The Mars Family of 12 has outgrown their home several times. With ten kids ranging in age from five to twenty, they have gone through many expansion projects, one of which was adding on a new kitchen.

With a new baby and an expanding business, Seth and Samantha Barnes are quickly outgrowing their house. The couple would love for their cluttered garage to be transformed into a space where Sam can run her cooking business. They also dream of a backyard that can be an extension of their home. Leave it to designer Jamie Durie to give the Barnes so much more! He takes on the garage challenge but also expands his HGTV'd concept their backyard. His plan includes a huge deck capped with a wall of retractable glass that brings the living room into the yard, a fire pit relaxation area, a patio and pergola in front of the garage, and edible garden for cooking.

Avid travelers and ultimate HGTV fans, Jennifer and Kevin Berson have remodeled most of their house with elements directly from their favorite HGTV shows. However, with the arrival of their first child, the Berson's family room and Jen's office was left cluttered and unfinished. Enter Kim Myles! Kim's goal is to turn the cluttered hodge-podge of a room into a high-brow, luxurious, yet comfortable space. Her Regency-inspired transformation includes rich colors and textiles, custom furniture, a custom focal point chandelier, a unique art screen covering the media center, inspired office space furnishings, and a custom antique door art installation. The end result is a jaw-dropping space that is both functional and breathtaking.

From making music to playing games, the Marshalls are a tight-knit clan. Their basement could be the perfect place to hang out but its shabby decor, weird lay out, and broken down fireplace makes it a space that is not conducive for family fun time. Enter designer Antonio Ballatore, who turns the Marshall's wishes for a hip hangout basement into the ultimate place to rock out, play games and hang in style! Inspired by rock and roll and classic 80's arcade themes, Antonio rips out the Marshall's old fireplace and bulky closet to expand the space, gives the walls colorful paint and custom boom box wall paper treatments, creates a seating area with custom banquets inspired by the family's vintage 1968 Ford Galaxy, builds a 'road case' media center that houses 3 TVs and designs an array of graphically personalized vintage arcade games to fill the space with life, love and energy.

As parents of three young girls, Ryan & Erin Fletter are long overdue for a space they can reclaim as their own in their 1890′s Victorian home.

With two young daughters who have quickly overtaken their house, Ricky and Michelle Cardenas long for a kid-free, toy-free retreat. Their dream is to transform an unused, upstairs bonus room into a Mexican cantina-inspired lounge, media room and office to remind them of their travels south of the border. Claro que si! Who better to tackle this challenge than Mexico's designer extraordinaire, Sandra Espinet? To create a stylish space with Mexican flair that is functional and sophisticated, Sandra replaces two old closets with custom cabinets that house a chic office area for Michelle and a swanky bar for Ricky, equipped with a high-tech keg machine! These cabinet doors showcase a Latin-infused, wrought iron-inspired design material that is used as an eye-catching accent throughout the room, including a stunning design on the cathedral ceiling. To give this space Sandra's signature flair, the ceiling is also finished with a Moroccan star design and an authentic wrought iron chandelier from Mexico. This makeover also features an LED fireplace with a state-of-the-art pop-up plasma television. By the end, Sandra fulfills all of the Cardenas' dreams and more - creating the ultimate adult lounge that is functional, comfortable and elegant.

HGTV'd and The Ellen DeGeneres Show team up to give an amazing military family a once-in-a-lifetime home makeover. After receiving a request for tickets from Krystal and Ryan, Ellen decides to do something much bigger to give back to her deserving fans. Live on her show, Ellen surprises the couple, revealing the HGTV'd crew will be giving them a $100,000 makeover, transforming their home inside and out! HGTV'd enlists fierce designer David Bromstad to pull off this challenge! To turn their drab backyard into a luxe, fully loaded retreat, David furnishes the space with luxurious outdoor furniture and a top-of-the-line barbeque. The yard comes to life with a burst of green when David installs large limestone planters and lush artificial grass. The final pieces in David's grand plan for the yard come together when an exquisite pergola goes up and the dramatic fire and water feature goes in. But the design guru doesn't stop there! David goes inside and completely overhauls the family's living room and bedroom, bringing in all new modern furniture and plush carpeting. As a finishing touch, David creates three customized paintings to give the spaces the signature Bromstad splash of color. By the end, the couple's bland, style-challenged house is transformed into a chic but functional dream home the family will enjoy for many years to come!

Secret bookcase doors! John has always dreamed of having a door disguised as a bookcase leading to a secret room, and Emily is thrilled to make this childhood wish come true. As the HGTV'd crew and Emily finish the makeover, it's mission accomplished.

