Just like most people, I'd say this is not the best superhero movie. But it's also not the worst, it's just mediocre.
Perhaps this is partly because I don't particularly like the superhero in question; he could have been called Superman in space with friends. But that's personal preference.
My critique; the love interest was not convincing at all, the final battle was rushed and the special effects were sometimes distracting. I did like Ryan Reynolds' character changing, the ancient immortals storyline and the evil nerd.

An average movie that was good for a somewhat entertaining evening, but I won't be watching it again, especially with all the other great superhero movie adaptations these days.

better than expected, a good superhero movie, nothing more nothing less

Not the worst DC made! It was kind of rushed at the end and the plot was childish but it wasn’t that bad of a movie. 6/10

I honestly don't know what the big problem people have with the movie.
So the suit is CGI, and?
I like the story and I enjoyed the movie even after watching it for the third time.

How in the name of hell did they manage to make GL boring?

loading replies

I Like it much.
Although the film has its weaknesses but I still find it quite successful.

I am a very big fan of the Green Lantern Corp.

And I shall shed my light over dark evil, For dark things cannot stand the light, the light of the Green Lantern!

I'm not gonna say that it was horrible, i loved the cast so much, but something in the movie was boring, i mean the fight scene in the end was awsome but the rest of the movie was boring, same thing i felt about Man Of Steel, DC needs to learn from MARVEL

I LOVED THIS FILM!! but then again im a comic geek and i love most graphic novels turned movie poor quality or not.

Just like everybody else after listening some people say it was the worst dc movie i was expecting it to be so bad, that i really enjoyed it.

"I've heard about humans, think they're the center of the universe."

There are a few scenes in this that made me think "Wow this had the potential to be a fun film," but the actual lantern part of it is wasted. I know everyone hates this movie so there is not much else to add to it, but I am sure glad Ryan moved on to Deadpool.

Better than some Marvel movies, It's just been underrated, and I think one of its problems has been Ryan making fun of his owm movie.

It was enjoyable enough, nothing outstanding. A bit of an anticlimax I suppose as it lacked the usual action in a superhero film. I’d say it’s more an origin story. Still worth a watch.

Shazam manages to work a lot more despite similar aspects. Mark Strong, a chosen one, a villain who despises his father. Maybe because it was more fun and funny with a villain who is less silly.
Green Lantern isn’t as bad as they say but it’s a last option movie to watch when you’re bored at home.

Not as bad as I thought it was going to be but it is boring and looks terrible.

loading replies

Never understood what went wrong with it.

loading replies

Everything about this movie is bad. The acting, the plot, even the special effects look so bad and superfake.

loading replies

The sad thing is, both the action and the storytelling are not compelling in "Green Lantern".

loading replies

Didn't really care for it.

loading replies

of course I'd let Ryan Reynolds fuck me sideways, hanging upside down blindfolded, even on top of a fucking moving train, and then go for round two on top of Mount Everest, the movie sucked.

def enjoyed it good super hero flick. i do agree with what some mentioned the end did seem rushed but great build up for sure & end result i'm happy oh & blake lively is HOT!!! she is #1 on my list :P

mmmmmmm Ryan Reynolds

Not the best comic adaptation, but still highly enjoyable. Score: 6/10.

loading replies

A nice movie for sure. Didn't expect much but I was pleasantly surprised!

loading replies

Yeah. It was pretty good, although not the same quality as the first Spiderman movie. I don't see why it only has a 67% rating here on trakt. I enjoyed watching this movie.

loading replies

I agree 100% with what whl said. Not the best, but definitely not as bad as people said it was. I'm actually a bit hyped for a sequel. Whenever they decide to make one.

loading replies

Not a bad superhero movie, not the best but definetly not as bad as I heard it was. I would watch a sequel. End was indeed rushed.

loading replies

In agreement here, was expecting a poor plot and childlike experience and instead got a solid superhero movie. Liked the fact the winner becomes the hero and the nerd the villain.

Should not have watched it with my 4yo boy tho, definitely not for children.

loading replies

Could have easily spanned over 2 movies or even been just short of 3 hours, was an awesome build up, but the end just seemed rushed... worth a one time watch mind

loading replies

Better than I was expecting. I would watch a sequel, but I probably wouldn't go back to see this one for a second time in theaters (like I would with X-Man First Class).
