The Kurfürstendamm is one of the most famous streets in Germany. A must for every Berlin visitor. But hardly anyone knows the eventful history of the great German boulevard. Every house here has its story. The film tells the most exciting of them: for example, about the 1920s, when nude bars in private homes opened and closed in close succession, via the Café Reimann, in which the Nazis rioted in 1931 and whose owners later belonged to a barely known resistance group, about the "Maison de France ", on which a terrorist attack was perpetrated in August 1983, in which the Stasi had its finger in the play. The film goes in search of traces, shows rise and decay, glittering world and dark sides of the infamous boulevard. Interview partners tell of criminal cases, the assassination of Rudi Dutschke and the Kurfürstendamm as a place of longing.
