has multi color hair which would be unusual for a girl of that age today, let alone one in the mid west during that time period, especially one who was supposed to be undercover and thus should not be drawing attention to herself.
Kinda boring, uneven and he zero story. It’s leads make it worth the watch
I only knew taskmaster from marvel vs capcom 3, and from marvel future fight, maybe lego too
and expected more from him in the movie
it was almost a james bond movie
MCU Phase 4. Fan service. The way is to draw irrelevant stories with big budget and Hollywood stars. It's curious that "The Falcon and the Winter soldier" has more comical spark and better action sequences. Johansson and Pugh are brilliant on their own but there is little chemistry together. Ray Winston's character... well. There is spectacle and entertainment. Can we ask for more? Should we ask for more?
Actual Rating 8.5*
I'm not usually that into Marvel movies but I think that is all about to change. This mixed comedy with action and Scarlett Johansson showed once again that she was the perfect pick to play the character. Not being. a huge Marvel fan I wasn't aware of the origins of Black Widow but this movie did a great job of showcasing how she started out. There were parts that I feel could of been condensed and I wasn't confident for the first 10 or so minutes of the film but once the action kicked in I was hooked.
I thought there will be more scenes in Budapest. They were here for a long time.
So good! Wasn't the vibe I was expecting at all, but I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely thought we were at least going to see more of the Red Room, though, so that was a bit disappointing. Still, entertaining overall, and hopefully we'll see the Red Room in future installments.
Such a shame that this had to come out only after her character's death in Endgame, but I think a good BW future is still a big possibility either in Yelena taking on the mantle eventually, or Nat being brought back once the multiverse gets effed up.
Also, that post-credits scene! I wonder how weird that appearance would have felt if the viewer hadn't seen TFATWS yet (or, if as originally planned, this movie came out before that). Also just realized that she's being very Nick Fury-esque now, assembling an Evil Avengers crew lol.
Great movie, well written, actions scenes, stunts and cast. Only downside and I hate this with modern movies is the gender swap for Task Master! There was no need for it. Doing this also takes away his back story and other well known stories with his rivalries. Other than that I hope they write a sequel.
Best family movie of 2021.
Taskmaster was absolutely wasted. Pity.
If you have Natasha you don't need Captain America, she is the super soldier without super soldier serum, if she could do everything she does because she did not do it in infinity war or endgame, it does not make sense but the film entertains, I love Scarlett Johansson
It’s an average marvel movie but it’s really really REALLY late
Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow are the true greatest Avenger.
Seriously, everything that women has done for the Avengers.
And everything she has been through.
Not mention her bad ass skills.
I can't believe it took this long for her to get her own movie.
I loved this movie, this movie was awesome.
But most important of all, you are awesome.
Enjoyed the escaping the Red room fight scene and Yelena's attempt at Natasha's superhero pose
It's an origin movie for Black widow fans, so if you're not one understand that is possibly a boring one.
I've said on many occasions I had zero interest in a Black Widow movie. In the first place she makes much more sense as a interstitial character gluing the MCU together. In the second place her story is over. What is the point of this?
I've also said that I've been wrong in so many occasions I'd be delighted to be wrong again here. For the most part I was. This is a movie that should have been made ages ago and it's a solid MCU film as good as any of the others. It does better than a lot of them in some ways. It doesn't throw in unnecessary love interests, it doesn't end in a giant CGI battle against anything much less a CGI bigger better version of herself.
Taskmaster is an interesting villain. They've flipped his character a lot which is kind of a shame because I think the mercenary that trains henchmen would fit rather nicely in the MCU and this movie in particular..
The final sequence involves a falling airship but having rewatched it I'm still unclear why the entire airship was exploding. The area was only losing a single engine, even our smart character acknowledged it was functionally a controlled descent. I can believe you can take down an airship. I can't buy the whole thing collapses with a SINGLE engine blowing up. Commercial airplanes won't self destruct with a single engine failure.
Eh... Skip this one nor a true Marvel
Is this an amazing action movie with Scarlett? Yep, just like any other movie where Black Widow appears
Is Florence Pug great? Yes!!! A great match and happy to see they plan to explore more
Will see a lot of Natasha origins? Very little! You will have a seen a lot more on other avengers movies
Will you see more about her previous relationship with Hawkeye? No!
For me, it’s a great action movie place in a moment in time that now, has no interest for me.
It’s the standalone movie Marvel promised Scarlet when they were doing Civil
War but only delivered in 2021
Every movie has flaws, do those who don't like this one will be sure to hi-light them. I enjoyed it. Was nice to see some character building of her character.
David Harbour. The post credits scene.
Finally! This has been my most fervently anticipated movie of the past 2 years, which could have handicapped it (high expectations can lead to disappointment). This movie, however, was everything I wanted, plus! Great storytelling, great action, great offbeat (or should I say on beat) humour. All the cast were on point. Welcome, Romanoffs, to the Avenger family! Great international locations and crews. I can’t say enough about how good this movie was. Unsurprisingly, I give this film a 10 (perfect) out of 10 and am so happy that movies of this caliber can be seen, once again, on the big screen! [Action, Adventure, Superheroes]
I like the new style MCU is going for, more personal narratives with the right amount of action. Black Widow is a fun watch with impressive action pieces and emotional moments that feel earned. Needless to say, Florence Pugh was amazing. Looking forward to see her more in the MCU.
The main cast is really great and the family dynamics is mined really well as well as their take on human trafficking and reclaiming your power. The action like most big budget blockbusters is nonsense and has no stakes or tension. Movies don’t know how to do anything anymore since they can do everything
A nice bit of widow on widow action
I enjoyed it, but my favourite part was the first few scenes. Anyhow, if this means more movies with the likes of Florence Pugh and O.T. Fagbenie, it is a win for all of humanity.

It's just OK, but it could have been so much more. The main cast is pretty dope, but feel very underutilized. I wish they would have toned down the amount and length of the action scenes that constantly interrupt actual storytelling.
