Should have rewatched the first season before this. Too me way too long to figure out who was who, who is related to who and who did what.

Other than that tough a fantastic season opener.

Incredible season premiere. I‘m watching this right after watching the first season so I had no problems following the timelines and characters. Can’t wait to see where the story is going. Also I really love the look of this show. It’s so dark and gritty. Also superb acting in this episode. Definitely the best German TV show ever made. It‘s really on par with a Hollywood production.

I'm a fan of Noah braiwashing himself, self-sufficient to the bone

I started the second season by fulfilling this prophecy (today is 06/27/2020)

It was a bit of a challenge catching up after watching season 1 three years ago, but I’m getting there with Trakt open to keep checking who’s who.

Such a great show. I don’t know why I left such a big gap. The 2052 scenes are incredibly dystopian. Just waiting on the zombies!

I'm not much of a fan of dystopian futures or anything else dystopian, so I hope that Jonas doesn't spend too much time there. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this one, and it hasn't lost a beat in terms of quality.

It's awesome that this season premiered almost exactly the same day the beginning of the pilot was set on.

Crazy that Elizabeth is the leader in 2052. Wouldn't have expected that. And the girl who was translating looks a whole lot like 1986 Hannah for some reason.

Jonas is still very much into his aunt, apparently (and we got another season premiere gratuitous sex scene).

Franziska is still hiding shit, which now also somehow includes the prostitute, who is related to one-eyed cop (btw were we ever told what happened to his eye?).

And we went even farther into the past! This show is spanning a time period of more than 100 years right now! Insane.

what's with this show that every season premiere starts with a sex scene :sob: (idk abt s3 tho, but s1 and s2 surely did)

I took a long time before I got to this second season. I can't remember exactly when I watched the first season, but it was probably around two years ago. As a result I started this episode until the cold open and then had to pause it to read some extensive recaps to get myself reacquainted with this labyrinthine behemoth. I remembered really liking the first season because it felt so sleek and confident in itself. You don't really see too much of that in sci-fi these days. There's usually some piece of it that is more standard: comedy, romance, or detective work. There's a heavy dosage of mystery in Dark but it feels fresh because it wants to explore some of these concepts. It's almost as if Shane Carruth expanded on the mind-boggling nature of Primer and decided to develop something a bit more interesting next.

This is a good season opener. There's so much foreboding that it's palpable. And, as always, it makes me miss Germany.
