Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, Donkey Kong Country... These games are truly classics. And though the collect-a-thon platformer genre may have diminished, it's now time for a Rare-vival. Team members who worked on many of the classic games we played (and still play) got back together as Playtonic Games to create a new 3D platformer called Yooka-Laylee.
In this interview, we discuss everything from Project Dream to the development of Yooka-Laylee.

    Enjoy!
Thanks so much to the Playtonic Games team for participating in this interview! It was a ton of fun.

Special 16 Star Fox Zero E3 Preview

    • 2015-06-23T04:00:00Z11m

3 years?! Wow! I can't believe it's been that long. Time really flies. Well, it's time to celebrate! I'm going to be answering as many of your questions as I can, both from the contest emails and live comments.

Thank you all so much for watching all these years!

Thanks to Nintendo for sending a free copy of this game to review!

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is a Zelda game that sticks with you. It invests you in the characters, the world, and the story. In fact, Twilight Princess is a perfect example of a great Zelda game. So, when Nintendo announced an HD remake of the game for Wii U, I was incredibly excited! But what did I think after actually playing it? Is it actually worth playing through this adventure again on Wii U?
Well, I hope this review helps you decide whether or not you should upgrade.

    Enjoy!

Alongside the release of Star Fox Zero, a small game, straight from Miyamoto's workshop makes it's debut: Star Fox Guard. A hectic strategy game in nature, you may be wondering how such a game found its way into the Star Fox universe, and if it's any good in general. Well, good news for you, I'm here to answer these questions for you, so you can hopefully decide whether or not you believe this game is for you.

    Enjoy!

Thank you Nintendo for sending me a free copy of Star Fox Guard!

"Star Fox! We need you! It's been too long since you last had a home console game. Please return to the Lylat System!"

Well fellow Star Fox fans, your request has been answered. Star Fox Zero for the Wii U is latest title in the incredibly popular Star Fox series. But with all these changes to the game like motion controls and new vehicles, can this new title really hold up against the classic Star Fox 64? Well, hopefully with this video, you can answer that question today.

    Enjoy!

Thanks to Nintendo for a free copy of Star Fox Zero for this review!

Rare and pirates go hand-in-hand. These rulers of the seas have appeared in many a Rare title such as Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, and was even going to be the central theme of the cancelled SNES title Dream. But these swashbuckling sailors are finally ready for their own game, and this game is Sea of Thieves.

To learn all about this pirating adventure coming to Xbox One and Windows 10, I talked with the Studio Head of Rare himself, Craig Duncan.

    Special 24 Beta64 Interview - Battlezone

    • 2016-06-18T04:00:00Z11m

I've played Battlezone many times on the arcade machine, and it still amazes me how much they could accomplish in 1980. But our technology has advanced quite a lot since then, and now, with VR knocking on our door, Rebellion has decided to give Battlezone a well deserved reboot for both Playstation VR and Oculus.

I talked with the lead designer, Steve Bristow, all about this PSVR launch title.

    Special 25 Beta64 Interview - Cuphead

    • 2016-06-18T04:00:00Z11m

Cartoons from the 1920s and 30s had a distinct art style that, to my knowledge, hasn't been used in video games... like ever. That's why, the moment I saw Cuphead, I knew I had to play it. With its challenging platforming and beautiful, hand-drawn characters and backgrounds, this game is sure to be an incredible title upon release.

To help us learn more about Cuphead, I spoke with animator Joseph Coleman, who was more than happy to let us know more information on the game.

Special 26 Beta64 Interview - We Happy Few

    • 2016-06-19T04:00:00Z11m

We Happy Few is a nice, lighthearted game made by Compulsion Games. It takes place in a Wellington Wells, a happy little area where everyone is having the time of their lives... as prisoners of the drug called Joy. You play as a "Downer" who is off the drug and is trying to escape the island alive. But can he?

In order to learn more about this psychological thriller, I spoke with Sam Abbott, the Chief Operating Officer at Compulsion Games.

    Special 29 E3 2016 (Day 3)

    • 2016-06-29T04:00:00Z11m

We've finally made it to the last day of E3 2016. What an incredible experience! The past two days, we've seen games like Breath of the Wild, Cuphead, Nioh, Worms W.M.D., and a lot more. And though we've reached the end, we've still got more games to see. So, let's see what the rest of the show has to offer, shall we?

    Enjoy!

This game was provided by Nintendo for this review.

I first played Metroid Blast Ball at E3 2015 and had a blast! (see what I did there XD) After hearing that Blast Ball would include a campaign under the title Federation Force, I was very interested in playing the game. After receiving it in the mail, I really had no idea what it was going to be like. Hopefully, my experience with Federation Force will help you decide whether it's worth it to you.
