Madame President went awfully fast from "My instinct knew the moment I saw you in that picture you did it" to publicly declaring him a hero.
And the rest was not very strong. Baltar "converted" to faith for sheer self preservation. He's no more a believer then he was before. He just believes in himself.
In general I find it weird how little time has passed. We are not even a month removed from the destruction of the colonies.
The drama around Gaius and his reaction to it was well done, but the religious aspect just doesn't work, neither does the psychosexual relationship with him and Six. Also, the story on Caprica just isn't that good and feels tertiary and less interesting than the main plot on the ship. There just isn't much interesting happening on Caprica.
Gaius is such a selfish idiot, but he's a great character.