HGTV'D and landscape designer Ahmed Hassan take on the daunting task of overhauling the Clegg family's big and barren backyard in the middle of Texas. Lack of square footage in this huge yard is not the issue for this fun loving family of four. The challenge is how to take this oversized blank slate and turn it into a stylish, functional outdoor oasis that works for the entire family. By the time Ahmed is finished, the Clegg's backyard wasteland is transformed into the ultimate outdoor 'staycation' spot the entire family can enjoy for years to come.

Moving from a cramped apartment in Manhattan to a spacious home in Texas, Christian and Nancy Rodill are overwhelmed by all their new space. These NYC transplants want to transform their unused upstairs bonus room into a chic lounge for entertaining. Enter designer extraordinaire Genevieve Gorder! She plans to fuse the Rodill's love of the Big City with their current desert landscape in big ol' Texas. Using green grass cloth wallpaper, layers of textural sheetrock on the walls, and a converted glass jewelry case for a bar, Genevieve creates a distinctive, unique vintage bar for entertaining. The last piece of design is the biggest and most impressive, as a 600-pound onyx art structure goes up on the wall, giving the entertainment room a truly one-of-a-kind focal point.

HGTV'd joins forces with ultra-cool designer Antonio Ballatore in scenic Salt Lake City to help engaged couple, Ana and Todd. Their living room and kitchen that haven't been updated since the house was built in the '50s. The design team kick starts the makeover by tearing down a wall that divides the two spaces - ripping up not one, not two, but three mismatched floors! But that's just the beginning! The kitchen is transformed from the ground up with cork floors, sleek cabinets and custom-made countertops. In the living space, a coat closet is ingeniously converted into a bar area, floating granite shelves go in and a rickety, wooden staircase gets a cool, industrial makeover. Next, Antonio personalizes the space by creating colorful pop art for the walls, using personal pictures from the couple as inspiration. Even Clementine, the couple's beloved French bulldog, gets a custom dog house complete with matching artificial grass, disco ball, and a graffiti-tagged exterior!

Newlyweds Chuck and Elizabeth recently moved into a spacious, Rocky Mountain home with a wall of windows facing the breathtaking Salt Lake City Valley. The problem? This grand '80s-style living room is overlooked and underused. With a love for entertaining, this couple longs to turn this space into a stylish, city-inspired lounge, which lives up to its postcard perfect view. Who better to call than world-class husband and wife design team, Robert and Cortney Novogratz? Inspired by Utah's scenic mountain landscape, first plan of attack is to transform the room's massive fireplace. After the dark, dated granite is ripped out, this wood burning focal point is covered floor-to-ceiling with rugged strips of Utah's own reclaimed wood. To give the space a personalized spark, an old white wall is covered with framed photographs of the newbie lovebirds. To ensure this lounge will pack a punch of style and fun, Robert and Cortney bring in a completely reconstructed vintage pool table! By the end, the Novogratzs give Chuck and Elizabeth the ultimate wedding gift - a chic, modern, Rocky Mountain lounge, worthy of its spectacular view!

HGTV'd teams up with Canadian home improvement dynamo Bryan Baeumler to tackle the Donovan family's large, but lackluster backyard in Park City, Utah. Overwhelmed by their oversized, overgrown space, Jame and Stephanie have left it, well, overlooked. Bryan's goal is to transform this backyard wasteland into a deluxe, outdoor living space: complete with lavish lounge and dining areas, massive koi fish pond, cozy fire pit area, artist studio and waterfall! This is a huge project, and that means bring on the heavy equipment! With an excavator, earthmover, and a forklift tearing up the space, it's not long before the yard becomes a major construction site. When the landscaping is complete, the empty weather-worn patio is ready for its makeover. Using luxurious fabrics and plush outdoor furniture, Bryan and the crew build a comfy, shaded lounge and an elegant dining area. By the end, Bryan pulls off a jaw dropping transformation, creating the ultimate nature lover's lounge, where the Donovans can entertain al fresco in style year round!

After leaving New York City for Park City, Utah, Jenny and Filip Wojcikowski purchased a spacious, traditional mountain-style home. But it turns out their log cabin-inspired living room is not quite meshing with their chic, urban sensibilities. Enter expert design contractor Matt Muenster, who reinvents the Wojcikowski's woodsy living room with a dramatic Rustic Meets Modern makeover! Combining industrial accents and natural materials, the team rips out an old, unused window seat and replaces it with a custom bar made from reclaimed fir wood. Rounding out the sleek redo are lush leather furniture and one-of-a-kind, metal light fixtures. At the end, Jenny and Filip are thrilled this modern remodel maintained the integrity of their mountain-style home, while giving the space a big shot of Big City style they so missed. Makeover accomplished!
