Three episodes in.
Episode 3 was just slow. I'm not saying it was a terrible one, but nothing major happened and it didn't move the story forward.
I haven't watched the original movie and can't quite tell you what I thought the show was going to be about (besides what's obviously in the name), but this wasn't it. I expected much more. It's got an interesting cast but the writing is pretty dreadful and weak. Made-for-TV-esque. The show is not glam or mysterious, it's just dark and repetitive. You can play that Call me song over and over but there just isn't enough to the story to hold me that interested.
I cannot stomach Rosie O'Donnell's acting chops. She's playing such a generic angry cop but she just doesn't fit the role of a tough detective. Every time she tries to look tough, it looks funny to me.
They didn't do a good job of explaining that it's the same actor playing young Julian and Colin. So i'm guessing Colin is Julian's son and he knows the guy in the pic is his dad and that his mom had an affair. So I hope there is more to The Who framed Julian storyline than Richard Stratton framing him because he know that Colin is Julian and Michelle's son.
These terrible wigs on Gretchen Moll are really distracting.
