I never EVER comment on individual episodes, but the way they managed to keep my attention as an EF-impaired semi-adult for 54 full minutes while never leaving a diner booth is incredibly telling of just how poignant this episode is.
The conversation is very carefully crafted and is able to tackle a really complex topic (addiction and its effect on the self and others) with masterful grace. Honestly truly, truly good!
This episode hits really hard.
Yall ever play Danganronpa? How it's a whole situation about finding hope in a world of despair. I think both of these specials were about that. Two characters absorbing despair in their town but just trying to find and understand hope.
Wow, the performances of these two just left me full of tears and in awe. Only facts were spoken, they hit hard. This show is phenomenal.
These were very well done. Um, not going to lie I wish Atlanta would have done that. Just give us something. However in this instance, this was very good. They gave us something, and that something was well made imo. We got a glimpse of what a full character workup would look like in limited experiences. The departure bottle-esque premise makes these episodes something that future series might try to tide fans over in their own franchises.
