In the previous episode I was just wondering what happened to Donny's lawsuits, and would you just look at that? They were addressed in the very next show. Unfortunately they weren't so much "addressed" as "dropped", both in-universe and from the writers' perspective.
If only the writers had stuck with that plot thread and done something interesting with it, instead of throwing it away just to create Yet Another Half-assed Romance for Frasier.
